Nutrisystem, Inc. Reviews
I cancelled my subscription 4 years ago. Since then I received 100+ pieces of junk mail advertising their service. I repeatedtly asked to be removed from their mailing list but still get their junk almost on a weekly basis. Due to their persistance I requested that my account and all information be deleted in accordance with CCPA.
Unfortunately they are ignoring my requests. This clearly shows they don't care about people. They just want to sell their s**+**y service.
My husband and I decided to try Nutrisystem for some additional help loosing weight. I bought two systems, one for me and one for my husband. I was required to set up two accounts because you can not put a male and female together on one account, which made no sense to me. They were going to same place. I had called for customer service, but no one answered my call.
I was on hold for over 35 minutes. I called the next day and same thing, but I stupidly placed my orders anyhow. I also had bought my products on discount and it clearly stated that if I was to cancel before 14 days, I would be charged $125.00 penalty. I thought ok, there's a lot of food, no problem , I have meals for 14 days. The dinners and the lunches are disgusting and I threw them away. So I went online for cancellation and they don't allow online cancellation, you have to call.
I counted my days and moved my order back so it would not ship or charge me again. In addition, the price went up by over $100.00 per month and then some on both accounts. That's double to triple the price of the grocery store. For two people, it was now over $500.00 per month, which is no longer affordable. When I called, I was told I don't get charged BEFORE 14 days and so now I owe $125.00 per person cancellation fee.
I told the representative, that's not what I signed up for. She also claimed that it was automatic shipping. I said that makes no sense because I had paid for my first order and don't want any additional orders. They claim the 125.00 is due to automatic shipping charges....that's pretty expensive for a box that has not shipped yet. I also told her the dinners were disgusting and she told me that I had the option to get frozen meals...actually, I didn't because I picked Chef's choice, which was the basic starter package and there are no frozen meals in that package.
Because the price is so expensive and they were going to charge me regardless, I wanted to charges to go to a separate credit card. They just went ahead and ran the card I didn't want them to use so I got charged three times instead of 2. They do not stand by their refund policy, they do not provide good customer service, and their meals are awful. It feels like they are praying upon people who need help loosing weight. It was a complete waste of money ( a lot of money) and I would really recommend never using that system.
I purchased packages from Nutrisystems, which offer diet programs. They were to ship me various food, much of it was to be frozen in a styrophome container. When it arrived, it was thawed out and some of the food had spilled. I called Nutrisystems customer service. It took me around 40 minutes to get through.
On one call, i got a recording. it suggested i leave my name and number, and they would call back. They never did. I tried to access them via their chat. I was not able to. When I finally did reach a rep, he was not helpful. The food was being delivered at a location that i would be at for just a few days.
I asked if they could replace the food and get it to me via Fedex express so that I could have it in a day or two. The rep said no. They would not expedite for me. I then said that the order would do me no good at all, and I would just cancel and get my money back. The rep said no. That wasnt one of my options.
My only option was that they replace the food, which, in this case, did me no good because I would not be at this location by the time the food arrived. The rep advised that I didnt have any other options. I expressed disgust and then told him that I would need to now cancel my entire subscription with Nutrisystems, as I thought that their tactics were not honorable.
The rep advised that this was not an option either. I would be charged a cancellation fee of nearly $200 if I elected to cancel before my next order. I explained that I just did not want to deal with a company that did business in this fashion.
The rep said that he understood very well, and that I would have a choice: either buy a $300 additional order to avoid the cancellation fee. At that point, I had no choice but to accept the replacement order, even though it was no longer needed and to take the $300 order in order to avoid the cancellation fee. Not only are Nutrisystems tactics immoral, but it is very clear that they could care less about the consumer.
I made sure to ask the rep over the phone that if I didn't like to food I could cancel without any fees. "SURE you can, we even have a money back guarantee". I tried the food for 2 weeks and couldn't take it any longer.
I called to cancel today and had a very rude lady say I was going to pay $125 and there was nothing I could do about it. I said, fine, I'm going to blast nutrisystems like crazy. I know their Customer Aquistion Cost has to be in the hundreds, so hopefully I can stop a few people from being ripped off like me.
A request to delay the auto-delivery order until 2/14/2019 was requested and accepted two weeks before this date. However, the merchandise was shipped on 2/2/2019 and charged to the credit card. Only part of the order was received and that was frozen food that was completely thawed.
Supplier refused to issue a credit on 2/8/2019. Future orders have been cancelled due to continuing problems with orders not being received in good condition. Also, every time an order is processed, the credit card company freezes the card requiring a call verify the charge.
The food is awful, made me sick, diarreah and bloating, it’s all highly processed garbage. I wouldn’t give it to an animal. Website has hidden terms and conditions. You’ll unknowingly sign up for a subscription and be auto billed every month plus a cancellation fee. All terms and conditions are hidden. They are in the business of stealing, not weight loss.
Purchased online 5 dollars of vitamins and without any notification, stole 85$ from my checking account. Have tried to reach them at 303 772 5568 and other phones they have but never any answers
I joined the Nutrisystem Plan for $341.20 on 6/14/17. I did not receive all the items I was promised so I cancelled the plan on 6/25/17 which was within the 2 week time limit to cancel. I received a confirmation number but never received a credit to my bank account. I have called numerous times and was assured that the full amount would be credited to my account. As of this date 9/21/17, I have not received my credit due.
I had in hope of achieving a weight loss goal thought that subscribing to a well advertised program would help.
After a short trial decided that it was cost prohibitive and totally overpriced. When I tried to cancel on the internet I found that I could only delay this and did so. When I decided to call and cancel I was told of an unknown $125.00 cancellation charge. After spending now $515.00 for 10 pounds of food I now know how they can finace excessive TV promotions. This is not the American way.
I have tried unsuccessfully to cancel this horrible tasting food. My first week on the program (back in January) I was disgusted with the quality, ingredients, salt content, carb content, packaging, lack of instructions for the Turbo program, and of course, overall value. I should have just went to the frozen food isle in the grocery store and bought Lean Cusine or Adkins and started with Slim Fast. I called and emailed cancelling my subscription. I am still getting charged (three months later), no one can cancel me out, and couple weeks ago they delivered, for a $50.00 charge, a couple of cheap food containers that anyone could get at the local Dollar Generral or Grocery Outlet for $10.00. Now, I just received another email alert that they are charging me again, another $50.00, I guess for food or whatever they want to send me. I have no choice but to alert my bank card that this is a scam and fraud and to deny the charge since Nutrisystem's customer service can't and won't cancel me. I would highly suggest that anyone considering this program DIY in your local grocery isle and not believe their spokes persons or TV ads. It's better to stick with lean protien and veggies insteading of giving these people your credit card.
I joined Nutrisystem after hearing all the commercials stating "join Turbo Plan & guaranteed loss of 10 pounds in first month." Guaranteed means just that!! So I joined. I run 3 -3.5 miles EVERYDAY & did EXACTLY as per plan. I didn't even lose 5 pounds. But since it was guaranteed I called to cancel my membership. Was told ok but I was being charged $99.00 for "early cancellation". How can they charge early cancellation fee when it is a guaranteed plan?? Was told IF I paid for the "next shipment of food that costs over $300.00" then I could cancel. I said who in their right mind would pay another 300.00 for another month when the first month didn't work? They kept saying " oh you have to cancel the first month" How do you know if plan will or won't work if you cancel in the first month??? That makes NO sense. I had used 300.00 coupons to place first order but they made me give a credit card stating don't worry card won't be charged. Now I know why they get a card number.... so they can automatically charge a fee when you complain/cancel. I didn't ask for a refund!!! Although when I joined I thought that was what "Guaranteed" meant. They charged my credit card within hours of my cancelling. They have deceived me. It is false advertising to say in their commercials "guaranteed" . They guarantee NOTHING!! I have filed complaints with BBB, Consumer Action, Pissed Consumer, Consumer Affairs & every other website I can find & I WON'T stop until my 99.00 is refunded. I will write reviews EVERYDAY on facebook, twitter, blogs & the on internet & continue to tell everyone I meet about the false advertising of Nutrisystem.
Don't try Nutrisystem...the money back guarantee is a lie.
I started it in August, only lost 2 lbs, so decided to try another month. The meals were gross, so much slimy chicken. I ate them but started to gag the 2nd month when I opened the meals. I tried and tried to contact them, but all the phone numbers were for something else, not refunds.
I sent emails and was told they would answer within 2 days, but never heard back.
I finally decided to call the sales dept. The man who answered said because it had been more than 14 days since I received my first order that they would only refund a portion. He transferred me to customer service (I tried the email they listed and it said there was no such email addy)
The girl that he transferred me to became rude. She kept saying 14 days, and I told her I had never heard the 14-day refund policy. How can you know if a diet will work within 14 days?
I tried to explain that I was so determined for this to work for me, that I even tried a second month with no loss.
They are set-up to refuse refunds.
The customer service woman kept saying that I could not get a refund because it was more than 14 days, which I had never heard before. I used it the entire month and a couple more weeks to give it a good try.
