Ning, Inc. Reviews

Tools like siftery and truebill.com should detect these subscriptions.

It didn't.

They've constructed their invoices in a hosted manner to where they don't send email invoice notices.

You cannot cancel the subscription digitally, that's a tell-tale sign of a bad service, one where they make lots of money on breakage.

If you're an acquirer looking to buy a company, this company has fake metrics that are juiced by breakage.

Start sending email invoices to customers and you'll find immediate churn.

Bad and terrible support.

I signed up for a free trial on Ning.com and looked around and decided it wasn't something I was ready to use. So the same day, I deleted the sample page I created and cancelled my free trial. I did this all the same day and never logged on to their site after this. A month later I noticed a charge on my account from Ning for $300. They charged me for a whole year of services without my consent or permission.

When I contacted Ning.com they told me they never received a request for my cancellation. I tried to resolve this without getting my bank involved and told them to look at all their records and they would discover that I deleted my page, cancelled the trial and never logged in again. I was told they didn't receive my cancellation, and they didn't seem to care that I deleted the page and never logged in again as proof that I didn't use the free trial.

I think it's ludicrous to be charged $300 for a service I never used and simply request a refund as the only means to resolve this dispute.

This company disconnected our company site that supports over 100 of our agents, including blogs, photos, resource links etc. And no one is taking reponsibility, with support not responding and company apparently has no full time employees, just a US Nevada shell. As a result we are experienceing damage to our reputation and loss of members and business.

(1)I sold my company.

(2) The new owners tried to pay for the Ning website (aagents.com) that had all our member support news and blogs and pictures. Ning would not accept the payment when we called accounting in INDIA.

(3) So I again tried paying on-line but again the password did not work. I clicked button on line for new password. Never came. Tried twice

(4) Received notice of past due from Ning. Again called their accounting and tried to pay. They would not accept it. Was told to email support for anew password

(5) I wrote 5 emails to support. Receive stock responses and one response that they are having trouble internally with passwords.

(6) I again called accounting since that tis the only support number. Accounting blamed me for forgetting the password (set up 6 years ago) and told me again to write to support. I did again.

(7) Nothing was ever solved by ning but they DISCONNECTED the site, causing great harm

(8) I again called accounting on 11/29/16 and tried to pay. They cannot accept any payments. I asked for corporate office phone. They said it is a secret. They told me to go to website and pay. I again explained that I need a password and no one has responded so I cannot pay and they will not take the money. I was told that they have no record of me ever writing support. (funny, I have 2 stock responses and one response that they are having problems with passwords)

(9) Located and called the corporate office in Nevada. Was told by a receptionist that this is a shared office space, she does not work for the company, and they come in occassionally so there is no one person that she knows of to talk to. I left two messages so far.

This company does not care about its customer, appears to be a shell company with no full time employees. They disconnected our lifeline to our 100+ agents leaving us high and dry. Appears only option left is a lawsuit.

This hosting platform is the worst ever. I started my site when they were still free to create. Eventually they were bought and started charging service fees. I elected to get the top shelf plan with all the customer support and extras. They have done but failed in every catagory. I myself am a software developer. Unlike most ning creators who chose the platform because its marketed as an easy out of the box way to start a social network. I actually understand code. These people are straight up incompetant plain and simple. They do not deliver the promised support as contracted in their service contracts. My site is down now 30-50 % of the time which has killed my business. If you have any other direction as far as your site don't choose these people. They make removing your content so difficult shifting your site to another host is nearly impossible so they trap you. Worst tech company in the universe. I would like to start a class action suite for other creators. Seriously that is how bad it is now.
