On 9/17/2018 I hired Joe Monticello to remodle my master bathrrom. Although his price was high, I agreed to pay him $11,400 for demolition & removal, electrical, plumbing, construction and installation of tile. I gave Joe a deposit of $3800 (1/3) two weeks before he started the job. After the 1st day I already encountered a problem with Joe. His workers filled a waste management dumpster bag with a lot of tile, a toilet, vanity, jacuzzi and sheetrock etc. The workers set the bag 6" inside of my garage so I couldn't close my gargage door. I immediately called Joe and asked him to move the dumpster bag and get a small container instead. When Joe saw what had happened, he started to curse & swear about his workers and proceeded to call them idiots. Joe tried moving the dumpster bag by pulling it with his truck & ripped the straps off immediately because of the heavy weight. These bags are designed to hold a maximum of 3300 lbs, Joe had put twice as much garbage in the one bag.

He ordered a 2nd bag the next day because he realized that waste management would not be able to remove the first bag because of the excess weight and condition of the bag.

On Wednesday 9/19/18 Joe started to do the plumbing. When I asked Joe if he was pulling permits for this job, his response was "I don't provide permits" and assured me that I wouldn't need one. That was strike 2 and a major Red Flag. That evening I called a master plumber who inspected Joe's work. The plumber was appaled to see what Joe had done. Joe did not replace most of the 30 year old parts (PVC, trap, coupling etc) and informed me that Joe used the wrong type of plumbing glue as well. I had to pay the master plumber another $750 to fix what Joe had done and finish the plumbing correctly. The next day I asked Joe politely to remove the 2 WM dumpster bags from my driveway and asked him for a partial refund. He did neither. I was then forced to file a police report against Joe Monticello and On Time Interior Contracting LLC for deception and fraud. I also realized later when Joe measured my bathroom, he had me purchase approximately 40 boxes of tile. I had to return 15 boxes because Joe's measurements were extremely inacurrate. Another Red Flag. I am working with a licensed, insured and bonded contractor now and couldn't be happier. This year alone, I replaced my roof, two water heaters, painted my house and had some masonary work done. Every contractor that worked in my home was extremely professional and excellent at their respective craft. This is another reason why I am filing this report. To protect the reputation & integrity of contractors that are legitimate, hard working and honest.

Do yourself a favor and Never hire Joseph Monticello and On Time Interior Contracting LLC from East Hanover, NJ. Joe is highly manipulative, an excessive liar and has a PHD as a con artist. He is deceptive, deceiptful and just a bad person. Just google his name and you will find out everything you need to know about Joe. Unfortunately for me, I did not vet Joe from the beginning.

Peter Nagy (response)

Peter Nagy you have some nerve spinning this trying to make me look bad. Everybody in our town said you were going to beat me and not to take the job. As you are all over the internet as a SCAMMER and a CON ARTIST! (First red flag) The only reason why I took the job was because I coached your son in football and have mutual friends in town.

You changed the project three separate times as well as the start date. You made me meet you at several tile stores for several hours. Called me on my cell phone all hours of the night to discuss possible project changes. Not to mention you changed the measurements of the job three times as well as the original tile selection. Not only did I give you my discount at the first tile store but I told you to deal with my glass guy directly so you could save even more money not having to deal with a middle man.

As this was a two-week working day project you insisted we work in third installments which I happily agreed. You were $800 short with the deposit ( 2nd red flag). When Me, Peter and his life partner discussed permits, he said that he would take care of all necessary permits with the town and not to worry about it (3rd Red flag).

Monday: Demo

Tuesday: Framing

Wednesday: Plumbing

Thursday: Electric

Friday: Clean up (Ready for sheetrock)

After Pete brought in several "experts" to inspect our work everyday of the week. His only concern was that we didnt change out a hot and cold water shut off that was not in the bathroom but in a closet. This was not discussed in our original agreement and I said I would take care of it at no extra charge.

As agreed upon verbally and in text messages. We would square up with the 2nd installment Friday when all the rough was completed (Demo, framing, electric plumbing) and the walls were ready to be closed up. He tells me everything looks good but he isnt paying me until everything is finished. Very calmly I reminded him that was not our agreement and he was the one that wanted to pay in thirds. He told me the best he could do was $500 and he would give me the 2/3 balance when I finished. I explained to him that was not our agreement and if I am not getting paid for the work I can not continue the job. He then told me to get the 2 Bagsters off his property or I would be sorry. Again I explained to him the deposit money you gave me covered the demolition, framing, plumbing and electric. Garbage removal is the last piece of the puzzle in any construction project and he did not yet pay that portion of the job.

After being harassed through phone calls and text messages for two days straight. I had to go to the East Hanover police department and file a harassment report.

I did everything that I said I would do on this job and was there every step of the way. Pete was upset that he wasn't able to beat me for the 2/3's balance on the job and had to pay $340 to remove the garbage himself.

***NOT TO MENTION***

YOU WERE BRAGGING TO ME IN YOUR KITCHEN ABOUT HOW YOU BASICALLY MADE A LIVING SCAMMING PEOPLE THROUGH BOGUS CREDIT REPAIRS WITH CREDIT PROS AND HOW YOU GET HAND FED "SUCKER" FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS!!

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS GOOGLE PETER NAGY SR. EAST HANOVER AND YOU'LL GET TO SEE WHAT A "REPUTABLE" PERSON HE IS... DISGUSTING!!!!
