Emailed & spoke to Bob Piker about repair . Paid in advance . Sent watch . Always had to initiate contact to him from that point on . Watch is done and testing then should go out in 3 days was his last reply after I contacted him twice by email about it . Took 2 weeks after that to get it after my plea for watch return status for the 3rd time . Watch has not kept time after sitting a few days or with daily use . My advice is have a modern movement replace the sweep hand Accutron movement or ask Bulova to engineer a modern Accutron replacement that any local competent watch repair facility can do . This may help the public to avoid tenuous negative substandard operators .
I purchased two watches from MyBob.net (Bob Piker) at the same time. He promised that both would be freshly serviced and in excellent condition. When they arrived, one of them was in pitiful condition. It stopped intermittently. The hands would not stay where they were set. Sometimes, it even ran backward. The other watch was not the one I ordered. I had specified both watches by the stock numbers on Bob's website. In the photos there, one of them showed the serial number of the watch. I also specified that serial number when I ordered the watches. He substituted a different watch with a different serial number.
I should have done my research before ordering the watches from Bob. There are many very bad reviews about him if you do a bit of checking around on the net.
I apologize for the length of my story, but I communicated with Bob prior to sending my Accutron Spaceview Cushion case (less band) for repair. Received the info on how to pack and insure it, and where to send it. I completed a detailed form from his website providing not only a description of what I needed done, but included a note that he had promised to place a Speidel Twist-o-Flex band on it for free as well.
Several weeks past and he finally notified me that it would not require any parts and that I needed to forward a check for $210 for his service. I made the check out to MyBob.net and sent it out. A few weeks later he sent an email to let me know that he could not deposit the check as it was posted and that I needed to either send a new one made out to Bob Piker or send the money via PayPal and that he would then send my original check back to me. I sent the money via PayPal, which he acknowledged as being received.
I then left a couple of voicemails and emails to follow up on the progress of his efforts. I finally got notice in my bank account that Bob had deposited the previously undepositable check. So I left a Voicemail. Then I got a notice that it was in the mail including the tracking info (this was just a few days prior to Thanksgiving). I received the watch, but to my dismay it wasn't my watch, and in fact wasn't even close (different case design completely). I responded to Bob via Voicemail first, and never received a response, then sent several emails (including pictures of my watch, front and back views). He finally responded via a phone call where I proceeded to explain that not only did I receive the wrong watch, but he had double charged me for his effort. He explained that he would PayPal my overcharge back (which he did expediently), and that in his rush to ship out all of the watches he was working on before the Holiday he must have shipped the wrong ones to a few people.
I sent back the watch that he had sent me, and then contacted him about when I should expect mine back to which he responded that the gentleman that had it had stated that he would send it back to Bob soon. After a couple weeks had passed I followed up again, and now I am told via a group email that he sent out my watch to another customer (which one he has no clue) and is asking that they return it.
It is now 12/17/2016 and I have heard nothing from Bob about where my watch is, who has it, or when it may be returned (nor have I heard anything about refunding my money or compensation for my lost watch).
This may not be a typical story with Bob's service, but Buyer Beware!
I was going to let this go, but I feel obligated to let others know and hopefully keep them from making the same mistake.
Contacted Bob from www.mybob.net discussing a service and repair on a vintage Bulova Accutron watch.
He replied with pricing of $190 and a time frame of 4-weeks for the service to be complete
I sent him the watch and paid via Paypal.com
After 4 weeks passed, I emailed Bob and he told me he would not be able to make the time frame
I told him that was fine, I would rather him take his time instead of rushing
Fast-forward almost 4 months later, I received a notification from USPS that the watch was being shipped back to me - never a message from Bob.
I received the watch and immediately noticed it was still not working properly--stopping every few seconds.
I made a video of the issue and posted it to youtube and sent Bob the link so he could see I wasn't lying.

I also filed a claim with Paypal for services not rendered.
I received a refund and a message from Bob telling me how a 50-year-old watch may need more fine tuning
When I got up this morning, I discovered the watch had completely stopped.
I decided to open up the back to see if he had done ANYTHING other than maybe changing the battery. It was apparent that he did NOT do a service and repair, as the seals were old and broken.
I also noticed the tiny bar that holds the battery is now missing.

Two attempts at vintage watch repair and restoration. Mailed and remailed watch to the business. Watch works however no new crystal as he stated, no new watch hands as he stated. With first repair effort, he "forgot" to install hands and crystal. Second repair effort he "forgot" to send the replaced parts. He said, "Maybe I damaged the crystal when I installed it." "Yeah, right!" Cost $410.00.
Asked for $80.00 refund of the cost for the crystal and hands and I was given $15.00 after I told him I was going to mail my watch to a watch craftsman. He said, "Here is $15.00 to help with shipping to the other person." "Thanks Bob!"
He did however include a watch band at no charge. An old twist-o-flex that was filthy and needed a thorough cleaning before wearing. He did install it on the watch and got mad when I didn't appreciate the band and mentioned that it was dirty. He did wantme to return the watch a third time. You bet, "Third time is a charm."
Ok, let me get this straight! "Didn't do what you said you would do. I didn't get what I paid for and when I asked for compensation you got mad that I didn't mention the free dirty watch band!" "Go figure!"
This guy is an unskilled hobbyist at the least. Watch out! (interesting he calls himself a "hobbyist" on his website). He is no professional. He has a nice website and talks a good game.
Here is his warranty stated by himself on his website."Is there a written repair warranty? If you ask for one I will gladly provide it without question. It is easy to know where you stand after an Accutron repair has been performed by me. There isn't a better quarantee available."
Priceless!!!
Watch repair: $410.00. Refund when work is not completed: $15.00. Lesson learned: Priceless!
