I was working with Kevin thier sales manager and Brett the owner on purchasing a vehicle from thier company. They knew.I was planning on making a trip from Wisconsin to North Canton, OH were they are located. We talked over the phone several times about all the specific of the car. Details, how many of ers, car fax info, how they got, conditipn, condition, and more about the condition. They sent me over 60 photos of the vehicle. More than what they already had on thier website. Long story short after research of my own on the vehicle. We decided we were going to make the long drive to buy this vehicle. The owners exact words to me were this vehicle is so clean that he would put it in his personal collection. That everything he buys, that is on his lot is in what they call near perfect/ mint condition for used vehicles or it would not be.on his lot. Well either his car collection sucks and his filled with beat up, crappy cars or he lied through his teeth. His word means nothing.
We drove 10+ hours, took days off from work both myself and my wife, dropped our children off at the sitters, paid $75 in tolls there and back roughly, spent $400+ on hotels, gas, food,etc.... Drove home in a ice / snow storm.... Just to get to his lot and find out there was several things wrong with the vehicle. They never disclosed any problems.... We looked at the vehicle and determined within minutes that there was alot wrong. Here are a few things: Drivers door weather stripping ripped up. Drivers side floor carpet ripped and stained. Heavily worn. Drivers side plastic piece under pedals missing to divide from firewall. Side of drivers side chair plastic piece cracked and not connected. Just hanging thier. Center console broke. The pin that latches closed was glued and glued very badly at that. So it didn't close. Looked like a aftermarket lid was put on it. Not original for this truck. Passenger seat leather was ripped on the back pouch part of chair. Plastic piece missing from back seatbelt. Carpet stained in several spots and stunk of punk. Something sprayed over it to cover the smell. Outside the vehicle there were scratches all over to be expected. Passenger mirror had been hit on something and all scratched up. Trim over drivers side wheel well.was coming unattached. Rear bumber cracked in both corners. Spider Web cracks throughout the plastic. Very bad. All of this was with out even test driving it. The salesmen Kevin said to my wife and I that he didn't think about telling us about these things prior to us driving 500 miles because he didnt think any of the problems listed above were what he called " Deal Breakers" his exact words were "what did you expect it's a used car" I expected it to be a clean one owner in used mint condition like you said. In the picture.they sent non of these flaws happend to show up. They either darkens the pictures to keep from showing the bad or took pictures that excluded this from being seen. I could have kept my search going locally if I had known. We had worked out the deal over the phone for cash and all. I feel they had ample amount of time.to inform me of any of these condition issues. Instead we left without any apology from them or a simple sorry it didn't work out. Just well it is what it is, I guess you don't like the vehicle.
He had the nerve before we left instead of trying to do something to make the situation better, he said that he could find something wrong with our vehicle. I don't know if that was said to make him feel better about the situation or what. Our vehicle was an 09 GMC Denali in Excellant condition and less than 85,000 miles. What I would call showroom quality. What I thought we were going to buy. He was so rude my wife.was surprised by how I remained during all this. She thought I was going to knock this guy out. Hopefully I save someone else from being lied to, tricked, mis-informed. These guys we feel like are con-artists, scammers, and the reason used car salesmen get a bad name. Expose the frauds one at a time so they can't effect the hard working families that keep this great country great.
