National Support Solutions, LLC Reviews
I called the number on the pop-up I received, which claimed I had a Windows Virus on my MacBook Pro. I am very tech savvy so instantly knew this was a scam. I called the number on the pop up, 1-888-981-9709, and got a rep named Taya. She tried to gain access to my computer through Logmein.com, which I pretented to do, but I knew that if I gave her access to my computer it could be devastating. She claimed they were Apple and Microsoft Certified Partners. I asked why I received a Windows Virus on my Mac, and she claimed there are several Windows applications on Mac, which is BS. So I finally asked her, "How much do you make an hour to scam people?" She laughed and hung up on me. I have video of the event here at https://www.facebook.com/iPhoneiRepair/videos/vb.253532984697166/1115727435144379/?type=2&theater¬if_t=like¬if_id=1459881698490766
My friend got a pop up on her computer that she could not get rid of. There was a phone number for National Support Solutions in the pop up for her to call to resolve the issue. When she called, the person she spoke to inferred that Microsoft had contacted them about malware on her computer. She was frightened and gave them her credit card number to pay $300 to 'fix' her problem. They requested remote access and she gave them user name, password and allowed them access. They removed her virus software, installed LogMeIn remote access software and put their own software on her computer.
Then the pop up was gone. She realized immediately after the incident, that she had been scammed. After all, why would a pop up caused by malware have a phone number embedded in it that will make it go away? Only one reason, the only problem she had was placed there by National Support Solutions! She called me to look at her computer and I removed the software they had installed and reinstalled her virus software, changed her user ID and password on the computer.
She then called her credit card company to dispute the charges. A week later, she received a gruff sounding email from Nat Supp Solutions telling her to cancel the dispute and they would give her money back. They were threatening to use voice records, video records of the software installation and all manner of other things to fight the disputed charges. Her credit card company suggested she continue with the dispute as she has no guarantee that National Support Solutions would refund her money and she already does not trust them. She intends to see this through and will take it to the States Attorney's office next.
National Support Solution - a scam I got a pop up warning message telling me not to ignore it and to call them. The alert also warned me that if I ignored the message, Microsoft would cut off my computer – allegedly because my infected computer would infect their network. The alert also claimed that my credit card information, and other data was being accessed/stolen. It seemed like a scam to me but I called the number to see what they would tell me. The Guy who answered assure me that they are an authorized Microsoft provider. When he asked for access to my computer I told him – “no - I am not comfortable giving you access”. He tried to convince me that he was legit. I got his name and the company’s name and while he was on the phone with me I had my co-worker look him up on LinkedIn. From his LinkedIn profile I could see that he did indeed work for National Support Solution but his title was a sales position (I could see he was based out of Florida). His LinkedIn profile only confirmed my suspicion so I sent him on away - back to swamps of Florida.
Grade A company
National support solutions did a really good job fixing my computer. The gentlemans name that fixed it was Frank. my computer was running really slow and i couldnt get on any web sites at all. after they fixed it the computer was working great. I dont understand why all of these people are saying this company is a scam???? If you didnt want them to work on your computer then do not pay them money.. If you pay them money and they fix your computer then obviously they provided you a service.. The real scammers are overseas.
My spouse fell for the same scheme described in report # 1321222
She paid them $300.00 with a visa account.
Was told the there was a year service with the payment.
A week later the same crap came on and they wanted another $300.00 to fix it.
They clamed that we had not paid them. Contacted the credit card company and they had been paid.
We filed a complaint and so no father funds would be paid to them
I went on line and got a copy of there guarantee it said that within thirty days if we were dissatisfied they would return our money. So I filed a complaint, and expted a refud. No way did they live up to there word.
To day we were called by them. On 561 354 0651, a number without a name listing. But from a telephone without a listing owned by a phone co. US Lec of Florida Inc.
One thing that this has taught me is if anyone contacts you on line or by phone and tells you your computer has been violated or hacked he or she are the hacker and to turn off your computer quickly so that no further damage can be done by this hacker.2016-11-19
Duped!!
Nice way of saying Scammed!! I was also a victim of National Support Solutions. I received the same red pop up up all over my screen with a small message from Microsoft and s number to call. I was so frightened that I did. I gave the very convincing caller access to my computer, and my credit card number for the fix and virus protection. I had my doubts, but I did it anyway. I thought they were legit. They even called two more times checking up on me to see if everything was alright and to see if I had any problems! This made me feel happy, protected. This took place about a year ago or more. Yesterday I received a call from them asking how my computer was working. They also informed me of an update to the virus program on my machine and there was no charge for it. Do I gave them access to my computer and they installed it. They asked if I had any problems and I explained I had a couple of days before with red error screens while working on a church program. He immediately searched on my computer and saw I had a Russian address and an address from Mumbai India accessing my computer. He said I needed to take it to an Office Depot for a root cleaning at a charge of 400. I asked if they could do it and he said because I was a customer of theirs they would charge $200. I had a bad feeling about this, do I said I would call him back. I contacted a niece, expert in computers, and after looking into the situation, let me know I was scammed. She is now working on removing Windows and the virus protection, and reinstalling it and Windows defender. Of course, she let me know NEVER to let anyone have access to my computer and a few other recommendations for the future. Sigh! Sad world we live in.
they keep calling
They assured me that after paying $350 my computer was virus free for life. Now they call & say something is wrong with my computer & they want more money. I don't answer their calls anymore. What a scam!!!!!!!!!!!
SCAMMED
LAST YEAR I GOT A POP UP MESSAGE ON MY COMPUTER TELLING ME I HAD A VIRUS AND WHATEVER ELSE THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. I COULDN'T GET IT OFF SO I CALLED THE NUMBER. LIKE A DUMMY I GAVE THEM ACCESS TO MY COMPUTER AND I WAS A $3OO.00 MISTAKE. TODAY I GET A PHONE CALL SAYING THEY NEED TO UPDATE, THEY TOLD ME I HAD ALL KINDS OF PORTALS FROM (YES) INDIA AND TO TAKE MY COMPUTER TO BEST BUY OR STAPLES I TOLD THEN I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO DO THAT AND THEN THEY SAID THEY COULD DO IT FOR $250.00. THEN I KNEW SOMETHING WAS TERRIBLY WRONG SO I TOLD THEM I WOULD CALL THEM IF I DECIDED TO DO THAT. I REMOVED ALL OF THEIR SOFTWARE OFF MY COMPUTER AND CHANGED A FEW PASSWORDS. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS. IF I EVER GET A POP UP LIKE THAT AGAIN, I'LL JUST SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER!
