NETZERO was able to force bill my expired Credit Card. And even up'ed my charges.

I went to cancell my account of 15 years, because they were of course charging for "free" netzero. This was mid-2015, changed to the free account, however they continued billing me $11.00 in 2016. Mid-2016 I used their website to close the account out again and just forgot about it...

The credit card they had on file expired in March 2017,I relied on that info to prevent further charges and in Feburary 2017 i paid and closed the account out.

With copies of the accounts status today, it appears that in May 2017 NETZERO changed my service platform and billing to a MEGA account at $21.95,they doubled my fee and instead of getting payment in May of 2017, the Bank said they "FORCED THE PAYMENT" through in September, i was told they never not a confirmation number, VISA just let it go through.

My bank told me that NETZERO was able to "FORCE it" under a compliance regulation. Yes the bank has some issues and im addressing that separatly.

This "compliance issue" has to do with someting netzero says they have as a contract with me and that is how they made this payment go through. Now im still under the free use of net zero, and can't even rember accessing the site this year.

Yes this bank has issues as well.

Just want to make sure this is not a fraudlent practice with NETZERO and if there are similar issues with NETZERO

After using netzero dial-up service for many years, i cancelled on june 3, 2016 because i switched to a broadband provider. Netzero requires customers to cancel by phone. We did so and the rep gave us confirmation no. 055935009.

Now, 7 months later, i discovered that netzero did not cancel the account, and continues to automatically withdraw $13.95 per month from my account.

My mate emailed their billing dept. Twice to demand cancellation and a refund of the wrongfully withdrawn amounts -- both times providing them with the cancellation date and confirmation number: they refused to honor our cancellation, asked us to cancel by phone, and refused to honor the confirmation number they had given us, and refused to refund $97.Oo and counting they had taken from me.

The second time, after we pointed out we already had cancelled, company rep caren anderson claimed in her emailed reply that they had no record of our cancellation.

That's when we realized the scam -- by forcing customers to cancel by phone For unspecified "security reasons"), the company can, and typically does, deny knowledge because the customer can produce no written record of the cancellation other than a confirmation number that they also deny.

Hundreds of other netzero customers have exactly the same complaint as us See at consumer affairs online, internet, netzero): they cancelled with netzero but the company continued to bill them untill they were forced to cancel their debit or credit card to stop it. They received no refund. The complaints date back years.

Netzero is acting unethically and illegally: i want to prosecute this fraudulent business practice: if anyone's got a class action going about this, please contact me to participate!

In the meantime, i have filed a complaint against netzero wiith the ftc, bbb, visa, and consumer reports as well as Outscam.

Okay so me and my wife signed up for NetZero mobile hotspot. The service was terrible so we cancelled after one month of use. I pull up my bank statement and I find they have continued to charge my account this passed month. I call them and they say they can't help me. I just want my money that they are stealing from me back in my account and clean my hands of them. Like I said I cancelled and the following month they are still taking my money. Something must be done about this!!! HELP!

I JUST RECEIVED MY NETZERO 4G PERSONAL HOTSPOT. I PLUGGED IT IN TO GET FULLY CHARGE BEFORE I TRIED TO TEST IT TO SEE IF IT WORKS.

I LEFT IT PLUGGED IN OVERNIGHT! THE FOLLOWING DAY (KEEP IN MIND I HAVE NOT ACTUALLY USE IT YET), I RECEIVED THIS MESSAGE! (Also keep in mind, I changed the ID and Password on the unit, to make sure no one can share my hotspot 4G without my authorization)

Dear Maxwell,

You've reached the data limit for this billing cycle. In order to continue using your NetZero 4GMobile Broadband, please upgrade your Service Plan. After you upgrade, you will be able to connect to the Internet again within 15 minutes.

To upgrade your plan, please sign in to your account page at http://account.netzero.com and click on "Upgrade Your Service Plan" in the Mobile Broadband section.

I CALLED TO COMPLAIN, THINKING THIS WAS AN ERROR.

BOY, WAS I SHOCKED WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT " Mr Wright.... While it's being charged, it will can use up all the data "WITHOUT YOU ACTUALLY USING IT" ...WITHOUT BEING CONNECTED, I DID NOT UPLOAD OR DOWN LOAD A THING! BUT IT USED UP ALL MY BRAND WIDTH JUST FOR ME TO CHARGE THE UNIT??? WTF??

IF YOU REALLY WANT A HOTSPOT. GO WITH (((competitor's name redacted)))... If the signal is strong in your area... Please go with ... I had to return my hotspot from because of signal strength!! BUT, their customer service was AWESOME! NETZERO HAS THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My model# WIXFMM-122 Parts# 990750-0237R Just incase someone think I'm for one company vs another. I'm a real estate broker.... I have no association with NETZERO or
