Ordered a TRYBE Defense 6.5 Grendel BCG on Mar 26 2021 when it said it was in stock. Was put immediately on backorder. The date on back order moved back 3 times. As of June 3 2021 I contacted TRYBE Defense to find out what the problem was. They responded and told me to buy it somewhere else.
I then cancelled my order and tried to leave a review for others not to make the same mistake. The review was never allowed. Optics Planet only allows good reviews of their products. Do to fact this is weapon related, the ATF should be notified they are selling products they don't even have.
I placed several orders for items backordered around a month, in November of 2020. I still have not recieved them, and am still waiting. Their new delivery estimate is for January of 2022! They refuse to swap out the items for functionally identical ones that are being sold by them now, not on backorder, at higher prices.
They are deliberately choosing to sell to people who ordered after me, because those people are paying higher prices. This company is ignoring an agreement they made months ago, because it suits them. Totally unethical business, and total ripoff. The customer service has a "not my problem" attitude, and has been completely unhelpful as the estimated ship dates keep being pushed further and further out. This company should be avoided at all costs.
OpticsPlanet lists items as being in stock. They are not! Then they lie about when your item will ship telling you that it has been sent to the shipping department, but they are behind due to covid, etc. Then they assign new order numbers for unknown reasons. Then, finally, after a month of giving me the run around, they tell me my item will ship in 7 to 9 weeks.
One has only to read the numerous reviews on these folks to see that they are scamming people. They take your money up front, most likely place an order with the supplier, and hope that the supplier ships quickly. If the supplier is back ordered, then they give you the runaround until either you give up and cancel your order, or the supplier sends them your item.
Their motto seems to be "They're born faster than we can piss them off!"
If you deal with these people, be prepared to be disappointed.
I placed an order with Opticsplanet.com for a rifle scope, rifle scope rings and a bipod on April 4th the total was over their 49.99 free shipping limit, So there were no shipping charges. on April 5th I get an email saying the scope rings will take 1 month to ship out, I immediately email them and ask them to remove the scope rings from my order and add a different set of scope rings that their website said was in stock.
I then recieve and email on April 6th telling me that the order is ready for shipment and they can not edit the order. checking the website, they wanted $15 for shipping on a $10 item. I called them immediately and tried to get information as to WHY they could not add the "in stock" rings to my order, they said because the bipod and scope are already packed and ready for shipment. but they said "we can cancel the order and you can just reorder everything together and avoid the shipping charge" So i said, sure go ahead and cancel the order and ill reorder.
When i went to reorder not even an hour later, THEY DOUBLED THE PRICE OF THE SCOPE!!!!!!! fact of the matter is they wanted more money from me, but now they will get no money from me. This company is a scam, STAY AWAY FROM OPTICSPLANET.COM
OpticsPlanet.com is a total scam company. They apparently stock nothing - just a foreign marketing company - and sells defect 2nds and factory rehabs - for which you can not just order and receive your order.
First, they will ship NOTHING until you call them. They send a letter that falsely claims there is a problem with your order. They will not respond to emails about this. Rather, they will not ship anything until you phone them and talk to someone who barelys speaks English, who tried to do a switch and bait sales pitch trying to talk you into buying something more expensive.
Don't hold your breath waiting for your product - and don't figure it is anything but 2nd hand junk when you get it. I ordered a digital day-night scope set and when I finally got it, then and only then inside the box is notice that probably none of it works and you'll probably have to send it to the factory - which is in China. In short, I spent nearly $1500 for nothing.
Unfortunately, I had also placed a second order - for which I received notice they don't have what I ordered in stock so they are just keeping my money and maybe in a few weeks I might receive something.
OpticsPlanet.com is a foreign total scam and fraud company. If you ordered from them figure minimally you will be on the phone to your credit card company to do a charge back or doing what I am going to do, take them to court for deceptive trade practices and common law fraud.
2/24/19 ordered 2 items from them as described on my order buy one get 1 free. It took over 30 days to get deliver and when opened was only the free half of the order. They are very disorganized and claim I received a new item when it was a demo as shown on box I got and not the primary item I ordered which has a rail.
OpticsPlanet claims that the one without rail was all I ordered even though the order clearly shows 2 and the price of $189.62. You can’t get anyone to answer the phone or respond to emails for days. They advertise one thing and give you something else that’s why I say it is bait and switch.
They charged me more for the free without rail part of my order than they charge for it online back in February and even now in May. I hope they will do the right thing and complete my order so I can change my review but I’m not sure based on past experience. We shall see. I have filed a BBB complaint the North Carolina department of justice and registered with my credit card.
I recently ordered a pair of sunglasses from Optics Planet and was told the specific item was indeed in stock. Three weeks later I was informed the item was not in stock. I then asked to cancel my order as there were no other items I was interested in purchasing. For the last four weeks they have been texting me at all hours of the day and night telling me I must choose another item and they refused to refund my money. They have also sent countless rude and offensive emails ordering me to choose another item. I have told these idiots no less than 15 times that all I wanted to do was to cancel my order. I have a hard time undeerstanding how these people are in business at all. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had dealing with an online purchase.
Opticsplanet.com had listed a set of night sights for a S&w 5906 9mm, inventory status said ships in 1-8 days, I bought and paid with PayPal, days later no email, no shipping info so I called them, they said sorry we don't have them there back ordered, I ask when will they be in, today is June 21 2016 they may ship sometime in August if we get them, I replyed I can't wait that long, the rep quote ( owell what do you want a refund) that's rude poor customer service, I requested a refund, 2 business days later still NO refund and PayPal said there's nothing pending,
here is the good part, the S&w 5906 pistol I have was discontinued in 1999, S&w stoped support in 2009 no parts made after that date, there selling parts that havent been made in 11-12 years, night sights only last 10 years so if they even had them they would be BAD by now , add was for brand new parts, it seems like they don't have a wear house of stuff but broker items they don't have or get, and don't contact you, they hope you forget and pocket your money,
I have ordered thousands of dollars of goods over several orders and two months. They constantly over promise delivery times. It has been taking several days to even process orders. They are now weeks since my order was taken, then only 3 of 4 items were in stock. Meanwhile, they charged me the $550 (approx) for the three sent items, then billed my card again for the full $599 for all items. I couldn't figure out why payments were bouncing. It turns out they are double dipping credit card charges. Meanwhile, they promised items to be delivered today, but the tracking number says 6 more days. What a rotten Internet webstore.
