National Self Reliance Association Reviews
I ordered 2 laser sights, one at $19.95, and one additional one at $9.95. Without my full knowledge, I was signed up for a "14-day trial" of the national self reliance association. Their spokesperson says there was a full page on the Internet explaining this, but I certainly do not remember seeing it. In fact, the original ad said the second sight at the reduced price was due to reduced shipping costs, two in the same package, so to speak.
Before I knew it I had two $39.95 charges on my bank account, one for July and one for August.
Seems to me they are making money on people being charged for something they didn't want, or order.
I did recently receive a small magazine and a small "gift," likely worth about $4.99. The magazine has an insert explaining the subscription, but no mention of price.
I just want to alert others to this company's methodology.
This man (Oli Fischer) and his companies (National Self Reliance Association, et al) say I authorized an onging web site subscription of $39, which I never did. I never received a receipt or anything stating such, just a welcome to the family email. Unfortunately they charged a little used credit card of mine so I never checked it until after 5 months of charges to it. Now they wont refund the 5 months. I have never gone to their website and they know it. They use multiple website and emails to confuse people and even control many of the "negative" websites about them, so its difficult to actually complain about them. I don't even know if their website or products are any good or not, but I can judge a company by the way they handle unhappy customers. And they have refused any kind of reasonable refund. Do NOT subscribe. If you do, CANCEL.
How
How do you cancel the subscription. I couldn’t find where to cancel :/
I ordered two gun sights for about $25.00. They not only charged that to my credit card but made an unauthorized additional charge of about $39.00. The company has no listed telephone or email addresses. The junk email I get from them is not monitored so I cannot contact them through that method.
If ordering anything from this co.do use a credit card!!T
The same thing happened to me with the NSRA fraud.Luckily I figured out what was happening and contacted the bank. They knew about this company and
refunded all charges.I still get gifts and the original items were shipped after charges refunded.Be careful if doing business with Oli Fischer,NSRA or the
Crisis Gear as they are the same people.
not above board
I ordered a product from My Crisis Gear which I received and paid for. However there was a charge for joining the organization. I did not join the association and was taken aback by the charge. I am trying to cancel this subscription as I never wanted it, never ordered it and never authorized a charge for it.
Further details beware of entering credit card info.
To add to the discussion, if you enter your information into the site, there is no order confirmation button, it simply places the order. Legitimate sites have a confirm or place order button that allows you to modify or opt out. I called the 800 number on the order confirmation e-mail and was assured that my credit card would be credited. 1-800-370-8660 is the number. Hopefully the order cancellation call works, if not it will be refuted at the credit card level, another reason to never use a debit card! With all of the free stuff etc., sounded too good to be true, likely is. The offer of two weeks free should have alerted me, but after reading about this on this site, I decided against doing any business with them.
I do not believe that I have ever ordered anything from any site, where I did not confirm the order, but once they had my credit card info, beware, they will charge you, and after two weeks, it appears that you get the second bill on the credit card for the National Self Reliance Association, and likely an automatic re-bill annually thereafter. This may not be a sleazy organization, but that is how questionable internet sites do business.
Be Careful
Be careful about these folks. They seem to have more than one website. NSRA.com is one, Oli Fischer is another as well as mycrisisgear.com. There are so many websites that offer the same items with all the literature and sales pitch verbatim. They tried to soak me for $39/month but I caught onto them quickly and suspended all payments to them. I didn't bother talking to them, no need to. Refusal to pay is, in itself, justifiable cause to terminate the account.
I am being charged for items i did not order and phone # does not work and e-mail does not go through
