I worked at this location around Thanksgiving. Starting on a Friday, I trained from 10-5 with a half hour lunch break. The next week was Thanksgiving week so the office was only open Monday and Tuesday which I worked both days, handed off calls and one or two clients purchased. (The office opened the Friday after to help some reach their bonus but I never received a call or text letting me know the office was going to be open) The following week I worked that Monday from 10-5. Living in Sanford, if I did not take the toll roads to the office it would take an hour to get there so I was spending close to seven dollars round trip per day. I decided that the distance I had to travel and the money I was spending in gas and tolls were too much to work at a call center when there are hundreds in Sanford and LAke Mary, so I called Tuesday morning and let them know I was pursuing other options. I was told not to come in for my pay and that they would mail me my pay check. When you fill out your new hire packet one of the forms you sign states that if they terminate you or you quit that your $12 an hour drops to minimum wage and that your check will be mailed. So I figured that I would receive the check... It is now January 13th 2016. I have yet to receive a penny from this company. I gave them close to two months to place the check in the mail. So January 12, 2016 I went to their office to attempt to get paid. Supposedly my check is not there. It is in Portland Oregon where the corporate headquarters is located. Being that they send payroll from Portland to Orlando then my checks should have made it to Orlando and then the office should have mailed them too me. According to the manager behind the glass window my pay checks are not there and he needs to call corporate, but being that it was 2pm they would be very busy so he would have to take my name address and phone number and follow up with corporate and call and let me know. It has been 24 hours since I was at the office and have yet to receive a call from anyone. I have a bill from the toll plaza for $70 dollars for the days I wasted my time and gas to go to work for them. If he needed my address and phone number it would be on the four sheets of paper that I filled out when hired. I usually give companies and humans in general the benefit of the doubt to do the right thing. But going on two months now I am almmost positive this company never intends on paying me a dime. Since I have owned multiple businesses myself I am aware that I should bring this to the attention of The Department of Labor and Industry. As I see this company post ads on craigslist daily claiming to be the best call center in Orlando, I caution anyone looking for work to take into account that when it comes time to try and get your paycheck that you are rightly owed that you will be given the " I dont know Ill have to look into it" excuse. If a check miraculously appears in my mail box I will happily take this down. But if there is no call back prior to end of business today I will be writing a complaint to the Dept of Labor and Industry.
