On February 8, 2022, I took my car to Mr. Fix It Auto & Engine Repair. I asked the owner Odai Odeh how long it would take to rebuild my car engine and he told me that it depends on my method of paying. As a matter of fact, Mr. Odai told me that if I paid the whole amount, which is $2000, he would get my car ready within a week. I agreed, and using Zelle, I transferred $2000 from my US Bank account to his US Bank account.
Few days later, I called Mr. Odai at 1 (708) 864-8449 and he told me that my car was not ready yet. I waited another week and I called again, however; Mr. Odai stopped picking up. I left messages but he did not respond. I started texting him and same thing, he wouldn’t text back. I then decided to drive to his business place located at 1216 Missouri Ave. South Milwaukee, WI 53172. However, the garage was closed.
I then visited at different times and on different days, but the garage door was locked, and nobody would come open the door. That is when I started panicking because for over a week I couldn’t get hold of Mr. Odai. Finally, I got hold of him and he told me that he will start on my car in a couple of days. Mr. Odai kept delaying fixing my car and making my life miserable until March 26, 2022.
It took Mr. Odai 58 days to fix my car. I tried to take it before that date, but Mr. Odai refused to pay me back the $2000. That is when I understood why he asked for the $2000 upfront. When I went to pick up my car on March 26, 2022, Mr. Odai told me that I owed him another $500 because he changed other parts in my engine.
Mr. Odai never informed me about changing other parts or asking for my approval. Therefore, the $500 was pure extorsion. When I refused to pay the $500, Mr. Odai threatened to “mess” my engine up. Being completely exhausted at that point, I paid Mr. Odai the $500 using Zelle (please see attached bank proof).
Mr. Odai then allowed me to take my care and told me that he needed it back for a mandatory oil change after I drive it only 100 miles. I did drive the car 94 miles then called him to bring it in for the promised oil change. Mr. Odai told me to drive it for another 200 miles. I did that then called him for an appointment for oil change. Mr. Odai asked me to bring the car on Wednesday March 30th at 3 PM.
