On January 8th 2016, I received a letter from San Antonio, Texas stating that I am $100,000 in arrears. My exwife tried to open a second child support case against me in a different state than New York. Immediately I notified Texas that I already pay child support through New York. Texas informed me that its illegal for two states to take child support for the same child. Texas advised me thsat they will call NY and also suggested that I do the same, so I did.
Immediately as the father I was talked down to, I was refused the opportunity to speak with a supervisor and transferred around until finally reaching an answering machine and disconnected. Anyone who has tried to call these places understands that it takes 15 - 20 minutes just to talk to a human.
A very long story made short....... I continued going back and forth with NY and TX with NY always having another stipulation that needed to be met in order to close my case. all along I am getting notices of arrears from TX that effect my credit, liens on my pay from CA because TX tells NY I am delinquebt and NY tells CA and almost losing my security clearences at work because of it all.
Today April 6, 2018 I have an email from the payroll division stating they are taking another $283 from my pay because NY says Im in arrears. I am a Federal Employee and I have no say whether the money comes out of my paycheck or NOT! I have never missede a payment! I started calling around again trying to find help or get to the bottom of this matter and finally reached the NYCSEB and was immediately treated badly by the lady on the other end of the phone.
I explained how I have been talking between their office and Texas for two years, that two states trying to take money from me is illegal, that my ex has been living in TX for at least 5 yrs, that I do NOT have any arrears, that my ex is using a NY bank account to have the money sent to while living in TX and they have been made aware of ALL of this for years and she completely blew me off and asked me if I would like a PIN sent to my house.
