Nissan of Elizabeth City Reviews

"DISHONEST" I purchased a 2016 Nissan Maxima in February 2017. I drove 4 hours to make this purchase. All documents were signed and 30 day tags were placed on the vehicle. I received my hard licensed plate in the mail about 14 days after the purchase. When it was time to pay my first payment I had not received any information from my lender. I called my lender and was advised that I needed to contact the dealership. I called Nissan of Elisabeth City and was advised that the deal fell through. I asked if I needed to return the vehicle and I was advised NO they were going to get the financing done. I called time after time for months and was always told "not to worry" and EVERYTHING was fine. After having the vehicle for 7 months, on September 1, 2017 my car was recovered. When I called the dealership and spoke with the Sales Manager (who was very RUDE) I was advised they were not able to get me financed and that's why the vehicle was recovered AFTER 7 months! Nissan of Elizabeth City refused to refund my $3000 down payment! The dealership never contacted me...I always initiated all contact. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP!

I was desparate for a car and they knew it. I lost my car due to a repo and I wasnt even 2 months behind. It was almost paid for with only 2600.00 left. When my mom died in 2015, I lost some days of work and when I dont work, I dont get paid. Then summer came and I still had no work because school is closed for 2 months or more. So I thought bankruptcy was the way to go. It wasnt.

I was behind on almost everything but to keep my lights on and still pay household bills, I missed a couple of bankruptcy payments so they dismissed my case in August. Now I had to catch up what they didnt pay during bankruptcy. I gave Nissan a lump sum of 1728 in two payments and was told I'd be caught up. Come to find out, I wasnt. So they came to get my car and didnt even give me a chance to get my things out the car. I had to travel almost two hours to get my things as I tried to get up the 3000.00 they said I owed on balance.

I hitched rides back and forth to work and it was hard. I am a 64, soon to be 65 on the 12th of this month and I needed my own transportation. I was told by the sales manager at the time that he would give me 100.00 a month to help me with my payment each month as a referral. Then I was told that they pay the bank 3000.00 to let me have the loan for a car. Well, the first payment was due in January and the person whom I thought was selling me the car was not the one on the sale and my february payment was and still is late because I got the 100.00 a week or more after the due date.

I have to keep texting, calling and going to Nissan to remind this person of the money I was promised. I am frustrated, tired and its not fair to me to have to be stressed out like this when I told them from the beginning that the payments were too high for me. I dont know what to do or where to go or who to talk to.

I hope someone can help me with this issue. Im tired of it and I feel like just taking the car back and leave it there. It's not worth my health or sanity.
