They won't give you your money back. Product wont' work and support lies about how to fix it. Their support tells me it's my computer and that I will have to pay a fee to fix the problem.

THE PEOPLE AT DRAGON ARE THIEVES. I HAD TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT WITH THE MISSOURI ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE BECAUSE THEY BASICALLY STOLE MY SOFTWARE:

Attorney General of the State of Missouri: This is the very abbreviated version of what happened. I recently tried to install my copy of Dragon Dictate voice recognition to my laptop after the machine that I was running it on died.... I have done much more than my required due diligence. I have in total about 20 hours invested, in trying to get Dragon to get the serial number on my property working. I have called tech support twice, they promised to call me back today because yesterday they came out of nowhere with the "unauthorized reseller" malarky. they did not call back, which its why I have decided I have no choice other than involving the AG's office.

See both the screen shots of the purchase at Amazon, and a photo of the actual physical disc and the serial number (that does not work) Let me take you on a short thought experiment: I steal Dragon Dictate 13 software from Nuace by some hacking method, and do not pay for the software.

That happens to be a Federal felony violation of intellectual property rights and carries with it several years in Federal prison. I am not an attorney, but after a cursory look at MO law it seems to me that Nuance is guilty of theft. When I bought the product it was with the understanding that they provide me with a working serial number. I have been without use of the product for 3 weeks now, and have had 20 hours of my time stolen from me. Do I have to put 2,000 hours into this until it is considered theft? No I think that my 20 hours exceeds that standard. We are talking about the criminal theft of my property by Nuace. However the attorneys want to classify it: theft by deception ,theft by fraud.... I don't care.

But it is clearly theft as I do not have my product and after considerable time in trying to get them to do so, they have flat out refused. The theft has already taken place and even if Nuance were to provide me with a working serial number, they would still be guilty of the crime. (If I rob a bank and then return the money, do I get off on the theft charges?)

I am in all seriousness asking the AG's office to issue an arrest warrant in the name of Paul Ricci, the CEO of Nuance since he is responsible for the actions of those in the corporation under him. And they have unambiguously stolen my personal property. If you balk that doing this it will speak volumes. You go after people violating intellectual property rights of the corporations with wild abandon, and long jail sentences. Here we have a case of the identical item not being stolen by me the Hoi polloi, but the identical item, meeting all of the legal definitions of theft, being stolen from me, by multi millionaire Paul Ricci.

The $64,000 question is: Will Paul Ricci be treated the same under the law as i would be for stealing the exact same item? Or are the laws just applicable to the great unwashed masses, and not the privileged likes of Paul Ricci? Besides the criminal prosecution of Mr Ricci (if we had even a remotely just, "justice system") I am seeking a copy of the latest Version of Dragon Dictate Professional, mailed to my PO box. That or $1,000 for my lost time, weeks of lost productivity due to not having access to voice recognition, and last but not least considerable emotional distress. I know you can not do all of that BUT you can prosecute Mr Ricci, just like you would me if I did the exact same thing to them. ---- The Missouri Attorney General's Office has successfully received your complaint. Your Incident Number is CC-2017-05-007552

I recently purchased a copy of Nuance's Dragon Naturally Speaking Premium (version 13).

The product is advertised as so "user-friendly" that one does not even need a keyboard. This is nonsense.

The truth is, it works with certain applications are registered with nuance it only works with four email providers, so if you have your email through your Internet provider you are out of luck as it will not work.

It works with certain websites that are again registered with nuance, but if it is not a website that they have interfaced with, i.e. job boards such as indeed.com, career builder.com or many other common websites, the application simply will not work. You must manually type everything.

I spent 90 minutes on the phone with Nuance customer support only for them to give me a work around which is so onerous it is faster to just type in the necessary fields.

This product is absolutely useless in anything other than Microsoft Word.

Ironically, I purchased this product because I had the previous version (version 12) which while full of hicups, worked with any website I went to. When I heard that the new version was completely web friendly, I purchased it at a cost of $113.

Prior to loading the new version I had to delete the previous version which I purchased over three years ago. When I attempted to have customer service reinstate my previous version, they said unless I have a receipt they could not help me. I'm sure some people keep receipts forever, but I personally don't keep receipts for over three years for a product that was working fine up until recently. He continually put me on hold and claimed he was searching their records my original product registration and found nothing. I don't even know how that's possible, since I continually received updates from nuance about the product via email.

I further inquired as to how I return version 13 and get my money back, and they simply would not provide me with any recourse. I was instructed to write and "letter of intent" but he refused to tell me where to send it to.

Naturally, the customer service department is located in India. While I understand that's common practice it would at least be helpful if those who answered the customer service line had at least a decent command of the English language which this gentleman did not.

When I pressed him for this information, simply hung up. 90 minutes on the phone, and he just hung up. I am livid.

I strongly, STRONGLY suggest THAT NO ONE PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT.

You will be very unhappy with the product and the company could not care less.
