I paid him upfront for the bricks and materials. They did start to clear the ground for the driveway. He promised to put down plastic first but never delivered any. Two days later he came with different workers. Then his previous workers forced their way onto my property demanding payment as he had not paid them. I had to pay them to get them to go. He also wanted my cement and sand to finish the job as he said the money was finished
I paid him R 2000 on the Friday to get more bricks. On the Saturday he messaged me demanding more money to fix his car. He claimed he had used the money to pay the workers. On the Monday he arrived demanding R 3500 and agreed in the presence of our Security company to supply another 4 tons of new, matching bricks. In desperation, I agreed as the driveway was unfinished
He delivered about 600 rubble bricks, picked off at some dump. They were all covered in cement and most of them were full bricks. He explained to me that he needed the full bricks to do the edging
Then he disappeared, leaving me with a sloppy unfinished driveway and the wrong materials
I have contacted him several times to get him to fix this problem but he does not respond.
