On March 8, 2016 we paid New Start Media by credit card for a double business card ad in a publication and were informed that we would receive a copy of the publication. We never received a copy of the publication and to the best of our knowledge, the double business card ad was never published.On March 23, 2016 we paid New Start Media $449.50 again by electronic check in response to a duplicate invoice received. After several attempts to unsuccesfully contact New Start Media, on February 3, 2017 we wrote a letter requesting return of the duplicate payment. We mailed a second request on March 13, 2017. As of August 16, 2017 we have received no response. Note that at this stage, we are not as concerned about the failure to publish the initial double business card ad for the publication that we never saw as we are about the refund of the duplicate payment. This is blatant fraud.
I received a telemarketing call from this company claiming to be selling advertising space for a local football calendar. They had all of my information, and it sounded very legitimate. I spoke with "Sarah" who took my credit card information (stupid) then obtained an email address to email my receipt and advertising form to, and my physical address to mail 50 copies of the completed calendar after printing.
I noticed an out of state phone number on my caller id, and when I questioned why this was, "Sarah" commented that the call was probably routed through their "home office"-they were nationwide and handled marketing for local high school sports teams. Seemed reasonable. She gave me a toll free number to call her back at. The toll free number rings to City Wide Promotions, which appears to be a legimate marketing company in Davenport. The call goes directly to voice mail. "Sarah" called me back within minutes of leaving my message.
The local number that came over on caller ID rings to a number that cannot accept voice messages.
The charge on my bank statement appears as New Start Media. When I did not receive either my receipt or the advertising form, I googled the company name and found numberous reports of fraud-including comments and reviews of exactly the same scam I experienced all over their Facebook page. I reported the fraud to my bank to dispute the charge and stop any additional charges.
I was solicited by MIKE from New Start and then referred to CAROL to close the ad sale. They presented a advertising opportunity to run a :
4" X 4" IN AD BOBCATS BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
(that would be Buchholz Bobcats - the hight school i proudly graduated from and THOUGHT i was supporting.)
Things were a bit sketchy during the sales pitch, but i went for it. I asked to split my payment and was billed $133.17 immediately and the charge hit my account the same day. I received a paper bill via email (no domain associated with the "advertsing agency" as well as in the USPS (see scanned image)

As I sat down to design my ad, my gut told me to google the company, since there was no web site domain.
I found the other reports.
I called and emailed them demanding my money back, stating i would ad to this string.
These people Promised me 25 football calendars for one HS and 75 for another HS to be delivered to me and that they were sending 100 to each school. $800 later and halfway through the football season, I have 25 calendars that are half the size expected and nothing else except unanswered phone calls and emails. How can I report them? How can I get this money back? UGH!!!!
On Weds, 8/24/16 I recieved a call from New Star Media LLC (David) who stated St Cloud Chamber Member Madeline Long referred them to me for advertising in the 2016 St Cloud Chamber Business Directory. They stated that a 2x4 advertisment was 349.99 and that I would be the only Realtor listed in the adverting. I thought is sounded strange but because they used Madilines name, I went ahead with the advertising. I checked with Madiline and recieved this email:
Dear Members,
We were informed by several of our members that they are receiving marketing calls from someone outside of the Chamber telling them that a staff person referred them to contact you. Please disregard, we have never done this and would never do this without informing you.
If you have a contact and number for this person, please share with us.
