The plumber was called by a contractor due to no hot water. The contractor advised the plumber that I needed a thermo cup. The plumber purchased the part but when he came he lit the pilot and the water got hot. The plumber said well if the thermo cup was bad the pilot would not have lit and he would just leave the part with me in case I ever need it. The plumber said he was charging me for the visit and the part. Less then two weeks later no hot water and the pilot would not lite. I called the plumber again and he lite the pilot and said it was working. I told him I wanted him to put the part in that I paid for on the last visit, he didn't think I needed it but I insisted. He hesitated but put the part on an then said wow the old part was burnt out. So now he wanted to charge me almost 3 times as much a*s the first visit because he had to put the part on. I disagreed and he gave me a $30 discount. I called him again in less then 30 minutes and he had already cashed the check. I feel like if he had did the job right the first time there would have been no need to call him again. If I had not insisted on him putting the part on I would be calling my warranty company and having to pay again.
