National Recovery Services, LLC Reviews
One day, they had a woman call me and leave me a voicemail on my smart phone. She said she was a server and was looking for me. I had to be at my home between 3-5 p.m. and if not, she would need to serve my garnishment papers to me at work. I panicked and call the number she left, which was 443-313-6408.
I talked to a "Jeff Goldstein" who worked there and he was impatient and needed me to set up payment plans for an old debt. I got suspicious after they took money out of my account the first time...there was no follow up in the mail like an invoice or anything. They sent me a docusign thru email, but they only had their business name on it and nothing else.
There was no phone number or address available. That's when it hit me that I gave them access to my bank account information. They took out $142.50, but today I told my credit union about it and had them stop so no more money could be taken out. I know a lady from work who checked the phone number and it's a scam.
She checked a second phone number and it's a mobile number (716) 359-7844 that is also a scam (she works in finance and has access to all kinds of info.). I cancelled my account and card. I really thought they were legit at first. They also go by Global Crossing Local Srvcs. [email protected] is the email I received.
Due to scams that are out there now, I like to screen my phone calls. Whenever I see that a voicemail is left indicating a legal matter, yet I have not received anything in writing, I will not call back to waste my time. In this case, I found the name of the company based on a search with the number that shows up on my caller ID.
These people have called my family on multiple occasions apparently not to look for me, but to alert them that I am involved in a legal matter, and more recently, to let them know I have a pending court date. I have NEVER received any document indicating this, and also do not think that they should be able to disclose information that I feel would be confidential, if true, to anyone other than myself.
Furthermore, they are contacting people with whom I've never lived with, in states I've never lived in. I have never furnished the numbers they are calling as possible numbers to reach me in ANY document.
I see these attempts as harrassment, and as attempts to defame my character to my family, and who knows who else they are calling without my knowledge. The voicemails they leave are threatening in nature, as I do not believe that they are willing to act on threats of suit, as it has been followed by any document furnished to me. I rarely speak to my sister due to a fallout we had years ago, and now she thinks I am being sued.
NRS apparently operates under their own rules, and I would be very happy to be a part of any class-action lawsuit that would be filed against them. I have seen multiple complaints on the internet about this company, and most of them are stating the same thing. Family, friends, employers, all being contacted, and I'm sure, being told all sorts of private information that they should not be privy to.
Something needs to be done to these frauds, and if there is something going on, I will gladly sign my name to it.
