New York Post reporter Melissa Klein seems to be allowed to get away with character assassination in her column. Nobody seems to stop her there either, or check her work for accuracy, not the publisher Jesse Angelo or editor in chief Col Allan. No wonder people are saying Col Allan is about to get the boot. Just look at who he lets run wild in print.
The paper took on League Education & Treatment Center. Their report was all biased and not based on fact at all. Melissa Klein only talked to disgruntled ex employees. She didn't seek out anyone else to find out what was really going on. People could even figure out who the sources were from the content of what was in Klein's article.
League Education & Treatment Center treats a special needs population. It's been in business for decades and does the job very well.
There was a problem there with the old CEO who was Hannah Achtenberg Kinn. She is now gone from the company and good riddance! Kinn had been giving herself a salary that was outrageous. We hear it was somewhere about $550,000. Her severance package was supposed to be over $700,000. This is crazy because the place is run on Medicaid money and Medicaid money should not be spent on the upper management, not like this. Meanwhile the teachers get salaries like $23,000 and work with autistic and psychologically challenged population.
Klein's latest article went from rightfully complaining about Kinn's severance package to attacking the decent CEO who replaced her. The new CEO was called "nasty" and worse in Klein's article. He was accused of creating a bad atmosphere. He wasn't nasty at all. He had to get rid of a few people, yes, but some of the people who were hired by Hannah do not want to get up off a that thing and do their jobs! The only people who felt it was "bad atmosphere" were scared to death they would be fired next.
Melissa Klein seems to be talking only to people who do not know the full story and not seeking out the other side of the situation. Everyone at The League who hasn't got a problem with doing their jobs and doesn't want to sit around doing nothing all day misses the new CEO and would be very happy if he would return to work with us. The new CEO, Spauster, had even wanted to straighten out the salaries for the underpaid teachers. It's a loss that he's no longer there to everyone who isn't a jerk!
