North American Relocation Reviews

Where do I start??

First, they told me I would be charged by WEIGHT. I wasn't. I was charged by cubic feet. When I called to complain, they said they pick the 'cheapest' way to ship it. Really? Because the guy who picked up our stuff said they pick the most expensive. Not only that but they charged a premium for the additional 159 cu.ft. they claimed we needed to the tune of an extra $900!! During my complaint I was told their QA person couldn't get a hold of us so it was tough luck. Really? This guy called at 6 pm on a Saturday, doesn't work Sunday, and our pick up was on Monday. We called back but got voicemail and of course never received a call back. All a ploy to over charge.

I was told I'd receive my belongings within a week. That timeframe was also doubled.

Throughout this ordeal they were IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of. I sent emails and left voicemails and finally threatened to cancel their contract before they picked up my items.

In hindsight I wish I would have!!! Oh, did I mention they LIED about being a broker until AFTER I signed the agreement and put down my deposit? The pick up went smooth enough, but when I received my belongings there was so much damage I'd wished I'd just bought all new furniture instead of shipping mine!

They lost the legs for my couch, totally destroyed a solid wood book case and hanging wooden shelving unit, everything (literally EVERYTHING) was either scuffed or dinged. Boxes were crushed, storage totes were obliterated, everything was filthy. Some of it looked like it had been dropped in a mud puddle.

Back to my complaint... They acted very indignent saying, "Well I'm confused. Why is this an issue now?" What kind of response is that? The fact that there IS an issue is the point...not when it became an issue.

These people totally disgust me.

Lied to me about being able to pickup my daughter's car and deliver to Seattle. Lied about giving me a refund. Basically stole $300 from me.

I called George Montclaire at North American Relocation/Fast Track Auto Carriers LLC to book my just graduated daughter's move to Seattle. They were going to move her furniture and items and her car, which has a special adaptation for her to drive (she is handicapped), and I needed it in Seattle the 2nd week of June. I paid my deposits for the move of the vehicle and the items. When the time came to get the items, they were picked up. When the time came to get the car, the company simply didn't pick it up. When I called to check, they said their truck couldn't pick up the car on time, and I would have to pay a lot more $$$ to get the car to Seattle, and even then they said they couldn't get it there on time. Dozens of phone calls. Dozens of e-mails. Time wasted. Fast Track Auto Carriers finally admitted that they couldn't get the car to Seattle. So, they promised me a refund within 3 days, and I had to find a more reputable company (and pay a rush premium) to get my daughter's car to Seattle in time for her to start her new job and graduate school. That was the first week of June.

For the entire month of June, I was e-mailing and calling and getting the same information. We will refund your $300 deposit in 3 business days. In July, I turned it over to my Credit Card company to dispute the charge, since Fast Track continued to lie to me. Wells Fargo tried to get my money back, but the thieves at Fast Track wouldn't refund it, and I have e-mails from them saying they were working on it. North American Relocation and Fast Track Auto Carriers are lying, thieving grifters who should be put out of business, if not actually arrested for stealing.

I foolishly used this company twice. The second move occurred so quickly after the first move, and they were seemingly working the damage claim from the first move so I thought they were good to go - WRONG!

I have two claims against this company for a LOT of furniture and appliance damages and they have done absolutely ZERO to address the matter. I promptly submitted their claim forms after each move.

I have made numerous telephone calls and submitted numerous emails to no avail. I sent them a "last ditch effort" letter to get them to work with me or that I would have no choice but to seek legal remedy. That was over a month ago and I have received NO response!

I understand that damages are inevitable and unavoidable in large household moves, but this company will do absolutely ZERO to remedy/address the damages.

LOOK ELSEWHERE TO MOVE YOUR HOUSEHOLD!!

Off to a good start with the salesperson providing a timely quote for my move from NH to GA and then all downhill from there! I had a packing company pack all my household goods which were to be moved into storage for a few days as I had to close on my house. The list I provided of my initial inventory of unpacked furniture and belongings was calculated by North American as Articles List 33 Items, 128 Pieces to be moved at a cost of $4461.18. When the ACTUAL items after packing was provided to North American it decreased, Articles List 32 items, 122 Pieces HOWEVER North American then proceeded to provide a new revised price of $6328.92. YES less items now cost over $1,800 more!

My final now packed list was provided 48 hours prior to move date in advance to North American but their policy for any kind of refund (which is a pittance for what they ask upfront) is 72 hours. I immediately cancelled the move once I knew what type of company I was dealing with and went with a local reputable mover. At that point they tried to hold me hostage to the NEW quote by telling me they would take my deposit if I did not keep my appointment for the move and YES they did take my deposit of over $1300.

Keep in mind when you sign and give a deposit this does not mean you will pay the quoted amount they provided, EVEN when you have less items they can revise and charge more for less after the fact. Note, once they have your signature on the original quote you are locked in, and if you don't agree they can and will take your deposit should you cancel based on the NEW price! Beware.

Buyer beware! North American Relocation will bait you into signing their lock-tight contract and cancellation agreement. They will tell you exactly what you want to hear during their high-pressure sales pitch. Do not sign!! I canceled on the day of the move because I learned that everything I had been told by Andrew Becker was a lie. All of the conditions of the move had changed completely from what he had told me. Different moving company, entirely different process, different time frame.

Of course, the company states I am ineligible for a refund because I signed their contract. They don't care that they are messing up people's lives. It's only a matter of time before this company goes under and these criminals pop up doing business under another name. See for yourself, just do an internet search for the names of the owner and managers of this LLC and you'll see their criminal history. Shame on me for falling for their scam, but hopefully I can save someone else from doing the same.

I first contacted this company last March and was tempted by them with what I thought was a “low ball” quote that I figured was probably going to increase, but I had no idea they were going to put me in an impossible position with no options to make any other arrangements. The big mistake I made was working with a company that didn’t send someone out to physically look at what was going to be moved. They said that companies that send someone out add 30% to the cost. They told me that nobody sends someone out anymore to evaluate what you have.....it’s all done over the phone. After spending quite a bit of time on the phone that first day going over what was to be moved, they gave me a price of $4200. I had given them a description as best I could of the furniture we had and since we hadn’t actually started to pack anything in boxes yet, they estimated the number of boxes we would have based on the square footage of the condo we lived in and the number of rooms, etc. They actually called 2 days before our move day and when I went through everything again, I was told the price would be over $11,000 because I had more stuff than they thought and they said I’d have to give them an additional $3,000 over the phone on my credit card!! What could I do? We had to move in 2 days!!

It was the end of July, the busiest time of the year for moving. The person that bought my condo was moving in the day after we were to move out. Then, on the day of the move, the movers showed up and being the first and only people to actually see what was being moved told me we had way more stuff than they were told and that there was no way they could move me for $11,000. My wife was in tears that it was becoming more and more apparent that we were the victims of a huge scam. This was when we were now told for the first time that there were actually 2 ways to determine the cost of moving me. I could either do it by weight and the price would probably be even higher or they could just look everything over again and give me a firm price without weighing anything. Of course, I asked if they could price it both ways and I would choose the lower of the two, but they said I couldn’t do that and would have to choose one or the other right then and there.......doesn’t that sound like a scam? I knew we had a lot office furniture and that a lot of our boxes had books and files in them, so our stuff might be pretty heavy, so I was afraid that the price would really jump.

So, I asked them to give me a firm price without weighing anything and they told me the price was now going to be over $15,000!!! They required that I give them $8,500 in cash or by certified check and that I would have to pay the movers in Florida an additional $3,000. So, I went from $4,200 to more than $15,000!!! The actual movers were paid $11,500 and the brokers, who did nothing of any real value got paid $4,000!!!! What a scam!! What could I do?? We had to move! If I had known it was going to cost anywhere near that much, I would have gotten rid of more stuff or had the movers move the furniture and I would have rented a truck and moved the boxes myself or done something different.....but we had to move that day!! These guys take full advantage of the predicament THEY put you in!! Several days after we had moved, I contacted them and told them how dissatisfied I was with my experience with them and they eventually offered to give me a $500 refund! Are you kidding? When I told them that was unacceptable, they suggested I contact the actual moving company and ask them for a refund!! They were the people that actually did the move. I paid the so called broker nearly $4,000 and they didn’t really do anything of any value but start that whole mess. This company and their whole business model is a scam!!

This is the same scam artist running a chop shop under differnt name. The company is owed by a couple of criminals. PLEASE BE AWARE!!! LOOK FOR THE ADDRESS 200 KNUTH RD. This is probally not needed since they are currently under investigation by the AG. They will lye and steal your money. If you have made the mistake of giving any of these companies money call your credit card or bank NOW. If you speakto them its only going to fuel the fire when they tell you your beat!. If you pay by check its over. Its ileagal to put someone into a contarct giving them 72hr refund period then calling them after they are outside of that time frame hoping the change something on the inventory then demand more money or again the customer is beat. They push you to use the check by phone service offering discounts so you do not have normal dispute options like with a credit card.

They have written a very tricky contract that you never have a chance to read. In your estimate you will find a "binding estimate fee" this is what they cover up the broker fee as. This amount is simply a random amount of money your tricked into putting down as a deposit. Once that payment is made your then beat! If someone actually shows up on the requested move date that's when the real fun starts. Everything is the complete opposite of what you were told. The carrier has received no funds yet so they can charge you what ever they would like. This is just another south Florida phone scam! DONT FALL FOR IT! SIMPLEY PUT YOU CAN GO DIRECTLY THRU ANY MOVING COMPNAY YOU DO NOT NEED A BROKER. IN THIS CASE ITS SOMEONE TO ROB YOU BLIND THEN SELL YOUR JOB TO 2 MEXICANS AND A PICKUP TRUCK. These are bad people richard should stop stealing from people.
