National Magazine Exchange Reviews

After giving my info and telling them I could only afford $4.95, he again asked if I could pay $24.00 that I previously told him I could NOT pay... So I changed My mind and told him to forget the whole thing, that I didn't want the magazines!!! He got an attitude and said that I could just pay the $4.95, and I said " no forget it, I do NOT want them" and he said " ok fine no purchase is necessary for the sweepstakes" and hung up!!! 2 seconds later I get the ping on my phone that $23.95 had been taken out, leaving me with $1.38 for almost 2 weeks!!! Thanks jerks!!! So I called the customer support and they told me that it was just a pending charge and that the money would be put back in, in about 2-3 business days... Lol I was like what pending charge for what? I didn't buy anything, I told him to forget it and the customer support is basically useless!!! I've seen that I'm not the only one they're doing this to!

I received entry for the new Strike It Rich X Sweepstakes telling me I have to call in to regesiter.

I think they got my info when I bought some things on line and I took advantage of the offer to recieve free magazines because this Strike It Rich X Sweepstakes is from Natioal Magazine Exchange.

Anyway, they'll never get me because I am much to old and wise to get taken by these nitwits.

Just wanted everyone to know that this is out there and to be careful.

I called to inter the Sweepstakes. I entered and they talked to me about magaziness and i said i did not read them. They talked me into ordering them. They would help my chances in the sweepstakes. I would get a watch with the order. i called to cancel and they said i could not cancel them they were already in the process to be sent to me, and they were already paid for. I was unable to cancel them. I live on a fixed income and i am 80 years old. I feel they really took advantage of me. Violet [email protected] Quincy, Florida

National Magazine Exchange is notorious for sending sweepstakes winning mail pieces to consumers in every state then when you call they sell you magazines. They are known to target seniors. I will tell you the sure fire way to get your money back. You must know that when you place your first order they will call you 3 months later to sell more mags. Before you know it you have spent $800.00 for 7 mags and will receive for 8yrs. In order to cancel you must arm yourself with rebuttals just as their paid reps are First thing you say is you are in a right to cancel state and you would like to cancel now and receive a full refund. This especially works well within 14 days of your initial order. If their system shows you received mags they will prorate refund. Now let's say you get a hardhead rep who totally disregards what you just said We call it acknowledge and ignore. You go to rebuttal 2 which is you or your loved one suffers from dementia or Alzheimer's. This is not a joke and honestly they should start processing a full refund asap. If they don't ask for a supervisor. A supervisor or 2 are always on duty. Repeat the dementia explanation and follow-up with the fact your next call is to the attorney General and the bbb I was one of their best but my approach was a more humanist approach to seniors who were ripped off. I did my best to be polite and caring. I only worked there to make ends meet always looking for a new job which I always found then nme. I hope this helps you. Best regards. Dont answer sweepstakes.

It was all about the purchasing of magazines...they will NOT cancel my order of the magazines I did NOT want in the first place... They have my credit card number which I called to void payments. They were billing me first of all before the magazines even came in and now that apparently they said I'm not paying them for magazines I did NOT want my file is now going into collections... SERIOUSLY WTF!! This big sweepstakes to maybe win money was them harassing you to buy stupid magazines!! Oh, ya and he offered me a fancy watch too which probably was a joke also!!! Big scam for sure how about illegal I am way beyond pissed!!

Plain and simple scam!! I am so pissed it was some free lotto online which I used my credit card because it was simple to keep playing and I did!! Then awhile after this is where it started some guy called and said I would win this watch really just what I need a watch ya OK!! Then he swindled his way in to selling magazines... So then they sent bills out before I even got magazines!! Really!! Now I'm getting the magazines and my file has gone into collections!! Wtf!! I have called several times to cancel and they won't... I have a right to cancel at anytime I did not sign anything and it is not a contract legally!! They were rude on the phone and everytime I raised my voice at them because I was mad they hung up!! One time they hung up because they said I was being rude What!! You have my credit card number and you keep sending me bills for magazines I don't even want and I'm calling to cancel they wouldnt even let me do that!! I told them this is the only language you guys seem to understand is me swearing at you!! They would not even talk to me!! They said people who have already subscribed are happy Really then why am I here along with other complaints from different people. How can you do this to people that think they are winning money but yet you are stealing from them...how would you feel??? So question is are you doing an illegal scam and how much money have you swindled from innocent people lets just say might not know any better!!

I received a letter that I was eligible for a winning prize. They gave me an ID number and a number to call. It said it was not necessary to make any purchase or pay anything. When I call they asked me for the ID number and he register me. He told me that I have to go to Florida to recived a check. Then he started to make some offers about some magazines and offered a diamond watch as a gift. He spoke so fast that I had no time to answer rather quickly transfer the call to his boss. He started asking me my credit card. He was very insistent and told him I didn't want no magazines and he insisted on my credit card. I told him that I want to cancel, he told me that cancellations are not accepted. He kept urging asking for the credit card number. I asked him if it was a trusted payment to give my credit card number, he told me that were supposedly a veary trusted US company and did not say anything more. I gave my credit number but with a false expiration date. I still tell him that I want to cancel it because I needed to consult first and he gets mad and start to claim me why and I hang up the call. Then called back to ask them some questions about that suppost winning prize and the person who answered told me that if I had bought the magazines!!

Today December 17th 2015 I received a letter indicating that I would be entered into a sweepstakes to win either $45,000.00 cash or a2017 Ford Super Duty F-250 Lariat . So I dialed the toll free number on the letter. When the operator answered and asked for the ID number 932664364 which I submitted, she welcomed me to the sweepstakes wishing me luck then inquiring about my having both a credit card and debit card which set off a red flag. So I immediately told her that I had ran into a problem that caused my cancellation of my bank debit card and had no other card until I received my replacement. She transferred my call to another person who was more consistent in requesting either credit card information or debit card number. Then after I continue to explain that there was no credit card or debit card, that person attempted to convince me to call my bank to set up checks so I could give her the information so they would have access to my account. I immediately disconnected the call and looked up any illegal activity from this company and found a few. This encouraged me to file a complaint about this company. Sincerely David Beckett

The National Magazine Exchange told me I could change the magazines I received because I couldn't hear them well enough to know what they were saying.

The problem is they have never sent me any way to make the changes and they have sent me some totally unacceptable magazines and only one that I like.

I want to either be able to change the magazines or cancel the withdrawal of funds from my account.

Wow more changes in management.

Now Rob Paolillo is President and COO? It's all on you now Mr P.

And no CFO listed on their site? How many CFO's in the past 15 years? I've lost count at least five.

Chuck are you still out there? Any new comments on this place.

To current/past employees, surely some of you are watching this site and have updates and comments to share.

To new readers pay attention, this company paid $535,000 to the FTC (federal trade commission) for infractions against telemarketing laws.

I am a past employee. I should have listened to Chuck Denova and never worked there. I even asked management about Chuck (as he was well published on this site) as well as all the other negative information posted. Management had a well scripted "rebuttal" to my questions including a full "script" about Chuck and I was dumb enough to try working there.

FOLKS DO NOT BUY THE MAGAZINES! SAY NO AND HANG UP!

I was contacted after checking "yes" in the wrong box, and decided to get a subscription because I could choose 5 different magazines from a list of about 200. We homeschool, and some of the magazines were useful to that end.

I told them not to take the money before the 20th, when I get paid. They did. They told me they were lowering the rate from 39.90 to 29.90 to apologize, and that no money would come out next month until the 20.

On the 17th, 39.90 was taken from my account, which then sent numerous small transactions into the negative, and quickly racked up $172 in overdraft fees.

I called them on speakerphone in the office of the banker, and they claimed that I had no account, they had no record of my name, address, or phone number in their system, and that the amounts I stated did not match their rates.

They denied all knowledge of me.

The bank filed it as fraudulent and sent it to the proper dept, then canceled my card.

I bet they admit who I am when they call me to find out why I filed it as such......
