If I could give this place less I would...I went there with a hole in the side of my tire on a Friday, they ordered the tire i needed so that it would match the rest. They told me to call on Monday to make sure the tire was delivered and everything was ready to go. I called Monday morning and spoke with the manager, Joe, he told me everything was ready and they would have the tire on the car and me back on the road as soon as i got there. I left work and drove there, there was one person working in the lobby, while the rest were socializing in the shop, they saw me standing there waiting to be helped but never came out, simply turned around and looked through the glass wall and then turned around and went back to talking.
Occasionally a woman would come out and answer the phone and then head back into the shop to chat with the mechanics, she made it known she was not a mechanic while talking to the one person that was trying to help the customers in the waiting room. When the man finally finished with his customer he asked what i needed. I told him i ordered a tire on Friday and i am here to have it installed, he said let me check it out, i said i called earlier and spoke with Joe who said everything was good to go, he said okay and took the keys. At this point i had been there for almost 30 minutes, i waited another 20 minutes before they took my car back, after waiting about another 40 the man who had helped me came out and said it should be done any moment, and then 15 minutes later he came out and told me my tire had not arrived at the store yet and i would need to wait longer.
At this point i was furious as i had been waiting for nearly two hours. How did it take almost two hours to figure out my tire wasn't at the store and why was i told it was in the first place. I asked to speak with Joe, who i spoke with on the phone, which is when i learned he was the manager. He comes out smiling and says "whats up man, whats wrong?" i say how did it take two hours to figure out my tire wasn't here, and what have you been doing to my car this whole time, he says i made a mistake and was hoping it would show up while you were waiting but i finally called and they said the delivery guy called in sick and someone else would run his route later once they finished their own. I blow my mind at this point, i took off work to have this done and you're wasting my time to tell me that i need to come back later again. This is ridiculous! he smiles again and says sorry but i saw your old tire on the rim in the shop and thought it was the new one when you called, i didn't realize it was the bad one.
At this point I get my keys back and he simply walks away, i have never had a store let me leave in a situation like this without offering something to make the situation better, the very least a discount on the purchase, but none the less I head back to work, a few hours later i get the call that my tire is there and its ready for me when i get there. I leave work again and head to the Annapolis location. After arriving it again takes 20 minutes to be greeted by anyone as they were all again in a circle talking in the shop instead of taking care of their customers. it took another 15 minutes to take the car back into the shop and another 20 to put the tire on the car. The tech tells me what i owe and i say i need to speak with Joe because i'm not paying full price for this after being run around all day. He goes to get the manager, Joe, who comes in laughing and goes "what do you want man?" I tell him i'm not paying full price, this is bullshit and you've wasted over 3 hours of my time today due to your own stupidity by not running your shop like a real manager, instead you act like a punk and treat your customers like s***.
He asks what I want him to do and i said to start i'm not paying any of the fees for installation, he says done, smiles, and walks away laughing, the tech comes out and says you just saved $11. At this point i'm again furious because I've never seen a manager let a customer leave so dissatisfied when they did so many wrongs. I will never go back to this place because they fail on even the most basic levels to take care of their customers. customer service is a joke, I called as soon as i got back and the customer service agent couldn't careless about the whole ordeal.
In August 2016, my wife's car stopped running while she was driving on the highway. Almost getting hit, she was lucky enough to have someone stop and help push her to the side. We have had good experiences with NTB in the past and they were the closest place for her to get towed to. The tow truck driver was convinced it was her battery and or the fuel pump. Simple enough fixes, so we had it towed to NTB. A week went by and we get the car back, $1200 poorer too. A week goes by of her driving it and she has the same exact problem. So I call and they agree to replace the pump again saying it was probably just a bad pump. It happens, things can arrive DOA. So they have the car again and fix it. This time when we go to pick it up, our car has 8k more miles on it, food spilled on the seats, the car smelled like oil and gas and it was running weird when I drove it home. 3 days later, same exact problem. I call the store where I took it and the manager was rude and a total jerk.
I called him out on everything and he denied it all. Of course he did, right? I then asked if they even replaced the battery and fuel pump. He insisted they did but I find it hard to believe that we got 2 bad fuel pumps in a row. I called the CEO and left him a voice mail to call me back. He had someone from his staff call. Which they setup for our local Mazda dealer to fix the car on NTB's expense. OK fine no problem. Well now it is about a month later and we are still having issues with our car. Ever since NTB touched it, it has not worked right. I called NTB's CEO the day after Thanksgiving and have followed up with 3 more calls. All of which they have not returned or attempted to reach out to me. The most recent problem with our car happened while my wife was driving down a busy road and the car just stopped because of the faulty fuel pump and sensor. She almost got hit by a truck with both of our kids in the car. I called the CEO a 5th time yesterday and he has yet to contact me. I will be getting a lawyer involved and will be suing to the max allowable in the state of PA. Stay away from NTB at all cost.
On August 31, went in to have a screw removed and told them my weight on one tire was lose and needed to be secured. Asked for tire rotation and to make sure my car was good to go on a 23hr trip because I kept hearing a noise from the front left tire area. Well about 4 hours into our trip and we hear a really loud noise. Guess what... they didn't even fix the weight. I barely touched it and it fell off. I also bought 2 tires back in December. You would think either then or when I brought it in in August they'd notice I needed a front in alignment but noooo they acted like everything was great. You would think they would have seen it when they rotated the tires on August 31. Thanks for not noticing the alignment (which is what the noise was from) and had me riding on the tires only to make them bald. So now I'm having to get a front in alignment done AND having to buy another new tire bc it is now bald on the inside.
This particular location busted my brake line leaving my truck inoperable and having to be towed off the property. They refused to fix it and had the audacity to blame it on me because "the brake lines were old", as they said. The store manager Jason and the sales rep Scott are the rudest, nastiest people i've ever encountered in the retail & service industry. The manager called me an idiot, then blatantly and boldly lied to my face while yelling at me, along with the sales rep Scott yelling at me as well. He was brazen enough to tell me that i'm trying to rip them off by getting something for nothing, and stated that I had no clue what I was talking about.
Here's the situation. I took my truck in to get four new tires, an alignment, and an oil change and spent almost $600. I dropped my truck off at 5:30pm and came back to pick it up after they closed. [continued below]....
Bad Business, dishonest and incompetent. Took my SUV for noise repair, they told me it was the manifold gasket. After they told me the car was ready, go to the office and pay. I start the car and the car had the very same problem. They asked me for more money $299 to repair the noise. I told them I already paid to you $296. They told me to repair the noise I will have to pay or take the car away.
I have been a customer of National Tire and Battery in Pittsburgh for over ten years. As of the past few months i always paid my bill on time and the minimum amount or a little over. I had about five hundred dollars of credit as of last week. I just received a letter yesterday informing me that my credit had been cut to one hundred dollars. The reason is i was late paying the last few months. First of all, i am a 70 year old Senior Adult and Vietnam Veteran. On a fixed income and with heating bills to pay, the last few months were tough but am back in control of finances. What ever happened to customer loyality? Also if the banks had not made massive mistakes in 2008, many of us older folks would still have a large 401 to fall back on, but thanks to their greed and screwups i lost over $60,000.00 Were the banks punished for this, Hell NO, nothing happened. But let Joe or Jill Six pack screw up and hey we have to punish you with taking your credit away. I have news for these clowns, Seniors do not apprecite this and we are some of the most consistant payers of our debts. That is my two cents. Thanks
Tire went flat they put air in it took back next day they called told me needed new tire took car to a real tire shop and they told me nail was in tire and repair tire no problem this place is rip off they dont know what they are doing or they are just running rip off bussines

Today is August 2, 2015. I simply went into Auto Zone to have my battery diagnosed because my 2005 Cadillac STS would not start without a jump. I had purchased a battery from Auto Zone, not even 2 years ago I'm sure. I go in and say I need a battery replacement it should be under warranty. Joe (sales associate) responds, "How do you know it's the battey? It could be something else." He proceeds to run a diagnostics check and tells me my altenator is reading out high levels. Then proceeds to check my battery. He shows me the results and it read GOOD...NEEDS A CHARGE. I tell him to go ahead and charge my battery. He says, we'll if your altenator is broke its not going to be effective and says I should have it replaced. He goes to the back of the store and makes a call to what he referred to as their affiliate NTB, National Tire and Battery. Long story short, I drop it off for a new altenator. I receive the call informing me my car is ready for pick up BUT I need to get a new battery, which was still under warranty by Auto Zone. Naturally I ask well if my battery was the problem all along, did I just spend $400 for nothing? I express to them I feel I've been SWINDLED. They hang the phone up in my face. I calm down, then go pick my car up. Upon pulling out of the parking spot I notice I can barely turn the steering wheel AND notice a warning that I've never seen the 5 years or so I owned the car regarding a steering system warning. I immediately turn right around, never even made it 2 yards from the place. Go back in even more upset and tell them I can barely turn the steering wheel. They go to the back to get the guy that drove my car around to be serviced. He...his name may have been Michael, I can't be sure...turns to me, looks me DEAD in my face and says, "It was like that when you brought it in." Now I don't need to tell you that I lost it. I asked him if he were going to stand there and lie to my face and to everyone there to witness it. I told him I was not about to be RAILROADED. He keeps repeating, it was already that way, then slips up and says, "The check engine light was on." Yes, the check engine light was on and that's the only truth that has come from his mouth, I expressed but that does not explain why my steering is now broken. He proceeds to walk off saying he's done with the conversation and turns back around saying do you want to leave it and have the mechanic check it out again in the morning? I tell him I don't want it checked out I want it FIXED! I left there in tears. That is my sole form of transportation and I'm not rich. I don't have money to throw away on someone's selfish motivation...or possibly vindictive even. I don't know what will happening tomorrow, but I know I'm just getting started. The cruel disregard for the consumer was the most damaging part. The lack of compation and empathy was simply inhumane. If I don't receive some resolve I plan on taking this to every possible Avenue for justice. And the killer part is that I'm no longer secure they won't deliberately tear up something else.
