Back in November 2016 i was approved for a truck at otr they needed $500.00 down they did not say it was non refundable we showed up picked a 2103 Volvo 780 when we test drove it check engine light came on they sent it to the shop located where shop is they said it was the dozier valve .They replaced it we drove 400 miles on our way home we start having regin issues we had regin about 10 times before we got back to delaware when we parked at our yard the shut down engine light came on we called Otr it took us over two days to contact someone after talking to Matt the service manager we wanted to tack it to the volvo dealer in our area he did not want us to go there he said they charge to much we took it to the volvo dealer they said the Def system eas shot 9,000.00 repair they talked the volvo dealer into doing limited reapairs we drove about 2,000 miles after that the truck did the same thing on otr website it states they clean all def filters when we asked for the report they could produce or did not know if it was done even though they guarantee on there web site of course the truck went back to the volvo dealer they stated that after cleaning the filter that they needed to redo the whole sytem that they recommended to be done the first time the truck was in the shop it took at least a week of trying to get in touch with someone from otr no one returned calls finally matt called and said they wanted us to pay half i said no they ended up paying for it and repossed the truck 'Stay away from this Company.
IF YOU LIKE TO HAVE TO FILE BANKRUPTCY! THEN BY ALL MEANS LEASE THIS CO
Unike others I will go into detail about this sham of a company and their piece of crap warranty. It all started when I purchased the 2016 Freightliner Cascadia (Late March 2021) with 440K miles. (listed at 438K but when I picked up had added miles). My salesman Brad Roberts made the whole process a nightmare. Finally when I supposed to pick up the truck at Pomona California Ryder and was set to fly with nonrefundable tickets, the truck had not yet been inspected.
Had to book second flight a week later. Now I drove this thing down to Las Vegas to register it and their paperwork doesn't even show the purchase price and I had to pay over $7,725 to register it. Should of been half that, had to pay it due to lag time for appointment due to Covid. I emailed the supposed supervisors and they said they would look into it and that was the last I heard from them.
I have put less than 50K on this truck and have put $15,000 in it which of course not a single thing was covered by warranty. Also watch that extra $200 weekly for maintenance. Mine was still attached to the previous owner and my $200 a week was being spent by him due to their incompetence. The bulk of the problems being the DEF after treatment. The truck has been down about equal to what it has been operational. Now the trucks 1 box is history which is 200k miles before it should of. Now 1 boxes are impossible to find.
They are priority to be put into new trucks and for trucks under new warranty due to Covid. This repair would be $14,500 and the wait on the part is indefinite. I had been working with a gal named Jennifer that had said they would defer payments for two months due to all the issues and repairs. And of course after 4 weeks they started taking out the payment. So I spent the last three days trying to get hold of them ( if there is 2 in the que it is 3 hours of hold time, if you put you call back number no one will call you back) Then finally I get a hold of a complete witch named Sharon.
First she yells at me and says well did you talk to Jennifer. I explained not since we had agreed on a two month deferral which next payment wasn't to be. She said rudely and sarcastically well the payments are coming out and I am to late for that. She then claimed she was going to put me on hold and get a hold of Jennifer and of course hung up on me (and didn't try me back) Then I had to call them back Of course I got the same smart mouthed witch Sharon. She rudely argued with me and said I had hung up on her. She claimed Jennifer was out due to a medical procedure (sounds like a lie to me). And I'd have to wait until she came back in to resolve any issues.
I said I know what I got to do and hung up on her. Not 30 minutes later this witch called me back and said that I know you don't real don't want to talk to me, but I don't care (in an extremely high sarcastic tone) and then preceded to tell me that Jennifer did defer,, but there was nothing they could do. I responded that I already stopped payment. She said well that's fine, you will be hearing from our collections department and then in the highest sarcastic pitch she could muster she said you have a great day and I responded the same way back to her. I wish I was making this up, but this is a true story. If you like bankruptcy and to be treated by witch named Sharon in customer service like you're in the 6ht grade, by all means lease with this company
Here is our review of OTR LEASING $5000 down 1st week - good 2nd week - DPF started sucking fuel. Throwing codes. Then codes disappeared. End of 2nd week - Truck towed $300. Truck was in the shop for 7 days. Doser, fuel line leak, and I can't remember the last issue. ($3000) 4th week - picked up the truck from shop. Not even 2 days later same codes popped up. Truck in the shop for 14 days ($3400). Fuel pump and nox sensor. I emailed OTR LEASING after the truck was in the shop for 7 days. They created a ticket. Never heard from them. Called them the day after 4th of July. Created another ticket. I didn't hear back from them. I called on July 6. The guy I spoke with told me they aren't going to make repairs. But, they'll offer me a maintenance loan with a high interest rate. I told them they sold us a lemon. He says, we've got plenty of trucks that don't have Issues. Ummmm....that's because the buyers are having to fix the issues. The warranty is a piece of crap. National Truck Protection is slow and they were only willing to pay $500. We understand when buying used, there will be some challenges. But these issues were major, pre-existing, and costly repairs. If you're thinking about it..... DON'T! WE WILL NEVER BUY USED AGAIN! We do not recommend OTR LEASING! Latest update: DEF system continues to give us hardships. We are shutting truck down as we have depleted all of our savings to fix the previous problems. 6 weeks in our possession, 4 weeks in the shop If you had a similar experience, please get in contact with me. It doesn't matter how old your issues were. [email protected] or through FB https://www.facebook.com/rpatt71
I just want to thank all of you for doing the right thing which help me made my decision about otr. Josh told me i need $5,000.00 down on a truck to lease. I did get the $ 5 g together and i was ready to put it down until i read all of your complaints.I decided not to go with otr and i emailed josh and told him as to why and this is what was said...
Josh…..Hey this is ron lucas….I pulled the $ 5,000.00 and i was ready to put down on the truck. I was really excited until i read some very disturbing reports about otr leasing in yscam.com. I understand some people have sour grapes, but and this is a very big but….All these people say the same thing about otr leasing, which is not a coincidence, and how you treat people with legit concerns about the vehicle that was purchased with their hard earned money through otr. You will not be taking me….I can’t afford it. Thanx but no thanx…ill pass ron then josh sent me this cheesy response...

I completely understand your concerns. We are a sub-prime lender on used trucks. When you lease used equipment to customers who need 2nd chance lending you can’t make everyone happy. If you look at our google and facebook ranking they are both 4 out of 5 stars with good and bad reviews. I understand if you don’t feel comfortable with leasing a truck from us but i assure you any second chance lender who lease used trucks with as little as no money down will have the same good and bad reviews. Have a great night. Josh
I mean he makes my $ 5,000 dollars look like little or nothing then he stays clear of any of the complaints which everyone says the same thing...No response on the troubles with the trucks whatsoever...
Whant everybody stay the f*** away from OTR they bunch of thieves crooks liars specially Stuart Jhonson and his staff. do not bother lease a truck from them you have the truck days later they send somebody repo the truck
On 21 AUG 17 I purchased truck from OTR Leasing. My sales representative that made the sale was Jacob Cummings. I took the truck on a long test drive. The truck had a coolant leak and the ABS light came on. I told Matt Muller. He said that he would repair the two issues. Once he fixed the issues. I signed for truck and headed back to Texas. Once I got back to Texas the check Enging light came on and the truck was showing two fault codes. Also when I tried to hook up to my trailer I found out that I had issues with the fifth wheel. At the time of test driving the truck there was no trailer to hook up to so there was no way of knowing that the fifth wheel had issues until I got home and tried to hook up to my trailer. I left OTR Leasing on 23 AUG 17 got home on 25 AUG 17 right away I called Jacob Cummings and told him about the issues. I also let him know that although OTR had a DOT inspection done on the truck. My carrier is requiring me to get a DOT inspection done at the TA travel center. And I let him know that the truck won't pass a DOT inspection with the check engine light on. Jacob Cummings submitted a maintenance order and told me that Chad Hall would call me. When Chad Hall called me I told him about the check engine light the fifth wheel and that the truck won't pass a DOT inspection with check engine light on. He told me to check the coolant level and power wash the fifth wheel and and to find out the code for check engine light. Well the coolant level was fine and cleaning and greasing the fifth wheel didn't work. Freightliner said that the switch was bad on the fifth wheel.
Also the TA found a air leak on truck I paid for repair of air leak. I also noticed that the coolant leak that Matt Muller had repaired was still leaking. On 28 AUG 17 I called Jacob Cummings back told him what Chad Hall told me to do. And still have same issues plus coolant leak. Also the truck has a 6 month NTP warranty that you must pay a $500 deductible to use. But the issues that the truck has does not fall under that. Well Jacob Cummings submitted another maintenance order. Said this time Matt Muller would call me. Once he called I told him about the issues also about the coolant leak that he had repaired still leaks. He told me that if I pay for repairs he would credit me back half of cost on to my account. I just spent $5,437.50 on down payment for this truck and I cant afford to pay for any repairs to a truck that I have had less than two weeks. Well now it's been a little over two weeks and while taking truck to freightliner the air compressor and air dryer was making very loud noises and the truck cut out in the middle of the road. Had to have truck towed to freightliner. I had just called Jacob on 7 SEP 17 to let him know the truck still shows two fault codes on dash still has coolant leak and fifth wheel issues I told him I just want to return the truck and get my deposit back. He said once he makes the sale. From there it's up to Chad Hall, and Matt Muller what happens. Said all he can do is summit another maintenance order. That was Thursday and today is Saturday and no call from anyone. Like I said the truck broke down today and it's in shop. I won't find out til Monday from freightliner what they found and how much for repairs.
I tried to lease a freightliner I put 3000.00 dollars deposit down I was told by the sales rep Terance that when I do finally pu the truck I the contract while be updated. Terance was calling me asking did I want the truck but I told him I was running into problems with insurance policy, my liscense but I reassured him that I do want a truck from them once I work out my problems and you have my money.
I called several of times to update them on my status, know one would contact me back and when I did get in contact with someone to update them I'm finally in the position to lease a unit I was told that the deposit I wired from California I no longer have and it will not be availble for me to put toward the lease of a unit I was devistated from there response.
All that my wife has gone through with cancer and just circumstances that we've faced and to get ripped of by a OTR leasing was another devistating blow. For OTR to take advantage of us in this way is a travesty, and a small indivisual as myself just can't afford to fight companies like theres.
no money and no truck who really is at a loss me or them.
PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH OTR LEASING THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY........
OTR Leasing is not what it appears. When I first pulled up I thought I was dealing with a reputable company. I quickly found out how wrong I was. They tell you that they have a shop that the send the truck to for DOT inspections and to fix anything you find wrong with the truck before you leave their location. Before purchasing a 2011 Freightliner, I made Matt Muller aware that there seemed to be an air leak and that the clutch felt strange, like it needed adjusting. Matt told me that he would have the shop guys look at it. Well after pulling off the lot and getting to my hotel, because I had to spend the night after they did not get the warranty put in place for the truck the first day, and they did not even admit fault for that, I noticed that there was still an air leak. So I had to turn around ad go back to OTR where they said the shop would fix it.
Once I got to Memphis, the tuck could not pass the DOT inspection with the company because of the air leak ( the same air leak that was supposed to have been fixed 2 times by OTR's shop).
The problem was that it needed a new brake chamber which I had to pay for. I contacted Chad Hall and he stated that he would credit the first payment for the brake chamber work. Well finally after getting on the road, my driver stated that the clutch was not acting properly after getting under the first load. So once the truck got back in Memphis, I took the truck to TAG Truck Center and the estimated repair costs will be $3,282.49. I contacted Chad and made him aware and all he says is that the clutch repair cost is on me.
I emailed Chad back and asked if I could be exempt from the extra $200.00 for a maintenance fund for the next four months to help recoup the repair cost. The "maintenance fund" is an extra $200.00 per week that they don't tell you about until they have you hooked with a truck. It's definitely not mentioned from the beginning when you inquire about trucks. Chad informed me he "will discuss and let me know what they come up with". After 2 days I emailed Chad to find out what they came up with and he replied "Discussed. We will not waive the maintenance. Sorry and Thanks." This is bad business, especially since I made Matt aware of every issue I had. Chad says he does not see where I made mention of the clutch, but that's untrue because Matt was made aware of everything. Matt did not address any of the issues I spoke of (air leak, soft clutch). Chad even said that they pay $2000.00 per month for the advantage of having a shop to help them. He stated that the shop does not gain from not finding issues, but they passed the truck with a so-called DOT inspection with an air leak. OTR does not care about their customers at all. All they care about is getting your $5,437.50 after that, customers mean nothing.
In 2 weeks, my truck was in the shop Twice, and all I ask is that they waive the extra 200.00 per week for maintenance fund for 4 months to help recoup some of the cost in repairing the truck before I even get started making money. This request does not seem unreasonable since the extra $200.00 per week is supposed to be my money for maintenance. Well I would say that $3,282.00 is a hefty maintenance issue. So far the customer service from Chad Hall has been careless and less than satisfactory. Surely they can adjust $200.00 of the weekly payment just as he is crediting the account for the brake chamber work. All I'm asking is to waive the extra money being paid weekly for maintenance since I am having to do some real maintenance in order for the truck to keep operating. After all, that's what it's supposed to be for, right? It seems that OTR cares more about collection extra funds calling it "maintenance fund" instead of helping their customers. It's a rip off to sell a truck that can't switch gears properly and will cause a major interruption in my income if it goes down on the road.
OTR Leasing sold me a truck, that they had, had the DEF system deleted. Because when they got it back from the first guy they sold it to. He attempted to delete it improperly, and they found it was cheaper to delete it, than to fix it properly. I have tried to get ahold of them to get the information on what program was used to delete it, and they refuse to return my calls, or even provide me with the name of the mechanic that they hired to do it. OTR Leasing, apparently doesn't care about post sale customer relations. Sell junk, and not provide any customer service after they get their $$.
OTR leasing are like any other truck dealership in America. They talk real good initially to get you to buy the truck. You have access to any one of them soon as you pick up the phone and dial a number before you purchase the truck. Once you have the truck and signed all documents, forget about being able to reach anyone on the phone! The issue I have is with a company associated with them which is called Driver Road services/ North American Van Lines. This is the company OTR uses for your maintenance escrow! Driver Road Services provides the worst service I have ever seen from any company. So this is how it works you need a repair done you have to contact driver road services! OTR deduct the money that supposedly goes into your maintenance escrow but driver road services are in charge of Distributing your funds. So they charge you $200 weekly for maintenance escrow that should be available to you, well it never is! Anytime I need a repair done my balance is never correct and I've had my truck since 2016 So you would think it's been 3 weeks since I've had a repair done I've made three payments my balance should at least reflect the previous three weeks of $200 which would equal $600 well that's never the case! Everytime I check my maintenance balance the account is never right 3 weeks ago I was told I had a little over $1,300 in my escrow. In three weeks not one dime from the last three payments of $200 per week is reflected in my maintenance balance! Not to mention driver roll services charges you to spend your money! That's right!!! You are forced to sign up for they services and they charge you for it! So, they are in control of your money they don't send you know report you get no receipt get no updated account balance, your repairs, nothing!
If you don't contact them you would never know what's going on in your maintenance account! I tried to monitor it the best way I can by calling and getting a maintenance account balance! Which is never right! I swear on my life in over a year every time I have called about my maintenance account the funds are never accurate! So then, I'm forced to call OTR to complain about my maintenance escrow! OTR with tell me, "oh you should have this amount in there", but once I call that amount is not in there! I can understand if the balance doesn't reflect a true statement if I was in between repairs! So giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe a invoice has not been closed out yet that may be the reason my balance is not correct! Well that theory and scenario is blown out the water because for example prior to me checking my balance I have not had any work done in over a month so before I get work done I call to get a balance! I may even wait two to three weeks before I get work done because I'm thinking three weeks that $600 that should be added onto my total but it's never there! The Reps or coordinators as they call them at driver Road services or the most unprofessional and unorganized group of people I have ever seen on any level! Professionalism doesn't exist in that office! From the start of my report you would think that my problem would be more with driver road services and to a certain degree it is but I don't have a truck with driver road services and they are not the one who deduct $200 per week out my bank account! OTR deduct the money from my bank account and once I call Driver Road services to complain I'm always referred back to OTR! Which is completely understood as though my truck comes from OTR and OTR is the company that deducts the money!
To add insult to injury once you need a repair done you have to call Driver Road services to set it up. You give them the shop location and the type of repair that is being done. In return they call the shop and authorize it! The process sounds pretty simple but it doesn't matter which day of the week you call to set up the service is going to take driver road services hours to call and authorize the repair to be done! So the only authorized shop to do the repair then once the repair is done it takes hours for them to pay the shop! Therefore if you are in between Alo and me any type of repair you're going to be stuck waiting hours on Driver Road Services crappy process or end up paying out of pocket! The Accountant at OTR which is Tina, has the worst attitude and snappy tone and is the epitome of someone that is in the wrong profession! She's in charge of resolving these issues but doesn't have a clue about nothing! And will tell you one thing and if that doesnt work, all in the same conversation she will tell you something different! Once she realize she have told two different lies in the same conversation and have talked her way into a hole she gets a nasty attitude and will hang up on you!
She doesn't explain things well she talks in circles! Even once she go review the recorded privous conversations and hear the lies that she has told you she will leave you on hold forever to come up with a whole different story to justify the lie that she just heard herself tell you! All in all, in my opinion they are running a scam with the ducting of an additional $200 per week for a bogus maintenance escrow! I've contacted a lawyer because what they are doing is Criminal! You take money out my account and I don't see it not able to spend it not able to use it and you can't even explain to me where it's at! As much money as I have invested in this truck I'm going to give it back because they are truly unprofessional! As a customer who pays over $700 a week to get treated with no respect, no courtesy no understanding of me being concerned over my money! I have purchased trucks from other companies since I have had this truck from OTR and I haven't had a third of these type of issues that I'm having with OTR! They are a true definition of a rip off company! I am asked any and everyone to look past the bells and whistles of a pretty truck and do your research!!
I leased a truck from OTR leasing on April 6,2017. I left there place where they store and deleiver the trucks,I made it too St Louis Mo the same day and the truck broke down. Something to do with the def filter the truck has been in the shop for 3 weeeks, now i can not get anyone to return my calls or give me a refund so i can get a working truck from a reputable dlr.
I spoke with Roman Fields numorous times on leasing a truck. At no point did he mention that my deposit on a truck thats not even ready is non-refundable. He sent me a lease agreement via email and after reading the contract I didn't agree with all the extra fees that was added without my knowledge. So once I spoke with Roman Fields and explained to him that I wasn't going to sign a lease with OTR he instantly became very rude and volgar in his language. Wouldn't let me get another word in before hanging the phone up in my face Saying good luck because you want get your dam deposit back. If this the way this company does business I wouldn't recommend nobody to use this company.
This is what I wrote them before I filled for a civil suit, the whole story is in the email. I asked for a refund or another truck on 06/28/16. Request made to Blake COO of OTR Leasing and Matt Muller manger of operations for OTR Leasing. I made this reasonable request after the lease purchase of a 2012 Kentworth T700, that I picked up on 06/21/16. Before purchasing said vehicle, during the test driving process. I let Chad Hall operations customer service know that the check engine light, the engine fan, the a/c unit, and the clutch was incredibly hard to push down, and needed to be checked/repaired before purchase. I also asked about several drive tires that looked dry rotted on the vehicle, and if they could be replaced. Chad Hall then informed me that the truck would be placed in there shop and fixed. This was on 06/20/16, we returned on 06/21/16 to sign paperwork and pick up vehicle. After Chad Hall informed us that the shop had fixed said issues with the vehicle, we signed the lease for OTR Leasing. When we had possession of the vehicle and proceeded to get the truck placed at a company. Around 200 miles out the all of the same issues that where brought up before I signed the lease had started malfunctioning again. With the acception of the clutch which was the same as before when I test drove the vehicle the day before, very hard to push down or engage to the floor.
I immediately began to contact Chad Hall and Terrance Abney salesman for OTR Leasing, about these issues. Which resulted in a long list of emails and phone calls that did not get resolved until 06/27/16. On said day I was on the phone with Matt Muller trying to coordinate getting said issues fixed, and the transmission went out at the time of coordination. At which point Matt Muller implied that we had to bring said vehicle to Kansas city, KS to be placed in there shop Full Throttle for said repairs. When we arrived on 06/28/16 we where at shop for hrs with no contact, after the fact of letting shop and Matt Muller know we where there. In which time my bro and I went to the OTR Leasing and had the conversation of receiving a refund or another truck. Blake informed us that was a very very small chance of that happening, and that they would personally have said issues repaired. After the truck was placed in the Full Throttle shop and supposedly repaired, upon picking the truck up on 07/01/16. The transmission was repaired, the a/c unit seemed to be in working condition. As we proceeded home, we didn't make it to Joplin, Mo before the a/c unit was nonfunctional again. I immediately contacted Matt Muller through email and voice mail. In which time I placed truck in TA shop for a estiment in which time we where informed they could not fix the issue.
I put the truck in Transport America shop and they fixed said issue with a/c unit, at which time Matt Muller said I would be reimbursed for all expenses paid out for repairs on the vehicle. Which resulted in only trying to give a credit towards a maintenance account that he only verbally stated just like every other incounter dealing with issues on this truck. And OTR Leasing would not reimburse the cost of fuel to and from Kansas city, KS, after we where told the only place they would fix the transmission was in Kansas city, KS. On 07/19/16 one of the tires I pointed out with concerns of dry rotting blew out. I contacted Matt Muller about this and Chad Hall. On 07/21/16 while backing into a dock door, the clutch lever broke. The same clutch that I informed Chad Hall before signing lease about, the same clutch I informed Matt Muller and Full Throttle shop about when it was placed in shop for all other said issues.
Today marks one month of having this truck in our possession and we have encountered all of these issues in this short amount of time with the only thing being fixed at OTR Leasing expense is the transmission. OTR Leasing didn't even have the decency to give a credit towards my truck note for all the repairs and issues that I have personally had to come out of pocket for, since signing a lease for a vehicle that I was told had been fixed prior to me signing the lease and paying $5,437.50 upfront for. This truck has proven beyond lemon laws, and OTR Leasing representation has proven incompatible or careless of that fact in resolving the issues placed upon me the consumer for there repeatedly in functional piece of equipment. So for the third and last time, would rather not do business at all with OTR Leasing because of the issues with said vehicle and the way they are being handled. So I am requesting a refund on my down payment.
If I am to be forced into staying into a lease contract with OTR Leasing because they refuse to issue a refund and let me out of an already breached contract due to there part. Then I must insist that OTR Leasing replace the vehicle I am in with another truck that exceeds the lemon laws of this country. Because this truck is a lemon, plain and simple. And if we dont come to an agreement with one of those two request I just made, the next form of any communication from me will be made by my lawyer. I expect to hear back from someone in OTR Leasing establishment before end of business day today in order to rectify this matter. If I don't hear from anyone by the end of day I take that as a response not to comply with my wishes, and from that point all forms of communication, transaction or any other form of business we have in place will no longer be made or excepted on my behalf until a court appointed Judge has ruled a decision on this matter. This is not a theart nor a bluff. I am 100% serious. I will be waiting on the response from OTR Leasing on behalf of this situation.
