DO NOT RENT FROM NORM'S RV. I rented an RV from Norm's RV a few months ago and have been dealing with this shady company for quite some time. I want buyers/renters to beware. Please read all the reviews as they speak for themselves, I sure wish I did before I rented as I would not have rented from Norm's RV.
I went to Norms for a rental and had such a bad experience. In my opinion, DO NOT RENT FROM NORM'S. Upon my return the staff was less than professional. One camp ground had high over hanging bushy tree's and brushed the top side of the RV. This was my first experience driving and this situation was unavoidable.
Upon my return, the staff was rude and condescending. I was polite and realized, I would have to pay for the blemishes to be buffed out, which I had no problem with. I reiterated, and followed up by email that I would like a quote before any work be done. I requested an estimate and kept getting the run around that the staff was working on the quote. I let them know to please communicate the cost before any work be done. I parallel got a second opinion based on photos and contrary to my requests, rather than allowing a professional "RV -detailer" to view the damage as they indicated both verbally and in writing, they quickly fixed and charged me more than triple that of other professionals. I later sent the quote they provided to other professionals and they claimed the charges were exorbitant to repair the light blemishes. I disputed less than the overcharge and Norm filed legal action. I still paid more than any of subsequent bids for the reapir. The cost of Norm's polishing was over $1,200 (this is outrageous, in my opinion and other profesionals).
Frustrating how Norms would not allow me to get another quote and even though they confirmed they would wait to repair, they quickly did the repair and over charged. Seems like there is motivation to charge extra. I returned the RV and he overcharged for repairs, they didn't honor their commitment and for Norm to file legal action for $600, makes me realize customer service is not in their repertoire. Norm, rather than spending time and money upsetting clients and responding to reviews online, spend the time to actually hear what customers want, perhaps your business will thrive.
You have so many choices on rentals, and to have to deal with a company that disregards it's clients, and potentially opens you up to legal action, the choice is clear. Do not rent from Norm's he has over 30 lawsuits and seems very litigious. No wonder there are only 3.0 stars for this merchant.
Clearly not the 1st time this has happened - See review from another similar situation -
"I rented an RV from Norms RV. On return they pointed out a scratch (small cosmetic anyway) that I think was already there and said I had to pay for it. They then had THEIR body shop provide a ridiculously high estimate $326 and kept it out of my $500 deposit. Repeated promises for the "supervisor" or owner to contact me were never fulfilled.... My advice it to stay far away from Norms RV in Poway California unless you want to get ripped off. I consider them a Very dishonest business.
If you rent from them you better take some serious time documenting every little detail and photograph it or you'll pay for them to repair things you may not have caused...and a lot more than is warranted if your do cause any damage."
