In August 2014, OMG Computer Tech Support got over $500.00 from me promising to help clean up my computer & to be available for 1 yearfollowing for support. Not only did the remote work they delivered render my computer un-usable, the Federal Trade Commission shut them down in Nov 2014 for fraudulant practices.e,
To-date, I have not been successful with joining any class action or been able to acquire anyn kind of compensation . . . . . and I feel like an idiot for falling for these 'horse dealers.' Am angry & resentful & would very much like to see justice for these predators. They supposedly took in over $2,000,000 before a preliminary injunction was brought against them.
Is anyone aware of progress with this investigation? FTC, what is happening, if anything?
OMG tech support contacted me many times. After a lot of harrassing, I actually tried them and they seemed to do a good job, although way too expensive. the long I used them, the less I heard from them unless it was time to renew. When I told them no, they called me again and again. My last issue with them was that they were suppossed to be fixing my computer and instead, they killed it. I spent days on the phone with them, we'd be halfway through and I would get disconnected and no one would call me back. Then, after a month or so of getting sporadic help and losing contact constantly, I called and the number was disconnected with a recoreding about them being temporarily closed down by the government. Ever since, I keep checking back and it does not seem like anything is happening. I would love to get my money back or a new computer, but I don't know who to contact. I have responded on their website many times re: these issues with no answers. If anyone is planning any kind of suit, please fill me in. Thanks for your help, I was an idiot. I got a call the other day from some other place called Frog tech or something and when I mentioned that I never had any compaany other than OMG Tech support, he said that they took their clients over. Then I proceeded to tell him that they F****up my computer and I haven't had one since, he hung up on me and has never called back. Maybe this one needs to be checked into as well. He called me from 888-387-1685. When I called it today, it just has a machine saying thank you for calling Technical Support, your call is important to us and I hung up. Anyone else getting these calls? MLD
