Nationwide catastrophe services took over 6 months to give me a sub-par roof / caused water damage, and still have not taken care of all the insurance paper work. it has now been 10 months since signing a contract w them.

i began looking online searching for a roofer, got a quick response from a sales rep named andre barnes (he didnt last long, they have high turnover rate, i had several reps after who did nothing for me). he came to my home on 1/10/2015 he looked at my roof, said no problem insurance would cover it he gave me a contract said they would do the work for the agreed upon amount of the claim with the insurance company. that by signing this i would give them permission to talk to the insurance company and take care of it for me so i would not have to do anything. (trust me just make your own call to your insurance/much easier) what they didnt tell me is that i was giving the aob or assignment of benefits. meaning they now had full control of this claim and all payments and there was nothing i could do about it. lesson learned by me, dont sign anything you dont fully understand. also contract gives them power of attorney to sign for me. it states irrivocable power of attornery (from what i have read "no such thing" but im no attorney. i told them i wanted to revoke power of attorney they refused. it took them 3 months to get the insurance company the paperwork they needed to approve the claim. insurance company was ready and waiting on there quote

(they said thats not how they normally do it) ok.. well thats policy so get over it and send it in. finally a permit pulled and the several weeks later they come out and rip off the shingles to find rotting at the tail ends of the trusses.they stop working on the roof throw some tarps up and leave the gutters and soffit hanging swinging back and forth and falling off. many many times the tarp came off and always took them a day or two to put back on after calling them over and over again. they first placed the tarps on the roof and held them down by placing all the shingles in there packaging along the edges, as well as other roofing materials, such as a box of nails. they

constantly fell off the roof when the wind picked up, the box of nails fell too. i was so worried something would fall on our heads when we went outside, (the packs of shingles, the gutters, boxes of nails) they even put a few pavers (that were in my backyard) along the edges of my roof that also fell off. meanwhile, i was told the insurance company would have to send the adjuster back out, the adjuster came out several days later, evaluated, and then the insurance company requested a quote again for the additional damage. they tried to send their "sister" company out to access the damage of the trusses. they tried to "trick" me into signing another one of their contracts. i researched the sister company "restoration response services", they are not registered with the state (im sure this is illegal), they are using the same contractor lc# as ncs "tim cox".i refused to sign, this time the contract said i would pay what insurance would not cover...i dont think so. i had to argue with them that our current contract covered this as they claimed to be a restoration company for disaster and to repair all damages. the contract said they would do all work for the amount insurance agrees to, but they were trying to get out of the contract by getting me to sign another contract. they tried telling me all the trusses on my home needed to be replaced and that it could cost over $100,000? the insurance company told me they would not get that as i had a $10,000 max on my rot coverage. they needed to hire an engineer to come out and draw up repair on the tails of the trusses. i was quotes the replacement to be around $1500 from another company. these people are scam artists who try to take advantage of people and their insurance companies. it took the 3 months to move forward, i had called them over and over daily looking for answers. after making threats, they finally proceeded with the repair permit on 5/28/15. a week or so later they sent out a crew from the sister company to start the repairs, the same evening they started the repairs, rain came down and into my home, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, the garage, my porch, and tv were water damaged. i had to keep calling to get someone to return my call, they tried to avoid coming out that evening to help, but i kept calling and sending pictures, buckets were not going to get it done. the reason the water came in, the crew that came out and started working took the water barrier felt paper off and didnt put it back on. they immediately blamed the roofing co. ncs for the tarps being old, i just wanted it taken care of, and the roofing company said they would take care of it.nsc paid their "sister" company to do the repairs, they were very unprofessional, no shows, short cuts, sub-par work to say the least. it took until mid august for them to complete. i was called after completion by one of the guys who worked for the sister company he told me he knew they did bad work, that he no longer worked there and told me that he had to tell me everything was ok before because his job depended on it.he told me the roof was also done incorrectly and poorly, told me what they were trying to do by getting me to sign another contract and also they had not paid all there workers and i needed to watch our for liens. he also informed me that ncs was attempting to file suit against my insurance co for around $80k saying it was their fault for not taking care of the claim fast enough, total lie if you ask me. nationwide catastrophe services still has not provided the engineers report or certificate of completion to insurance company, this is why they have not been able to issue payment. when i called ncs, i spoke w/ linda the office manager she refused to send me the quote saying it had nothing to do w me and it was only between them and my insurance co. my insurance co told me today 10/22/15 they are still waiting on the cert of completion and engineer reports to issue payment. they are asking for $40k (what a joke) my roof looks very bad... shingles sticking up, spongy spots on the roof. (they are unwilling to fix) i will be posting this complaint everywhere to warn everyone and getting a professional help to recover damages to repair their terrible workmanship. Also, Tim Cox refuses to speak to my insurance company, will not take anyones calls for that matter. In 10 months I still have not been able to speak to him.
