I have seen several complaints where Netflix is doing the same thing below as mentioned in another complaint. It is happening to me as well. The customer service rep told me a supervisor wouldn't help me and that I was 'misunderstanding the situation.' They claimed to not be able to find my transactions or account yet are charging me and show a connected T-mobile account.
He wanted me to go back to my bank and said there was nothing they could or would do to help me. Which is very odd given the fact that they're the ones that are charging my credit card. I believe this to be wholly fraudulent activity and a means for Netflix to drive additional revenue by charging customers when they're not supposed to. Then telling you to go back to your bank, which to the other users point below doesn't allow you to back track enough to receive stolen funds. I believe this is a scheme by Netflix to drive additional revenue, not provide a means of recourse and flat out lie to customers about their accounts/billing transactions.

Dvd.netflix failed to send a movie for 8 days and would not give me credit or a refund. My top selection has not been fulfilled for over a month. They want me to put more movies in my cue, perhaps older or unwanted titles? It is obvious that they do not have enough movies to satisfy their customers. I dropped my membership. They got my money, I got nothing!
This is the second time this has happened that I cant speak for. First my friend had fraud charges in her account from Netflix in california last year. She had an account with netflix though so they already had her info and scammed her out of money she didnt owe. Her account was also compromised and hacked into but this happened after she changed her password as directed. She did get her money back from her bank.
Netflix would not help or refund her money so they had to do investigation. Now it happened to me and I dont even have an account with Netflix. Same location in California. They charged my bank account over 17 bucks out of the blue. I never have given them my info, my email or never had an account with Netflix. I had to cancel my card of course.
DO NOT TRUST Netflix or anything associated with Netflix somehow they got my information and stole my money. Thankfully I will get it back. Niether of us had any other charges from anywhere else it was only Netflix. How many others are they stealing from?
My company credit card had been charged for fees for the past few months without my authorization or my company's authorization. Our owner tried to find out who this person was by contacting Netflix. Netflix refused to release any information to her. Netflix told her that if she gave him information about the account, he would say yes or no. Of the employee's she named, Mine was the name on the account.
I was called and told what happened. Said I didn't have an account with Netflix, but will call and find out what was going on. I talked to a representative named "Low" and she said no account was tied to the email address that I had given her.
I ask her to hold on, because I wanted to call the owner for a conference call with her. The representative Low told our owner the same thing. We ask her other questions about the account since my name was tied to it. Low refused to release any additional information. Our owner ask to speak to a supervisor and Low got a supervisor named "Tate".
He also played the name game and my name was on the account, however, my email address did not match what was on file. We ask for the email address on file and Tate refused. He said that Netflix will take any valid credit card without verification and would further charge our credit card knowing that it was being used fraudulently.
On 1/14/2019 I checked my bank statement and found a "recurring charge to Netflix" of $15.14 from 12/31/2018. I don't have Netflix account, never have had one. I found Netflix online and reported THEIR error in a comments box. I was directed to another page that wanted $5.00 and my credit card info. I sensed a scam and logged off.
On 1/15/2019 I called Prosperity Bank to report. They said they couldn't do much since it was charged to my debit card, but they cancelled my old card, will issue new one. They agreed it sounded like a scam.
I went online to report this scam, found "Netflix Scam FTC" and logged on. Previously a scam (ongoing for about a year or more) targeted Netflix users with "something's wrong with your account, send your credit card info".
But this new phishing scam that targets people using debit cards for bank recurring payments (like for health insurance, cable TV, internet, etc.) sounds new, and is very scary.
I attempted to report this to the FTC but could not, due to government shutdown. So it's up to us to get the word out there!
I get my bank statement and on there is a charge for 13.99 that reads DDA recur netflix.com netflix.com cau, and 13.99, Once i notice the charge, i immediatley contacted netflix. They ask me to provide my debit card number over a secure account so they can look up the account thats associated with the debit card number, I tell her i dont have an account, never had an account, she sends the form over a secured encrypted connection and i reluctantly provide the card number, she comes back and says there is no account associated with that card number, no, really isnt that what i just said, she tells me i have to take it up with my financial institution, i then ask why, it had to come from your company, my bank is not in the habit of paying money that is not owed, today is the 23rd, the charge was on the 22nd, so im confused if theres no account associated with my card money how did they get paid 13.99 its clearly stated on my account it was paid, she asks me is this the only card you have, yep sure is, so she sends the form again over the encryped secure connection and asks me to enter the card number again, to which i got same result no account matching that number,, well somebody named netflix took 13.99 out of my account yesterday and from what i see its a recurring charge, she says again i have to dispute it with my financial company, again why its clear who charged my account, my bank dosent just give money randomly to someone unless there is a debt for that amount submitted to it. Final result nothing. but she wishes there was more she could do for me, there is, refund my money.
Satilite TV ,then I brought Roko to watch more tv shows An movies but it was not what we thought An we where not happy with it not what it said it was , so we went back to Dish TV. Canceled Netflix An Hulu . The next month on my bank statement Netflix took money out so I called An they said I didn’t cancel on time an they could not refund my money, ok but the next month same thing they where sorry An where going to put cancel an refund my money but it has never happened yet , I have called an got told someone for scamming me from Mexico an if I paid 200 now they could stop it , I said no way they said do you have family or friends that live in Mexico ? I said no well then someone is charging to your account pay 200 now An we can cancel an end it for you, I said no way hung up an have been going on line trying to find a Netflix that is going to help stop them from taking money out every month $11.56 so I hope I found someone who can help me out with this thank you PatV
I have filed this on other web sites to help prevent this practice happening I am one person with one name I have two different emails with my name one with msn and another with charter. I have many credit cards. This company does billing off of email addresses and any credit cards you may have that are good. They somehow managed to get both my email addresses with my name in it and three of my card numbers and proceeded to bill me on a barclay bank, a chase card and a capital one card. I am the owner of one home with three tvs I only need one netflix account BUT they charged me since 2014 for 2 accounts and when calling their service center DID nothing other than give me a free month of service and cancel one of the accounts. They would not refund the $400 they owe me for the 2nd account. The person tried to convince me that some people have 2 accounts for one address---which makes no sense at all to me. I have not written corporate yet but plan too.
My chase card has stepped in and credited me for the NETFLIX rip off and hopefully will resolve it with them and make them pay it back. Their billing is actually stubit---rather than using a persons name and one address apparently they use your email addresses and credit cards and they figure you authorized multiple accounts. When they actually should verify this with the person owning the credit cards. This slipped under my radar because one banks statements were just on the web--so I never reviewed them---Now I always ask for paper statements from every bank.... Capital one has charges from 2011 to netflix for 17.23 for 2 months which I never authorized but again I never saw statements until recently on the web. Now I am bringing this to their attention. I hope this helps other consumers out there to be wary of this companys business and billing practices.
I checked my bank statement and netflix.com.los gatos ca has taken 15.39 from my account.i contacted netflix through my netflix app and as far as they are concerned i closed my account with them 8 months ago in april.....how does this happen ?and what do i do ?
Netflix.de ripped me off blond! And it has hapened more than once. Dont give Netflix access to your bank account!
I was subscribed to monthly plan, paid on the 5th, direct deposit. Low and behold on the 22nd of the same month was another charge, for same monthly fee that I already paid on 5th. Customer service refused to do anything! They stole from me then acted like I commited a crime, lol. I do not know what to say.
Dont allow Netflix to have access to your account! They do it on purpose, Legal theft it appears to be.
Netflix: As the world moves on in technological advancements its important to continue to help people and charge justly and give an accurate description to product and the availability of that product, Netflix DVD Services has failed to do this and in turn allowing disc processing and mailing services to come to a complete halt for several days when their slogan is next day shipping, giving an estimate of around $ 4.00 per movie instead of the 2013 average of $1.25 a movie they have truely come out of the good neighbor standards and moved on to a wild boarish corporate bullie mandate all the wile seeming quite copesthetic about overcharging people at an economic disadvantage, availability is Outsourcing common decency and fair trade
NETFLIX, you need to get off your high horse. GREED is a motivator, but also shows the true colors within one!
NETFLIX you have violated your own "TERMS OF USE", based "SOLELY" and "BY YOUR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION" on changing your pricing when you want too; like you did recently. It ALLOWED you to get rid of those accounts that were "GRANDFATHERED" in with the fixed monthly rate. You think all of AMERICA, at least, are morons, but i am not and will not stand for it! This is one of many things you do, in the name of your "TERMS OF USE". Such as under "SERVICE, section D" last sentence of the paragraph;
"WE RESERVE THE RIGHT IN OUR SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION TO MAKE CHAGES FROM TIME TO TIME AND WITHOUT NOTICE IN HOW WE OFFER AND OPERATE OUR SERVICE."
That itself defeats the "OVERVIEW" where you are a subscription service that provides your members with access to motion pictures, television, etc. In turn that means the service provided by NETFLIX "for discovering and watching content includes all features and functionalities, websites, and user interfaces, as well as all content and software associated with our service."
Then why am paying a higher fixed rate for NETFLIX, when they state themselves that not all apps are created equal. Some will get more features, whereas some will get less. Now they will use words like resolution or bandwith, but that associates tot he device and to the ISP. Whereas NETFLIX is suppose to supply that content under a specific download speed in order to get higher resolutions. Yes, that has been expressed, many of times. Now here is my problem:
NETLFIX hijacks APPS forcing content to automatically play. Even though i expressed my concerns, and complaints about this feature in the past. Whereas they told me all i have to is opt out of the "test phases", which i did, but everything still happens. Here is the violation with their own services. Even though NETFLIX expressed numerous times that they own the company and can do whatever and whenever they want. With that said; On the "TERMS OF USE" #17 Survival: "IF ANY PROVISION OR PROVISIONS OF THESE TERMS OF USE SHALL BE HELD INVALID, ILLEGAL, OR UNENFORCABLE, THE VALIDITY, LEGALITY AND ENFORCEABILITY OF THE REMAINING PROVISIONS SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT."
Me, being a paying customer, and in this case in NETFLIX eyes, a "MEMBER". Who by your own terms of use, does not allow me all the features and functionalities. Per NETFLIX on words, "Remaing provisions shall remain in full force and effect, when the validity of these terms, in this case, is invalid because i do not have access to all the features and functionalities. "NOTHING" is funtionality, "SILENCE" is a feature; "AUTO PLAY OF CONTENT" i have no access to not have it? Makes no sense on how you have the right to steal my bandwidth all in the name of your "TERMS OF USE".
Going back to all APPS not created equal, then why do those apps that do no have those features and functionalities allow it and not other apps? Obviously some devices cannot compensates for such, but i could have sworn we live in the technology age, not the stone age. Reread the underlined sentence in the beginning in regards of what NETFLIX really is.
I have a LG BLURAY PLAYER that i cannot operate the NETFLIX APP 100%. It laggs all the time. When i click on the profile to log in, i have to wait 15 seconds or so. Then the spotlight comes up for whatever attraction, but no audio/video. I actually have control in that sense, but i never truly have control of the app itself. Whereas i click down once, it goes down twice, click up once, it goes up three times. Click on any content, it bypasses the menu for that content and starts playing. Some of the times, when i hit exit, it will not take effect for over 3minutes or so. When that happens the loading isignia showing 99% stays up, while the content is playing just fine.
I noticed on my bank statement that Netflix has been charging double for services. I started a chat with one of their representatives, and while chatting, I scrolled down my bank statement and noticed that they hadn't done this once or twice, but for 13 months. For 13 months Netflix has charged us two times each month. The withdrawals are usually around four days apart. I gave their representative my bank and card numbers and was told that they had no record of having double dipped for services and that I would have to give them my husbands information if I wanted a reimbursement. I gave them the last 4 digits of his card, but didn't feel that I needed to give them more than that. They should have a record of payments and where they come from. But they don't. Meanwhile, I'm looking at my bank statements and seeing two payments per month going to Netflix. I cancelled my service and will not be reimbursed. I'm speaking to a lawyer after the weekend.
On 06/16/16 I signed up for a free 30 day trial with Netflix, but decided to cancel after not finding it better than Hulu, which I already had. When I called on 07/17/16 I was advised that the refund of 25.96 would be processed within 3-5 business days, which is standard for refunds.
However when I didn't have it in my bank account during that timeframe, I called and was advised there's was a system issue that resulted in refunds during that period not to be processed correctly, but it would be resolved as soon as possible. After numerous calls (more than 5 calls that I can remember), as of 08/18/16, I'm still waiting for my refund.
I had to borrow 25.00 to pay on my light bill because at the time that money was taken from my account, my bill was due, so I was hugely inconvenienced because my family was almost without electricity because of this issue. When I called on 08/18/16, l spoke to a young lady who seemed unsure of the info and said the notes on my account stiffs to refer the call to a supervisor (who l never spoke to) and was hurriedly transferred to another department, only to get the recording the department was closed.
This whole experience has been very stressful for me and all I want is my refund and 25.00 that I had to borrow to keep my lights on. If my refund had been processed correctly, I wouldn't of had to borrow the money in the first place. I find it really odd that the system that processed the payments has had no issues during the same time period.
I signed up for 1 free month of Netflix. I was told that I wouldn't be charged until May 16, 2016. I also chose the standard account for $9.99, however I am currently being charged $8.79 by Netflix Los Gatos cau. This charge is less than $9.99 and I'm getting charged the wrong fee at the wrong time..please help me fix this. I want to pay for the service I chose. I was told that I would not get charged any fees until May 16, 2016 if I fail to cancel before this date.
Thought I would share what has recently happened to me with Netflix. I fell for that “one month trial” ad offer back in December 2015 and decided to give Netflix a try. So, it required that I input my Credit Card info into the submission form but had a disclaimer that if I cancelled 2 days before the end of the trial date, the account would be deactivated and the credit card would obviously not be charged. So, I did the trial from Dec 25 to Jan 19th. On Jan 19th 2016, I called and cancelled the trial and was again assured that my credit card would not be charged and the account would be closed. I then forgot about Netflix…well, yesterday, to my surprise, as I was doing my online banking, I noticed a Netflix charge of $10.42 for Jan 24 and Feb 24. I was baffled. I called Netflix and was told that the account had been re-activated by someone in Chili. WTF! What???? I’m in Ontario. How the heck could someone have re-activated a supposedly closed account from Chili??! She wouldn’t do anything for me…even if I had the cancellation email that Netflix, their own company, had sent me on Jan 19th confirming the closure and cancellation of the account. Unbelievable. She even went as far as to say to call my Visa card and report these 2 charges as fraudulent charges and that Visa would refund me. Needless to say I was quite enraged by this entire experience. I called my Visa card company and they advised me that these would not be considered fraudulent charges because I had willingly given Netflix my Credit Card info. I had to be very “not nice” to the Visa lady and threaten her with the closure of this Visa account along with all my RBC accounts in order to get my refund…which I am now waiting for. And, to top that off, I had to cancel my Visa in order to prevent Netflix from dinging my card again on March 24th. Unreal! I filed a complaint with the BBB and I am awaiting results. I am enraged and this is why I am sharing my experience so that others do not fall into this Netflix trap. DON”T DO BUSINESS WITH NETFLIX!!!!!!
Been a customer of Netflix.com for years. They are committing fraud. They claim to have thousands and thousands of movies. I have numerous movies in my Queue. Today I was sent disc Two of a concert. Disc one was available when I added it, but then Netflix moved it to my saved Queue. They sent disc two and 1 in not available. How does that make sense? There are about 40 movies in my saved Queue. This is fraud and horrible service. It is dishonest and FRAUD to claim that you have all these movies when a huge majority are not available. I pay my fees every month. I have contacted Reed Hastings the CEO numerous times. He never responds. He is fine with lying and committing fraud. Metflix needs to remove movies from it's catalong and Library if they are not available. If I had a business that ran this way and committed fraud, I would be prosecuted. Reed Hastings and Netflix are liars and continue to committ fraud and rip people off.
Having movies that Netflix knows are not available and probably will never be available , but letting customers add them to their QUEUE is FRAUD, dishonest, and wrong. Netflix needs to change this. Reed Hastings , CEO needs to fix this.
I called Netflix for a technical issue. Will not stream - The customer service had me (wait to you hear this) switch the cord around HDMI. And then blamed Apple TV however every other app is working fine it is just Netflix. I have been on hold for over 20 minutes, then another 15 minutes (I have unlimited so they can continue to do nothing as I will save the time on my phone. When that didn't work they blamed Apple TV then the cable company and when that didn't work they blamed the TV and then went on to blame me.

NETFLIX you have violated your own "TERMS OF USE", based "SOLELY" and "BY YOUR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION" on changing your pricing when you want too; like you did recently. It ALLOWED you to get rid of those accounts that were "GRANDFATHERED" in with the fixed monthly rate. You think all of AMERICA, at least, are morons, but i am not and will not stand for it! This is one of many things you do, in the name of your "TERMS OF USE". Such as under "SERVICE, section D" last sentence of the paragraph;
By far the worst CSR/Tecnical Assistance...
