We currently reside with my mother in law who is 70 years old and has dementia. Her bedroom is an addition on the back of our house. It started leaking as a result of a hail storm that came through. We filed a claim after paying them premiums for 4 plus years. An adjuster came out and shortly after we recieved a check for 1200.00 along witg a list of repairs to make.
After completing the repairs they sent us a revised list of what needed to be done and no additional funds. Then they dropped us because the entire back roof wasn't replaced (with $1200.00). I called and spoke to a woman in customer service and asked her why they would send us a list and check for the repairs and then send a revised list. She said that underwriting looked at it and wanted more done. Okay? Is it normal practice for a claim not to be underwritten prior to isuance of a check? No!!! It is not normal it is fraud!
She claimed that our roof was uneven (from photos) and that is why they were dropping our coverage. I assured her that our roof was not uneven and requested that they send some one out to inspect repairs that were done. She said they can't do that. I am just done! These people are crooks and they could care less about their customers. There is no integrity or ethical behavior coming from this company at all. Stay away from them unless you want to be ripped off!
