I sent Jan Hofherr $499, plus shipping and tax, for a binary trigger with a 2lb spring added to it, over 5 weeks ago (he said the worked great, ha had done 30 of them, and he owned them himself). I overnighted the postal money order, and it was received, cashed. He was out of town for a week (his wife was supposed to send it that week).
Later he said he had Covid-ok, no problem, I told him to take his time. He said he was better, and id get it wihtin a week. No problem. I didnt hear anything for another 10 days. I send another email, and he said id get it the next following week (this item was supposed to have been already made, bought at auction, online).
A week later I called, and suprised him- He certainly sounded pretty healthy on the phone...He said "Long covid is worse than regular covid" and "I may not really have this trigger". All he, or his wife had to do, was stick it in the mail (or just offer to refund my money), but I believe it didnt exist in the first place. I did some research, and Binary triggers are illegal in Florida (just like mail fraud is illegal-A felony, actually).
The manufacturers/distributors will NOT send binary triggers to Florida. My beef is that ive been taken for a ride, for 6 weeks now, and not nothing-no offer of refund-nothing. Jan stopped responding to my emails. He just had a previous customer from Gunbroker have to refund their credit card money back to them (not the other person on this page, but another person, about a week before I sent him my money)..He mentioned he doesnt do credit cards anymore and obviously this is why.
DO NOT SEND HIM ANY MONEY. Mail fraud involving a USPS money order is a felony, and that cant coincide with an FFL permit. I would be glad to take this review down, if I ever get my money back, but otherwise I will make sure hes persued by
