In the central Texas area in regards to electricity (electrical) customers, there seems to be a requirement that we need to have a "SMART METER" installed with all the promotional blah, blah attached to its benefits. These meters are under the control of ONCORE (from what i have researched) which gives them the ability to shut off electricity at will for whatever the reason without a service person being present. Also it provides then usage information so they can charge a tricky item called DELIVERY CHARGE based on total watts used during the billing period.
If a person were to opt out of the smart meter they would be charged (it varies) in the hundreds of dollars for reverting back to the rotary system plus an additional monthly charge of having a meter reader. In addition there is question on electrical frequencies emitted by these smart meters as per various reports on the Web... Deborah Tavares of "Stop the Crime" being just one example. On a personal note ...electricity charges went from a average of $250/mo summer of 2017 to a top so far of $700+ for 2018....i.e, the average retirement person drawing social security has appx 40% of their income for just electrical use. This is nothing more than a rigged monopoly in my estimation and doubt if the Texas PUC will ever clean house.....
I've been trying to get my power turned on at my residential condo since June 1st, 2018. I'm writing this on June 27th, 2018!
I've called Oncor so many times to request a technician to come look at the broken meter and over the past 27 days all I get is some incompetent call center who submits a support ticket online to some other incompetent technician as a remedy to this problem. 27 days so far!!!
They are charging me for electricity since June 1st when apparently service was turned on.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get a professional from their company to turn my power on!
I keep calling, telling them to refer to all of the notes from past calls, waiting for a competent technician to turn my power on.
I'm still waiting.
This is absolutely ridiculous and this company shouldn't be allowed to service ANY residential or commercial building. They should not be allowed to do business anymore until someone audits and fixes this problem.
They have a switch lock on property belonging to me because of a previous tenant failure to pay their bill. They will not allow electric power to be turned on resulting in me not being able to rent the property. I have faxed a notarized affadavit with a copy of the property tax receipt showing me as the owner and a copy of the court records showing that the tenant that owes them money has be evicted. To hold my property hostage and cost me money because some one else owes you is illegal. Oncor electric delivery is engaging in illegal activity and will be filed on Dec the 11th 2017 in Lamar county tx for lost rent and they can explain to the courts why they chose to hold property illegally hostage.
We had a tornado come through Fort Worth last year causing downed power lines. Ours was one of the downed lines. Oncor come out and replace the line using cable that was too short. The power line was so tight that the first storm in April of this year caused the line to pull away from the house. We had to have a new eye hook installed and then called Oncor, our energy delivery company, the ones that caused the line to be too tight, back out to reattach their power line to our house. Bear in mind that we did not lose power during this lastest storm. I got my bill and they are trying to charge us for attaching their power line.
