One For Merchants Reviews
This company (under which ever name you stumble accross it) will lie to get a contract signed.
The pitch, 1% flate rate processing even for card not present transactions. No monthly fees. (when I questioned my sales guy Larry assured me the fees in the application were pre added, but would not apply to my account because he had neither checked nor circled them before I signed them) a week later, I went back over the document he sent after I signed, and called the service number to verify what I was told, I was informed yes that was correct.
When my card reader came in the mail, it came complete with a contract with fees not even listed on the paper work I signed added in. I called the company and asked to cancel my service, and was informed that, even though I did not activate my card reader, there would be a $350 calcellation fee if I did not keep the reader for at least 3 months. At the end of 3 months they were supposed to credit my account $50. I was told to just hang on through those 3 months, and after if I was not happy, they would cancel and refund all monthly fees to my account. I asked to double check the fee, I was informed it would be $25 a month even if I did not use the processor.
So I downloaded the app, and activated my processor. I the time I have had this service, the app for processing cards has worked once or twice. I have called to trouble shoot, and amazing, there are never notes on my account that I had called previously to report issues. I figured that I will just ride out the 3 months (ended up being closer to 6 because life got busy).
When I called to cancel, Agustin asked if I would be happy if they only charged the $25 a month. I told him that I was not going to keep the service because of the dishonesty of the company, and the fact that their processing app has not worked for me. I again got the story that there were no records of my calling and reporting issues with the app, or trying to trouble shoot.
I am waiting to see if they charge a early termination fee, which there is not supposed to be, according to the many lying sales guys I have spoken to.
I could not find any negative reviews on this company when I signed up, and now I know it is because the owner keeps opening the company under different names. This company has previously operated under the names of ElitePay Global and Ironwood Payments.
I found this report on here and it is very close to what this company is doing to me: This company solicited to sell a credit card reader such as Apple One Pay. They reported that they would take a certain percentage per credit card sales that was competitive with the more popular services such as Square or those that banks offer. At the final sign on, there was an agreement that indicated that there would be a montly fee, which was not specified in the initial agreement, nor in the final agreement. The fee was not indicated. When I pressed to know what that fee would be, they finally gave me an amount.
(I take a small amount of my income via credit cards and so had they had informed me initially that there was any monthly fee, it would have caused me to decline interest in their product). I let them know that I was not interested in their service and asked for a way to return the "free reader" that they had sent me. I was given a phone number and after several phone calls and finally an email was able to recieve and return a cancellation of services form, which I immediately returned. I was given an address to return the reader to. I sent the reader back via UPS and the package was returned indicating that there was no such business at the address provided. Over the last 3 months, they have submitted charges above what they indicated would be the montly service charges. I worked with my bank to stop payments but the name used was changed, making it difficult to fight.
