BUYERS BEWARE OF NORTHRIDGE TOYOTAS DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES AND FRAUD
Juan Lujan was my sales rep. Apparently he doesn't work there anymore. I can only guess why.
Everything seemed so good when I first went in. I purchased a new car for myself and referred my Mom to this place. When she went in things seemed to go well with her as well. Except they said that her credit wasn't good enough to get the car at the low payment she wanted. They asked if I would co-sign and I explained that I love my Mom but I have never co-signed for anyone and that's how I kept my A+ credit. They convinced me to "co-sign" because of course she's my Mom and I would do anything for my Moms...
Problem is that they lied straight to my and my Mom's faces. They said I was co-signing...but cone to find out, I was the MAIN signer on the account and my Mom was put as the co-signer.
I texted Juan and asked him to fix the "mistake" but after a month of trying to get a hold of the guy or any of his managers, he calls me and tells me it wasn't a "Mistake ". That that's what his managers coached him to say in order to make the sale. That they say it all the time to their customers in order to make sales. This is FRAUD at its finest. I called Toyota corporate and they took your complaint and said a manager from this location would call me in a few days. It's been more than a week now and no call.
I had four other people to refer for new cars... I won't be referring anyone now.. My Mom was getting this car to build her credit but her being the co-signer has no value to anyone's credit. And now it looks like I purchase 2 new cars on my credit which lowered my score
The worse part about this is that I know the car buying game because I've purchased so many cars before and have friends in finance and sales at other dealers...and it's so crazy to me that there's different prices for the same car for different customers...when we were sitting there, they knew I knew my stuff..and because of that they felt comfortable enough to joke about an Asian man and lady getting screwed on her deal.. $5000.00 more than what part paid for the car and how their sticking the extended warranty package at full price...DISGUSTING! DO these people not have families of their own? Do they want their Mom, sisters brothers or Dad's to get ripped off? How can you go home and sleep well after ripping people off.
If I could give this place a negative star I would. Who lies to their customers to get sales? I mean I know lots of people do but someone as big as Toyota? This is disgusting and unacceptable.

So I called corporate to see if they can do anything about the fraud that's taking place at this dealership. They said a Maria Serrano would call me soon.
A month later and still no call.
Finally after I try to contact her every day for a week she calls.
She tells me that since I signed the documents there's nothing they will do for me. So I told her that although her employees lied to me and told me I'd be the "co-signer" on my Mom's car that they're ok with that? She basically told me I'm screwed.
It is complete FRAUD what they're doing here...and they could care less that their employees are saying a person is going to be a "co-signer" when the end result is them being the main signer on the account.
So according to Maria Serrano and all of Northridge Toyota, they can sell you a dream and promise you everything....and you can put your trust in them them that they're not lying...but if you sign the paperwork you're screwed. To the FTC that's FRAUD and is illegal in the state of California.
Maria Serrano said that their meaning of "co-signer" is that the person "co-signing" will be the main signer and the other person will be the co-signer. Why would I need a co-signer if my credit is fine. She apologized that theu didn't explain it better but offered nothing to make things better..NOTHING!

I will NEVER go back there again after buying 3 cars from there nor will I ever refer anyone.
