Beware these guys are not honest. I just bought a house in the Villages. The air doesn't cool properly and most of the time it wont cool lower than low 80's. Its brand new. I called and tech came out and said nothing is wrong, "your blinds are open". I called and complained and another tech came out and told me the air is fine but it is against the law in FL to install a unit that will cool below 78 degrees. What???!!
I researched and called the county and my realtor and 2 other air companies. There is no such law. I called another a/c company and had them inspect and they said the problem is that the put a 2 ton unit in a 1900 sq foot house. I called the bulding inspector and verified it is a 2 ton. I also called the county for calculations on what size unit to install to cool my house. They too said it was only about half the tonnage needed. I called another cooling company and same story. All say it needs at a minimum of a 3.5 ton unit or larger to service this house. I called and talked to every supervisor at Munns. The first one tried to tell about that bogus law and I told him send it to me because there is no such law. He backed off that claim when I called them out on it. He sent another tech out that told me something is wrong with the unit but he cant fix it. (this is because its too small). I called another supervisor and he told me they do all their calculations before installing and I told him my findings and he said he would have his supervisor call me. I still haven't heard back.
We have been baking in our new home for a week now and I can't get any action from these guys even though I have been calling daily.
Has this happened to anyone else out there? Since they wont admit that my unit is the wrong size I am wondering if they do this to people routinely to save money and boost their profit.
Please post if you have had issues similar to this. I will be pursuing all resources available including the FL Atty Generals office. I will be glad to tell them your case too.
