Same company different industry. I do not know what else to say about Natures produce but I will say it once more. This has been the most demanding and at times and most annoying job I have had to date. My first day was a joke at best. I asked for help on this and that and yet I did not receive any training or assistance that I had requested. I was not hired at a competitive rate; which is a common practice amongst most large produce companies. I was told that I would get a raise and that never happened. I ask for days off and I get grief and they stress me as if I am the only person/employee they have to work. Vacation days are harder and harder to come by and if I am late at all – they send me home so they do not have to pay me for that day. I hope that all the other companies do not act in such a way.
I was really looking forward to working with some friends of mine but when I arrived I quickly realized that this was not the job I thought it would be. I was thinking that I would get a raise or that they would do what they said they would. I never had a review and it was a bit cheap how long they tried to drag it out without giving me an increase in my salary. A job is a job, don’t get me wrong but it would be nice if just one of these companies nowadays would honor the promises that they make at the interview.
Many unhappy people and lots of internal problems may have been the cause. I do not know. I just know it was very troublesome and disheartening. I do not want to be rude but sometimes you deal with a company that paints a picture of profit and quality but you get there and it’s an entirely different story. From rumors about our boss and the owner or owners, I am not really sure but I had to make a decision to leave or become a piece of the problem. It seems as if that was the only way to make it there. You either acted as such or you were targeted by just about everyone. I was not going to take the “When in Rome” way out though – I would rather not be apart of such a company.
I left Natures Produce and started a career in a different industry. Coming from the business realm and seeing that the same things happen within the produce industry is surprising to say the least.
Hopefully Rich and his kids Blake and Ryan learn to run this company better. It’s a little rough and rude in my opinion.
Apparently all of this was just the daily routine and we were just in the line of fire as this is a normal practice for their business, rick and the culture at natures produce.
We truly hope that that this finds the right people as we would never want what happened to us happening to other business. There are many other high profile hotels and restaurants in the los angeles area that use their services. I’m guessing a lot of the business owners don’t know about this or maybe don’t care.
