I received the first call at 10:20 then at 10:27 I called back and it didn’t ring it went straight to music. A rude woman answers and I told her I have a missed call from them. She tells me to hold on. Then she says my full name and tells me my last four numbers of my social security. All I said was mhmm she told me that she’s calling to collect an outstanding debt on behalf of HSBC that was paid off or discharged in 2007 and that if I don’t pay the IRS will take action and I needed to make a payment plan now. So I told her that I needed to talk to my financial lawyer and he could speak with them because I’ve NEVER heard anyone read someone’s social security number over the phone. Something didn’t feel right. She proceeded to ask me what the name of my lawyer was and I told her I’m not disclosing anything else she said “I’m writing you refused” and she hung up on me.
