OTC Network Reviews

Health insurance companies provide seniors with supplements for their needs. It is called OTC who have contracts with pharmacies (major and minor) to sell the products to the seniors.

The Seniors are given a card for this purpose. I get between 70 and 80 dollars a month to buy my supplies. OTC has a list between 5000 and 6000 products to be distributed. If we don't spend the money each month the money is lost and we have to start over the next month with the same amount. 70 or 80.

The problem is that the OTC network and the pharmacies make it very difficult for the seniors to locate the products and know what products are acceptable. So my point is that I am sure many seniors find this process so stressful it really doesn't help them and they are not getting the services they deserve and the US Government is paying fot this.

The real problem is that the pharmacies do not stock the products that OTC has on their list. Nor do they have a location in the store for the OTC products so we have to wonder through the entire store to fine them with many times not having any results. Out of 5000 products Walgreens only had about 15 products or names that it took me over an hour to fine.

The help , staff, told me they do not cater to the OTC community so why do they have a small assortment of products? The entire senior citizen community are not provided with the products and services they deserve. It is not easy being a senior so why is it so difficult to help our own health with this program that is cheating us from having the best possible supplements and products. This is the third or fourth time this program has changed. Every time it changed we got less products.

We should receive the extra money that the providers are making because of their change of their business plan and the money they are getting from the insurance providers.

My hope is that OTC will be more informed of the poor website that doesn't allow us to find the products with the proper names of the products and that the Pharmacies have enough products that make the trip to the pharmacy worth while. They have 20 different companies they work with or more. There is no way of knowing what products are at the pharmacy for there is no way of telling from the OTC site which products are at which store. I believe this is an attempt by these companies not to provide us with a professional results with their non-caring about our situation. Is this the kind of country we want? I don't think so and right thinking people will correct this.
