I purchased a vehicle service agreement for $2850 from North Shore Honda, underwritten by the Zurich Insurance Company on October 4, 2021 and cancelled it with Zurich on November 18, 2021, well within in the full refund cancellation date. Under the Zurich contract.
I should have gotten a full refund ($2850), but instead North Shore Honda submitted a check for a refund to Santander Consumer Credit (the holder of my auto loan) in the amount of $565 which was cashed by Santander on 12/13/2021.
Santander was supposed to apply the full $2850 to my auto loan. As of today, 3/11/2022, the missing $2285 has still not been received by Santander. Based upon the Santander interest rate for the loan, the outstanding refund since 12/13/2021 is accruing interest of $0.9065 per day, or about $91.00 to date, bringing the amount owed by North Shore to about $2376. I feel that this is fraud on the part of North Shore Honda. I have left voice mail messages with them to no avail.
