Signed a contract in September and paid him $16,000 to start to build in November, instead of a footing and foundation he said a pier system would be better. I paid the Architect to change the building plan. Nimo built the deck (floor) and then left. The first part of February, 2020, he sent a crew to construct the shell.
Unfortunately he did not provide them with all the necessary materials to do the job; in an effort to get the job done I went to the lumberyard and purchased what they needed. He then said I needed to pay him $20,000 (checks for $10,000 to his company and one for $10,000 made to him personally. He said he need to cash the check right away and that's what the check to him personally.
His work is sub-standard. When the building inspector failed the sheathing Nino's reaction was that the inspector did not know his job. The inspector gave a courtesy inspection of the insides and found some serious problems. Back to the architect for proposals to fix the deficiencies. I hired two guys for 2 1/2 days to correct in accordance with the architect proposal. I attempted to get Nino to come and complete the room addition but he would not.
Nimo sent an electrician who wired the room but did not complete the job.The electrician never returned so I had to hire a licensed electrician to finish the job. Now Nimo does not respond at all.
Recently I went and cleaned up the mess he made, debris all over the place, nails, plastic siding, wood scraps, etc. The trash filled three heavy duty contractor bags. He also left lumber laying in my barn, so much as to make the place unuseable and he left a good amount of power tools, nails, wire and other debris. He also cut a rain gutter that could not hold water; the water washed away at least 2 yards of soil. Subsequently, I have signed contracts with various professionals to complete the room addition.
Nino is very personable and convincing but I can think of only two words to describe Nimo, a fraud and a thief. My mistake for paying him so much money up front. Anyone is welcome to contact me about what Nimo did, I have numerous photos to back up my claim.
