Mid February, Chace Wamsley came to my home. He said My Connect Inc. had taken over Vivint. Vivint was my home security company. As part of the take over My Connect Inc. was to contact each customer. My Connect Inc was upgrading all their customers to keep the systems technologically current. They were also required, as part of the buyout, to arrange a payoff of old accounts. Wamsley arranged a loan through Lendingpoint. The $3889 was to payoff my old Vivint contract and set up the new equipment contract.
My system was installed February 19, 2020. The installation took over eight hours. In that time Chace Wamsley, was at my home to check on the installation as was Adam Viator. Mike Berlin was the head technician, he was assisted by a trainee. The system was not complete and I was told the technicians would be back in a week to complete and refine any equipment or software problems. The follow up never occurred. The equipment began failing within a month.
I called My Connect Inc repeatedly over March and April. They were informed that Vivint was still billing me, I was promised a refund. I reported the equipment fails, I was promised new equipment and told they were waiting for a shipment. I was told the check to Vivint had been sent and Donna would follow up to solve my problem. In May no one answered and I was billed again by Vivint. I went onto My Connect Inc.'s facebook and left an email. No response. In June, I called again and got an individual who said his name was Don Apple. I explained the situation. He asked for an email to be sent to the owner, Adam Viator, and himself with the information about the situation. Again I was promised reimbursement of the Vivint charges. The requested emails were sent. No response. I called and emailed again, no response.
At this point I am out almost $4000 for cheap DIY equipment that doesn't work, a slow software that takes hours to notify you, 6 plus months of double bills, no old contract payoff, and $1500-2000 damage to my home because of a poor install.
My Connect Inc. did not buy Vivint, my loan papers were taken by one of the four My Connect Inc. people, and I'm stuck with continued double billing. As I've tried to get some response from My Connect Inc. I've found a number of reviews. The three good reviews were all associates of Adam Viator. Of the rest, 50% mention Vivint, 70% mention difficulties with billing, 100 percent mention difficulty contacting the company. According to an attorney this is a slam and scam. Be warned and beware.
