OnlineCityTickets.com Reviews

For an upcoming musical, I went to this website to see if they had resale tickets. I found two for 69 each. I went to pay for it and never did see an itemized receipt. I knew there would be a service charge but thought it would be a reasonable 15-20% service charge. I discovered after I already paid it was a 52 dollar service charge on 139 for two tickets. Almost a 40% service fee. If it would have told me this anywhere before purchasing the tickets I wouldn't have made this purchase. They should have listed the fees somewhere on the site prior to buying the tickets. I made a foolish assumption and paid the price. Customer service was no help. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. COMPLETE SCAM and DECEPTION.

I recently bought tickets to a concert from onlinecitytickets.com. They are a ticket reseller, which they do acknowledge. They also acknowledge that the price that they are charging may be more than the face value of the ticket, which is fine, since you would assume that they have fees added in. I ordered 2 tickets at a price of about $150 each, so expecting to pay about $300. During the course of the ordering process, they added over $100 in fees to this total. Let me be clear, this is not shown at the beginning of the transaction, it is done at an arbitrary part of the process so that you don’t notice it. Then they ask you to fill out a survey of your experience before you realize the fees that have been added in, so of course most people will give positive feedback at that point.

It’s was only after I did this that I received an email with the total, which was over $400 in my case. A few days later, I received an email with the tickets for the event, and the face value of the tickets is approximately $50 each for a total of $100 for the pair. That means I ended up paying 4 times the face price of the tickets. It is clear to me that the website is intentionally deceptive in its configuration as they could just as easily tell you the fees upfront. I contacted the company and was basically told ‘too bad’. I contacted my credit card company and they are looking into it, but I’m not hopeful about that either. Beware of this company!

TAKE NOTE: OnlineCityTickets.com is a RIP OFF.

Christmas 2018, my husband and I are planning a trip to Nashville Tennessee for the first time. Thought it would be nice to attend the Moscow Ballets Great Russian Nutcracker at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN on Christmas Eve Dec 24, 2018. While I did not expect thickets for any venue to be cheap it was really all I could do to buy decent tickets at a cost of $119 dollars apiece and I'd say that wasn't exactly cheap. There were other tickets that were cheaper but I wanted it to be nice as this was our big event for this Christmas together, so I would splurge and try to get decent seating. Our trip to Nashville is "Our Christmas' this year and we did not buy gifts or plan on anything else, this was to be it, the big event for us.

In turn i looked around on the internet for several places that offered tickets for the Ryman Auditorium and I ran across OnlineCityTickets.

com After looking over the seating charts and pricing I noted all the warnings on the site and I also read the purchase agreement contract prior to checking out. The tickets clearly came up on their site showing $119 each for the Main Floor section 1, ROW- G. Therefore two tickets should be $238 dollars. Maybe a little tax on top of that.

Warnings on the site do say THAT "TICKETS MAY BE ABOVE FACE VALUE" Assuming there may be a service charge that was already included in the $119.00 ticket fee as listed and possibly tickets purchased at the venue would have actually been cheaper. Further upon check out I selected PayPal as no other choices were offered, immediately I was directed to the PayPal site and NEITHER AN ITEMIZED RECEIPT OR ANY OTHER PRINTOUT WAS AVAILABLE other than at the time of making the payment itself it came up and charged me for the TOTAL ORDER OF $330.89 and the PayPal site did not ask me if this was the total I wanted to charge to my credit card. It just went through.

When I saw this I FELT LIKE SOMEONE JUST TOOK A CHRISTMAS TREE AND RAMMED IT UP MY KEISTER! $330.89 for two tickets those were already expensive enough at $119 apiece as defined clearly at the time of purchase. In other words, they ripped me off for $92.89 cents, nearly $100 over the price of the tickets alone. I tried to call the company and all I got was an automated service that kept giving me the run around to other AUTOMATED Q&A and would never turn me over to a live person. Finally I wound up calling the company back on their direct Ticket Purchase line and insisted to talk to a manager in order to get hold of a live person. He knew I was pissed but offered no refund or excuse whatsoever for the excessive fees other than to say that the FEE pays for their web services and facilities. He did however give me worthless $40 coupon to use for another time or purchase within the next six months that I really have no intentions of using ~ WHAT SO I CAN GET IT SHOVED UP MY KEESTER AGAIN.~

NO THANKS.

At this time I have no other choice but to try and file a complaint with PayPal (Synchrony Bank) Master Card and dispute the charges or at least try and get a partial refund for the EXORBITANT fees of $92.89 on top of the already expensive tickets. Needless to say, I am truly pissed off and I could hardly see straight after dealing with these people. I had to take two Aleve to help with the headache after I got off the phone and now it’s been seven hours since I made this purchase and I’m still pissed off. It's just not worth it. DON'T DEAL WITH THESE THIEVING BASTARDS. There was also a customer service review that popped up at which time I gave them Five stars for convenient and fast ordering of the tickets on their site. BUT this questionnaire popped up BEFORE THE ACTUAL CHARGES WERE PROCESSED which I found to be very strange at the time.

Had I seen the charges or known what I was going to be charged I would have given them One Star or a ZERO had that been possible. At this time I feel as though my Christmas has been ruined and I don't even want to go to Nashville, I wish we had never planned this trip in the first place. Thanks OnlineCityTickets.com for shoving it up my keister and ruining my Christmas. It may only be $92 but when you add that to the total of the excessive amount of the tickets themselves (which was more than what I could really afford to spend) . I could have bought a nice Christmas present for my husband for the amount you stole from me. Not to mention the time and aggravation you brought into my life today, I just didn’t need it. I can only hope someday that KARMA will give you back what you deserve.

Even though Online City Tickets markets itself as a ticket reseller, it’s not clear on their website until the transaction is over and you reach out customer service requesting a confirmation regarding your tickets, that you are not actually buying tickets at all. You are just handing your money over to this company for a promise to deliver any type of tickets at a later date; and this is TOTAL SCAM!

Also Online City Tickets is using false information to persuade people to buy tickets; How? First, by using similar domains that trick customer to believe they are actually buying tickets from the venue. In my situation I had access through your company by clicking www.paviliondallas.com and not from onlinecitytickets.com. (this bring to the confusion of customer who think that are buying tickets directly from the venue and not from a third parties website). Is not after you click “tickets” that it redirectedme to your company’s website (once again, using misleading information to trick consumers). The screen showed me a seat chart from the venue, which I used to select my tickets. By allowing me to go forward with this action, it is your responsibility as a seller to deliver the selected tickets, most important; why do you hold a money from tickets that are not even available? I believe a transaction should be processed only at the time of confirming a delivery of the tickets selected.

Your tricky policies may believe you can go forward with your illegal practices, including that if I don’t get the selected tickets I will get better seats? How as a company can you possible know what is best for me? It may be good for you and for your illegal practices, but not for customers like me, that acted in goodwill to purchase tickets for a concert. Most important, how can you claim that your inventory establishes a 100% Buyer Guarantee when you can’t even deliver the tickets that I chose?

AFTER PURCHASING TICKETS OF A TOTAL OF MORE THAN $500 I DIDN'T GET A CONFIRMATION AT ALL. CUSTOMER SERVICE WON'T GIVE ME A REFUND, EVEN THOUGH THE TICKETS THAT I CHOSE ARE NOT EVEN GUARANTEED. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM! THE COMPANY IS OFFERING TICKETS THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND MOST LIKELY YOU WILL GET OTHER SEATS FOR A LESS VALUE, WITH THE RISK OF BEING DUPLICATES TICKETS

ONCE AGAIN, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF BUSINESS. THERE IS SO MANY BAD REVIEWS ABOUT ONLINE CITY TICKETS THAT I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW ARE THEY ALLOWED TO KEEP DOING THIS. HOW MANY BAD REVIEWS AND LEGITIMATE CHARGEBACK AGAINST ONLINE CITY TICKETS SHOULD BE DONE SO THEY CAN PAY FOR THEIR FRAUDULENT PRACTICES?

On 01/23/2018 I purchased tickets thru onlinecitytickets for the Elton John concert at the valley view casino for the 01/29/2018 at 0800pm. When I called the 1800# I was told that the tickets were for 01/29/2019 a year later. Nowhere on onlinecitytickets web page does it indicate I was buying tickets for 2019. They only used day and month when writing the date. My email address [email protected]

This company uses the domain "majestic.theatresanantonio.com" that leads people to believe to be the official website of the actual theater (also the first one tho show up in Google), then in provided vague information about the tickets being sold and very poor quality to identify the location of the tickets being sold.

There is a disclaimer in gray letters stating that the company it's a "rel-sale" service, but its easily not seen right away.

In my case, i ended up paying50% more that what I should have paid ($100), I hope to this company drops the misleading domain name and adds the face value of the tickets they are selling on their website.

I was on the Infinite Arena website to order tickets for a concert. My browser crashed and when I went back to the site (or so I thought it was the site) to order the tickets I did not notice I was on another site.. After clicking through and paying I realized I had ordered from online city ticketing rather than the arena itself. As it turns my tickets were $180 more than the ones on the Arena site. I immediately called to see if could stop my charge and they said no. I asked if they would be willing to lower the service charge as I was unaware at the time of purchase it was so high since I was unaware I was even on their site. They said no.

Here is the issue - Online city pops up when you type in the actual arena name (correct name - Infinite Energy Center but this pops up infiniteenergy.arenaduluth.com/‎) . Online city has purposely made their url similar to trick people into purchasing tickets from them. .I get it in order to get business they have to trick folks into purchasing from them.

From your phone you are not able to see clearly that this is not the actual arena - the sites even look similar...Online City is using pure subterfuge to take unsuspecting peoples money. I would be happy to order tickets from Online City if they would be above board, state what they are doing clearly, that they are in fact not the VENUE (not easy to decipher on a phone) and not bolster on such incredibly high service charges. As a matter of fact I ordered circus tickets from them in the past and the charges were acceptable.

When I spoke to Online City for the 2nd time and mentioned I had ordered tickets from them in the past and the fees were not so unreasonable- the supervisor informed me it depends on the event. I get it now. They totally pick and choose which events they would like to add higher service rates to and which they would not---price gouging!!!!

I would love to see this business put out of business. They are nothing more than scalpers.
