On GiftCards.com, the link to buy "Bulk Gift Cards" takes you to sister company OmniCard.com, where you do not purchase "gift" cards, they sell "reward" cards in order to avoid many federal and state regulations on prepaid gift cards. I received one of these cards from my employer in December 2015, not as a part of any reward program, but as essentially cash, and it expired in less than a year and all of the funds were reclaimed by OmniCard, who have no recourse available.

Somehow they are the top google search result for "Bulk gift cards" when they have no open loop (visa, mastercard etc.) gift cards for sale. False Advertising until you get to their actual website, where they are very careful to avoid the word "gift" when describing their products, and of course nowhere up front does it mention that their cards expire in 1/5 the time required of similar products by federal regulation.

I bought several hundred dollars worth of $10 referral gift cards from this company for my customers who refer their friends/family to me. Was unable to give them all away before the gift card expiration date. When I called to get the unsused balances transfered to new cards, they informed me that they keep any funds that wasn't used on any cards I didn;t give away prior to the expiration. NO TRANFERS< THEY JUST KEEP MY $$! So beyond the fees they took from me to sell me the cards, they kept and extra $60 for themselves for the 6 cards that expired. "It was in the fine print when you bought the cards from us online" they responded. RIPOFF!!

GREEDY!

YOU TOOK ALL MY MONEY ON MY CARDS. ALL 9 OF THEM. YOUR CARD WAS SOOOO DIFFICULT TO USE AND NOW MY CARD EXPIRED LAST MONTH 01/19 AND YOU WON'T GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. YOU ARE RUTHLESS PEOPLE, GREEDY AND NO HEART. I DON'T LIKE YOU AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.

Greed

My rating to you today February 12, 2019 is 0 (zero) star. You do not deserve a star because you hurt the little people like us. I have 9 unused cards that expired in 10/2018 and 01/2019. My first call, the lady on the other line told me that my fund expired when my card expired. (That's it, no emotion, no regret, it's their law) My second call, Manny, was nice and explained to me in a professional way that because it is a reward card, the fund expired when my card expired. There is nothing I can do about it but to call the company that ordered the card from them. So I did call thinking may be it can be done where they can reorder the card again, but needless to say, I was turned down because there is nothing that can be done.

I am so very disappointed. I feel that Omnicard is doing me wrong.

I try to save money for my children and got paid $10 per month and now I lost it all because of the expiration date on the card. This is hurtful and heartless. The sad part is I thought I was saving money but it turned out I was just giving it back to Omnicard for free. I really feel bad and want to do something but I don't know what else I can do.

Attempted to use Omnicard for a $67 online purchase. Card was declined but card was debited by Omnicard. I called and they told me it would take 5-7 days to credit. Called back on 12/19 and they told me it would credit on 12/20. Called on 12/20 and they told me 12/23. I don't know if I'll be credited or not but think 10 days has been too long to wait already. It took mere seconds to debit the card, why so many days to credit the card?

My company provided me $3000 in Visa debit cards in May 2014 (two cards $2000,$1000). I used a portion of one of the cards in Nov. 2015 and attempted to use the remaining balances in Nov. 2016 however both cards declined. I was embarrased so I used my credit card for payment. I contacted Omnicard and no explaination was provided. I confirmed that I still had $1800 remaining on the cards so I figured I would use the balance for an upcoming trip. I tried to use the reamining balance once again in Sept. 2017 to book flights and discovered that both cards had expired in May. The expiration date was printed on the cards so I should have noticed, however it just wasn't something I was expecting. I spoke with Omnicard several times through several "levels" of folks. Everyone I spoke with said there was nothing they could do. One of my calls to their "second level supervisor" Ron (ID-00413), I asked for the phone number to his supervisor and he gave me HIS cell phone number to get me off the phone! Each time I called they provided several lame responses such as I should contact my company to see what they can do. Ya, meaning my company would have to give me $1800. Everyone read me the same corporate approved responses such as my company agreed to the terms, etc. Let's be real, my company certainly didn't want to give Omnicard $1800, which is what happened. Omnicard told me one of the cards had not be activated. I have my cell phone records to prove that I called their number to authorize the cards. Additionally, I called a couple times to confirm my balance. The cards were activated. Because some retailers place a hold on your card for more than the charge, the card will decline if your card does not have a high enough balance. That means these cards are VERY hard to use and almost always will have some remaining balance that's unused. Convenient for Omnicard huh? Think of the amount of money they make from unused balances. In my situation, I have written proof the retailer was authorizing the correct amount with no hold, however Omnicard did not care. Most giftcard laws ensure a card is valid for five years, however it seems Omnicard gets around these laws by calling these "reward cards" vs giftcard?

I was using the $1800 to take my son to Disney World. He knows about the trip and I don't know what I going to do! What kind of company is this heartless to a little boy! I can understand there possibly being some small fees, etc. however "stealing" $1800 from someone just because you can is aweful. I feel bad for the folks who can't find a better job and have to work for this terrible company. Omnicard will likely reply in an unprofessional manner to this report as they have many others. They have a pattern of blaming the customer and everyone but themselves to justify their deceitful business practices. Searh online for Blackhawk Network and their subsidiaries including Omnicard. There are A LOT of online complaints so RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! We all can't be wrong and there is a obvious bad trend with these companies.

I've contacted VISA, the Ohio AG office, CFPB and will try the BBB, FTC, my State Representative and anyone else I can think of. Posting my story on social media, reaching out to local media and a variety of these reipoffreport type sites, I hope will save others for my situation. I gotta think my efforts will be seen by enough people to cost these dirtballs more than $1800 in business.

Rip off

I received 3 x $100 dollar cards and 3x$25 dollar cards from United Airlines as a compensation for delayed and missed flights home to Scotland . I've had these cards now for nearly 3 weeks and I still cannot get them activated to use. Their website is always down. Then I'm told they are not for use in the UK.....?.... So not only have I been misled by the airline, I've been ripped off by being given cards that I cannot use. Then you find out that Omni reclaim any money on the cards that is not used by a specific time limit?.... How is this company still allowed to trade? Total crooks

The company i work for decided to reward us employees that made the effort to being healthy going through a series of heath assessments and work out challenges. For doing so, they reward us with visa gift cards. I finally got mine. I received one in the amount of $100 and another in the amount of $50. I decided to make purchase at walmart for $138 using the complete amount for the $100 card and $38 from the $50 card. When the item didn't work, i returned the item back to walmart and they said they had to reimburse me on the original card. I gave them the only card i had left, the $50 card with a remainder of $11. The transaction went through and i now had a single card with the amount of $150. Well, when i went to target to buy a similar item the card would not work. This is when i started calling the 800 number on the back 5 days ago. It is now monday morning at 10 am. I've made 10 phone calls between thursday morning and this morning, each one more frustrating than the last. They told me they placed a temporary block on my card due to the "reloading" of the card on a non-reloadable card. Every representative i've spoken too agrees that i have a current balance of $150 on the card but keep referring to a "second level department" that has to make a decision and it takes two business days. I asked what decision had to be made because the money is still my money and it's confirmed that the balance is $150. They just keep telling me that a decision will be made in up to 2 business days on unblocking the card for use. I spoke with a supervisor on friday who, after a long conversation, "expedited" the claim ticket. I just got off the phone Tenth call) with a supervisor who still will not let me talk to a representative at the "second level department" claiming they have no contact with them and it's impossible for me to speak with that department and when i had finally had it i refused to get off the phone until this matter was resolved and she gave me a warning that she was terminating the call if i "kept it up". After the third warning she hung up after telling me someone should be contacting me later today I've heard that multiple times in the past few days from omnicards). This is the worst customer service i have ever experienced. I will be sharing this with our corporate hr manager in hopes that next year they will use a different company for these visa gift cards. In the mean time i still do not have access to my $150 on the card
