During the quoting process they offered a complete service, a full understanding and expertise. In addition, they said "we understand all the stress moving out of country brings to a family, so trust on us". Big mistake! Those were only fake sale arguments, the experience has been horrible! This happened 6 months ago and it still going on.
They charged for an "experienced loading crew" that would load and package big furniture. False, 2 operators, one local hired force without experience, the other a careless contractor. Loading was a day long, after 1 day delay. "The moving crew had the truck broken", they said, reality the contractor was in other state and couldn’t reach (it was only 1 guy moving all across Midwest US and being hired by different moving companies on demand). The truck with the container, which again was a contractor, wanted to charge for the extra time.
But I denied!
Packaging ended up been made mostly by us (family), because they had limited resources. Not even screwdrivers with them to disassemble furniture!
Furniture got damaged by the inexperienced "crew of 2”. The moving company, at that point, was still answering my calls and offering apologies, because that was very rare according their speech... now, reading reviews outside their website THAT WAS NOT RARE AT ALL!
DON'T WORRY THEY SAID CONSTANTLY, INSURANCE WILL COVER...Long story short, after 6 months no repair have been offered by Move Management and nice emails during quotation turned to rude, unapologetic and unrresponsive. The insurance company (PAC Global, a third company) has delayed payment for undisclosed reasons, and now want me to contact Move Management, again, for payment (Do you think they will reply my emails now?... I don’t). In circumstances that the insurance company requested my data and address to send the check directly (There is something muddy, that I can’t understand there!!! ).
By the way, the money I’m expecting from insurance is way lower than the amount I requested for damages (repairing quotation from a trustable local company was included). But in order to "leave this behind, and move forward" I accepted a settlement and didn't dispute... stay away of them too!
Move Management force you to pay100% once shipment leaves port of loading. Of course I wasn’t confident of paying. But otherwise they don't release the shipment (so they really have you trapped). Soon after payment, I hardly heard from them again...
Good thing is that contractors in Chile did a very professional and efficient work. However, the Chilean counterpart wanted me to pay for their services, despite that was already paid to Move management Int. After long discussion and papers showing that it was paid to Move management, the Chilean company didn’t bother me any longer. I hope they received their part...
Please read this and other reviews, and don’t get dizzy with their promises!!! I have had experiences with other companies that charges 30% more, but truly worth the money. MOVE MANAGEMENT INTERNATIONAL didn't give me a genuine service and peace of mind… moving and starting in another country is stressful enough to deal with irresponsibles on top.
I truly wish to get the insurance money (because of piece of mind, not for the money, because is little) and be able to close this awful chapert of life for good.
