When I purchased policy, specifics were asked of covered services: Mamograms, Colonoscopy, etc & was told yes those were approved yearly covered exams. Afterwards, claim was denied stating pre-existing and denied claim, although procedure was cleared with pre-auth. Later they said I had no coverage (laps which is a lie) and denied claim with NO notifications. Affiliates of the facility, as well as facility have turned me into collections bureau since company has changed it's story multiple times. I'm disputing on credit report which has halted the purchase of a home until resolved.
I'd called in September 2020 to have coverage cancelled 10/01/2020 as medicare would taken effect. They state they have no record of call & collected Oct/Nov. Now they will cancel 12/02/2020 with no refund of prior 2 months after requested cancellation. Mid stream after the colonoscopy they dropped my coverage to ltd benefits w/no notification, of course monthy fee was not adjusted. This is worthless covereage. I cancelled any further scheduled testing so I don't choke on those bills after the fact. I was never notified by My Benefits Keeper of claim denial, drop in coverage. They don't communicate!
Take money, deny claims and consumers have no recourse. It would have been cheaper to pay the full $175 well care visit 2x per year than shelling out thousands for nothing. They are a bonefied scam. Imagine that.
I tried several times to get my statement online for my claims paid or declined for my heathcare providers but failed. Apparently they want me to call with specific information about the claim and insist on providing them with specific date and provider name. I expalined to them I have had health insurance before and the comanies allow you to see the statement that one can drill down or filter by date or name of provider to view your statement online without calling the insurer. The agent became upset when I asked why are they hiding my claims since I pay my isurance evdery month. I suspect they are denying claims without me knowing because I was in hospital but keep getting unpaid bills from the hospital and docors that provided the service. Now I cannot tell who was paid or not.
Mybk is the only website that shows the benefits and payments but NOT the claims. That smells corruption or fraud because when I called the number they claimed the are only responsible for billing and nothing to do with claims. If I can see my payments why can not see how the money was paid out by logging into same account or a different one for the insurance? Most of these represntatives have an Asian ascent and suspect they are contractors outsied the USA. I could be wrong but threre is no cooperation to provide my claims statement online for a huge insurance comapany; that is unheard of. I even asked them to send me a copy of my Maay or Spril statement when I was in hospital but never received anything till to date. That is unacceptable!
