Beware of Stillman Kelly, otherwise calls himself a Professor at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut California. I hired him for a job to shoot my son's baseball game and this was several months ago. Not only did he show up LATE, but he fiddled with the camera for 30 minutes! He also claimed the battery wasn't working. He did this for 20 minutes, and merely adjusted the settings and the legs on the tripod.
I asked him what kind of camera it was. He said it was a "school camera." I had to think; I did, twice...why was he USING a school camera! I paid him well for a professional camera. Then when he finally got it up and running, this school camera, I only got the last 20 minutes of my son's game, not a full game! This was a very important game, this was my son's football championship game and Stillman wanted $350 dollars up front as he said he was a "Professor."
He appeared to brag about it to. I tried to find out what his education was, but it was not listed anywhere on linkedin or anywhere! Not even one photo of him up on the Internet. I suspect he does this often and conceals his identity. I assume it's not a good degree whatever it is he claims he has that makes him a Professor. And more, his camera work is horrible! Kelly kept zooming in and out and on one punt he got the players that were not even supposed to be in the shot...they were not doing anything but on the sidelines!
He was persistent that I pay him in advance, and that was bad news for me! After the game he told me that there were no refunds but he could do another game for me. Really, another game of amatuer zooming in and out? No thank you. This was the championship game; the footage was not replaceable!!! I was rather surprised in his lack of promptness and more, he didn't refund me. He handed me his card and said let's do anther game. I asked him later on the phone what his credentials were and again, he said he was a Professor. I told him that I got BETTER camera work from high school students that I have hired in the past, and for $50 dollars!
I agrued with him for a few minutes then hung up. He ripped me off. This man does NOT know what he is doing. When an amatuer can do a better job at camera work than him, a High School student, there is a problem. I feel so sorry for his students; I sincerely do. BEWARE: do not hire him. And keep your hand on your walet if you go anywhere near him. Also, he is using school cameras. What kind of Professor uses the school cameras! Ridiculous. BEWARE! Do not hire this theif.
