I bought a brand new Oculus Rift on October 23, 2016. Oculus VR provides a 1 year warranty. The Oculus Rift has a common problem with the headset HDMI disconnecting when the headset is touched. The main circuit board in the headset flexes when the headset is touched and it is common for it to go bad and stop working. Many people have had this problem and Oculus knows it is a common issue. I contacted Oculus Support in June, 2017 and sent them all of the information they requested. I sent a video showing that the headset disconnects when touched. youtu . be / nbyJYVRt1KU I sent them pictures of the serial numbers on the box and the headset (they were probably hoping I threw the box away). I sent them pictures of my receipt. I even sent them a video I had made of me unboxing the brand new Oculus Rift in my car after I bought it at the store. https://youtu.be/yU9chXVsK8s Oculus tried to trip me up in every way to avoid honoring the warranty on their product. I had every bit of proof they could want and more. I sufficiently proved that I bought a new Oculus Rift and when I bought it AND that it is defective.
I filed a complaint with the BBB and Oculus support dragged the complaint out for 6 months. Now the headset is actually out of warranty.
