Motel 6 Reviews

  • Jan 4, 2023

December 28th 2022 I made a reservation through a go to for motel 6 in Scottsdale arizona. I'd stayed there several times beginning early last year with my brother and of all the motel 6 is in this area was the best one. However it wasn't before too long that they themselves showed the same disrespect and disregard for their guest as every other low-level Budget hotel in Phoenix arizona. It's not that my experiences with motel 6 have been pleasant, by far they have not been. Besides them being filthy disgusting and full of vagabonds and varmint of the two-legged variety. People who don't give a d**n about their guests but more just want to make a dollar and then when they're done is throw you out and threaten you by calling the police and not listen to anything you have to say. Instigating situations with people that they don't know who they're dealing with.

And their end all is to call the police like the police could really do anything about it anyway even if I wanted to squat there's nothing by law that the police could do to remove me only a judge can do that. that being said though this wasn't one of those cases. We had stayed there a couple weeks prior to that is my girlfriend and I who are both veterans and homeless at this present time. Thanks to people like the people we trusted and us vets. Another subject. So we do what we have to do and occasionally we have shelter. And this is one of those times that we did what we had to do and we have shelter.

However upon arrival I'm told that she cannot stay because she's been put on the do not rent list or better known as dnr. When I asked the reason why of course like all the them like extended Stay nobody knows the reasons why. Except that she cannot be there. And when I asked why then the girl told me behind the front desk rather rudely. Because she refused to leave. When I brought it up to the young lady that if she had been put on the DNR list for not leaving then I would have been put on the DNR list for not leaving. And this is where the snafu comes in. This is where the indiscrepancy comes in. Because they thought it was her alone with her service animal not me in there. the lady kept banging at the front door as rudely as it is. Did not know that it was me and her in there she never bothered to look at the books so she assumed it was just her and put her on the DNR list. Which brings my point of the fact that it's a lie. Because if she was on the DNR list then I most certainly would have been on the DNR list but I was not. The point I'm making is this person simply lied. Because she had some sort of problem with my girlfriend when my girlfriend's actually quite timid and non-confrontational. She wanted to put her on the do not rent list. Which is against the law when it comes to the hotel industry. Because according to the hotel laws in Arizona the grounds to put someone on the DNR list are as follows.

"Reasonableness depends upon the individual circumstances, but in the context of a hotel, it would be reasonable to refuse to rent a room to a guest who is engaging in bad behavior or illicit activities or whose admission would somehow interfere with the operation of the hotel or guest safety.

Accordingly, whether a hotel can justify barring a guest from future stays will involve the subjective judgment of the hotel staff and when subjective judgment is involved, reasonable minds may differ and the guest may be able to assert a claim"

If a guest is that disruptive, then the hotel should carefully document all of the guest’s complaints and the hotel’s attempts to resolve them

And quote. Because you cannot put someone on a DNR list for not leaving because the only person who can make them leave is a judge. They have to go before a court and get a judge's order and then it could be enforced to have them removed if they wanted to squat but they cannot themselves make them move. Because they're called transient housing or transient shelter not hotels in the state of arizona. Therefore for a innkeeper to deny a person stay is a violation. And one that motel 6 is now guilty of as well. and as we speak being pursued. I'm sick and tired of these wehotels in this state disrespecting their guests and thinking they can get away with it thinking that we're all ignorant to the laws and that we don't know what we're talking about. I warned her that I was going to stir things up if she did that because I needed to get to the hospital because of my medical condition and that I needed that room for my girlfriend and her service animal her being 30% disabled that way it enabled me to be able to be free to go to the hospital because I'm more than likely was going to be admitted. The fact that I told this young lady that me being in the car is my clots could kill me did not make her change her mind. To add insult to injury after I left I was placed on the DNR list as well. Unacceptable motel 6.

The one star Review is because of numerous issues, see below: We had to call the office to get clean bedding and towels. We found blood in the corner, the air conditioner dosen't work at all. Plus they don't have a microwave to heat up our food. The management here seems like they care less about the basic needs. We learned the hard way so here's the solution we will do the next time we stay at a Motel or Hotel.

1. Check the air conditioner or heater to see if it works.

2. Ask if the ice machine works.

3. See how often they bring clean bedding and towels.

4. Ask if they have a microwave that works.

5. Check the edges of the bed and headboard for suspicious things like bedbugs, excess hair or body fluids.

6. Ask when's the last time they purchased new mattresses.

7. Do they offer free Wi-Fi.

There's other things but these are the ones we will check on next time we spend the night at a motel or hotel. My boyfriend and I had to find a place to stay while in transition to find a place to live so we decided to go with Motel 6 in North Redding off of Twin View Blvd. We paid over $1,600 up front for 20 days. Most days we got no clean towels at all.

They refused to clean the blood in the corner and it was not cleaned properly before checking in the room, They are rude and disrespectful. They straight lied about the microwave saying they don't have one but they do it's behind the desk but it's only for themselves only not the customers that need it to eat and It is hot as hell in the room.

They are constantly loud upstairs. So loud no one can sleep through it. I complained to the office and they wouldn't do anything about it. The mattresses are all stained and falling apart and it's not just our room. I'm pretty sure other rooms as well. There is zero ice at all. No fan. The dryers don't work. Nothing works. Please go somewhere else in the future. Thank you for reading.

Motel 6 Overland Park, ks Kicked me out of my room for cursing to myself under my breath when I showed them I was overcharged. They wouldn’t refund the difference. After they kicked me out they said I would refund my debit card in 10 days. Money never arrived! Overland park Kansas

Wild Night

We got a room at Hotel 6 and were surprised when we were awakened at 4:00 in the morning by animals outside. They were loud and obnoxious and would not stop. We called management and they said that is just the way it is around here. We tried to go to sleep then heard a pounding at the door, it was some cow complaining that they heard we complained. The cow forced her way in and started swinging at my wife with her utters flailing everywhere. Milk was all over the walls and mirror. It was a mess! I told her to stop humping outside my room and she got more angry and positioned herself in a karate pose hit me with a roundhouse hoof and then sat on my face, all 1200 pounds of her. The police arrived and had to shoot her to get her off my face. Her utters exploded violently and the explosion blew out the windows and there were cow nipples everywhere. The next day was much quieter as we had plenty of ground beef from her to have a parking lot party and make hamburgers for everyone...she was delicious.

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Fayettville on 12/8/17-12/9/17, Confirmation # 1075130112 Guest # 105471 Clerk KM checked me in.

I was 4 months pregnant with twins as a result of a rape and in a delicate medical and emotional condition, traveling alone from Florida to Maine. I had not slept for three days, and not eaten well in months. A physically assault had left tendons in my wrists ruptured from assault. I was in need of medical attention, but had to reach my appointment in Maine in the hope that the babies would survive. No thanks to Motel 6 stress they they didn't.

Above me was a family that stomped, screamed, and ran around for what ended up being nearly the entire evening. I called the front desk, and they refused to stop the noise, with an attitude that I was actually interfering with the front desk and being unreasonable. I called 4 times, and eventually, they offered to let me move to another room. I agreed but told them that I needed help with my three bags, and explained as much of my situation as they needed to know. They refused to help me, again with a "you are the real problem" attitude, and I was so exhausted I wasn't thinking clearly because I should have called the police, but it hadn't occured to me that Motel 6 customer service was so bad that police were required to do the job they they refused to do.

I had asked the people above me to stop, and they simply and aggressively made more noise, including activating their car alarm parked just outside my window, and letting it go for quite a while. Even that didn't stir the front desk from their x-files rerun. They told me they they were not allowed to leave the front, presumably even on a commercial break.

In the morning, this agressive family came downstairs to the floor I was on, and in front of my door proceeded to yell and make noise that must have affected the entire hotel. They riducled me and threatened me through the door. I wanted to scream. Motel 6 is not just reprehensible, they premitted and supported an unsafe environment to stay. You should not fear for your safety just because you choose Motel 6.

I would give -0 if I could. I was treated terrible by their night auditor at this location. I had to cancel my reservation because of the hurricane. Due to a natural disaster no fault of my own. I personally am safe but the towns around me are flooded and as a result, flights got delayed and canceled. I have already filed a BBB complaint, however, I will document everywhere I can find to make sure people know how DISGUSTING the service was. The auditor was abusive, condescending, rude, crass, argumentative and just downright ugly. I called guest relations and magically things get addressed. This shows me someone was lying. I am also going to share on all my social media accounts. They will not get away with this. I have posted this complaint on twitter, pissed consumer, yelp, here, I am just getting started. You NEVER treat a customer with disdain or contempt EVER.

Ok I checked into a motel 6 in Austin Texas room 118 to be exact. Well as I brought in my suit cases I went into the restroom to wash my hands. As soon as I turned the light on roaches scattered everywhere, baby roaches to adult roaches. Well I freaked out started killing them with my sandal. No red flag crossed my mind yet. Well I left for the rest of the day, came back around 1am with food and wow the roaches must have been hungry, because they came out from everywhere. Mirrors, the tv,walls under the bed and from the ac unit. I freaked out again lost my appetite. Closed up my food tied the bag tight as I could. Still the roaches managed to get into my food. Disgusting. I called the front desk to tell her the problem with the room. The front desk girl apologized and offered to move me to another room. I declined because there were guys all outside of there rooms drinking smoking weed etc.

Did not feel safe moving at one in the morning with my two sons a two year old and 12 year old. So I declined and waited until the morning to move because I did have another reservation for one more night. Well the second room I moved to 228 was no better roach infested again. No surprise. I did not sleep for those two nights. And I kept the lights on all night even in the restroom. Roaches were crawling on my sons bed as he was sleeping I had two roaches fall on me. I took pictures of the problem through out the two nights and a video of all the roaches I killed. I told the manager the problems she didn't even apologize. She just told me I know we have a roach problem and we're working on getting the rooms exterminated. Long story short. I made a report on the motel 6 guest relations website, gave it a week no call back nothing. So I called guest relations and the lady told me give it 5 days to be contacted. Well never was contacted. I put in a request to speak with a district manager so I can show my pictures and video and so I could voice my issue in person. Never happened. Called for the third time today and the lady said it is out of her hands because the gm put me on a do not rent list. I did not do nothing wrong. The gm is upset because I made a report. All I want is my oney back for those 2 days and money back for my food that the roaches got into. Very rude people working for this company including guest relations employees. Never again will I stay at that motel 6 location.

My wife and I went to Las Vegas this past week, and we were having fun until we were rudely awaken by tom burdett's, motel 6, we arrived in miami, Az. to visit, we checked in went to our room, to shower and freshen up, to go see my brother. to things went wrong, the firt was when we got ot our room we noticed that the air conditioner was not blowing cold air, so I called the office only to find out that she thought that the air was not working, so she put us in the room next door, well we moved into that room. only to find that that air was not working as well, so we were put into another room next to that one. well to make the story short, it had nothing to do with the air conditioner, it took me a while to figure it out, but had nothing to do with the air, it had to do with tom Burdett, the all time tight wad of the year. It seems that the air works just fine, you see when you rent a room for tom burdetts Motel 6, your only paying for the room, it seems that the air conditioner is set to every room at a cool 70% all the rooms. and you can't change them, no matter how hard you try. Because i've tried to change the thermostst several times only to fail every time, now I didn't mind it, well only when it came to the wee hours of the night, when you can feel the heat getting under your skin and you wake all sweatty and have to go for a walk to cool down. thats when the pool is closed. the only time you really want to swim, because of the heat.

I was upset at the fact that this company wants to make you comfortable and to rest easy, there is no way, how could you, when your fighting with the air to keep your room cold. and they wont let you change the temp. or they wont let you change the temp.

The my second problem is that when you rent a motel room, since when di the rules change, where when you go to take a bath or shower and you reach out side to get the soap and shampo, only to find out there is no shampo, you look and look but there is none, so my wife went to the office and asked if she could get some shampo, that her hsband was taking a shower and found that he had none to finish his shower, well Tom Burdett had a difference of opinion, with his customers. Tom Burdett decided that if you want to take a shower, then don't do your hair, because if you want to wash you hair, then open your wallet, because shampo is not cheap, like Tom Burdett.

His new slogan shold be, I'll leave the light on as long as you leave your pocket book open. Well he can keep his motel, because we wont ever stay there again. He just made 1500.00 hundred members of my family very unhappy because of his greed.I hope he learns a well deserved lesson from this one, because of Tom Burdett's greed he lost a lot of money over his greed, he can pay for the shamp himself. And we will pay holiday Inn for their shampo.

This has been the worst motel stay I have ever had.I complained to manager that my ac didn't work.I was told it did work but yet my room is 84 degrees.I attempted to switch rooms told"no" it has to be before11 am.Which is a problem because I am at work. The microwave had obviously caught on fire because it is completely burned up I wish the fire could have killed the hundreds of roaches that came running out of it.Water pours through the bathroom light fixture when the upstairs tenent takes a shower.Once again asked to switch rooms told"no, shower tomorrow"This is unacceptable. The utter rudeness out of this man is shocking.I called corporate to file complaint and was granted a refund but the g.m. then added me to a do not rent list.I believe I might be one of the few professional people here there's lots of drugs being done outside along with drinking and some prostitution. Ihad no idea what a horrible place this was.

Motel 6 hell. Wifi didn't work/they admitted it. If you turned on heat, set off fire alarm. It was so cold I had to sleep in my car. TVclicker didn't work, got new batteries from only friendly face Douglas at front desk. He was clueless about how to fix all other issues. Phone was dead/not even a dial tone. Safety was huge risk, many large loitering men who treated me like a hooker until I brought my pit bull and boxer out with me. Maintenance foregone, the room in great need, the trash outside like living in a 3rd world country. Douglas front desk after I complained to, had manager Janel Keel get in touch with me. Instead of apologizing, he threatened to call the police on me so call him as I did back to tell him I was reporting him on the sites, his # . He an arrogant Texas guy who thinks nothing will touch his big fat Texas a*. I will get him fired.

We were in a extended stay situation paying by the week then they moved us into a weekly rental on the backside of hell. There we were exposed to drug dealers prostitutes EX cons and all the nightcrawlers in Oklahoma City could afford to offer us and we were the only car from out of state park in the parking lot for 9 months. We had in our room a shower that was like a fire hose pumping hot water flooding the bathroom flooding the bathroom sink area mold growing on the wall black red and green and a ceiling about to fall out and the whole time the air conditioner or heater was pumping mold spores out of the room.

They moved it to another room where they had just freshly painted it was mode at least it looked like they had any way where are the shower didn't work the refrigerator didn't get cold enough and the TV would only work on three channels out of 127 so they moved this again and again and again and again so we stayed in almost every background on the backside of hell located at Motel 6 in Oklahoma City There we paid $245 a week got one to two weeks service in three to four weeks and was constantly harassed by drug dealers drug addicts and prostitutes occasional locksmith but I just haven't wanted to deal no sir not tonight I didn't like my keys in the car. In general if you have to stay in Oklahoma City do not stay at Motel 6 on 1800 East Reno Avenue even if you have to just go ahead and die.

I rented a room at the motel 6 by the pictures. Let start off by saying the people at the front desk where nice and accomadadating but that is where is ends. We checked in and we where told to come back in about 30 min to a hour the maid was in the front and told us the room will be ready., ok no biggy we could wait for a nice clean room over the pool. So!! We get checked in go to the room and it begins the hotel is totally sold out so our room is our room. The bath tub was dirty the floors left my granddaughters socks filthy. The bed spreads had burns. Burns!! In a non smoking room. We went from a not so clean room to all these guys drinking outside every afternoon and night leaving us girls feeling uncomfortable with Their remarks and also leaving the empty beer cans all over the grounds they looked like they where construction workers. People partying in the halls yelling and well by the looks of it some illegal activities, and to Top it off Someone got sick in the elevator Which all a worker said to me is oh sorry. Oh sorry they should of cleaned it up! for what you pay they are over charging and not giving you what is advertised in there website.

Although Motel 6 is not known for being the best hotel in America, one still expects a certain level of service after parting with hard earned cash. Not the case in El Cajon because they'll take your money and treat you like trash.

1. Motel 6 El Cajon is a zoo. They say you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but spending a night there is like spending a night in the red-light district of town. Pimps, hookers and drug dealers abound.

2. Gestapo Security. If you leave your room at night and are unfortunate enough to bump into thier private security firm, be sure to know your room number. If you don't, expect some wet behind the ear "security" guard to harass you and follow you back to your room in order to "make sure you're a guest". If only they were that vigilant with drug dealers.

3. Lying management. Whatever you do, don't bring your concerns to management. These people could care less. Wendy (at least that's what she said her name was) was the manager I spoke with and I can assure you that she will lie through her teeth. It's not often that I speak with someone for less than five minutes and walk away felling raped. This woman is bad news and shouldn't be allowed to deal with the general public.

On the bright side, these guys aren't the only game in town. There are plenty of other hotels is the area who will provide decent service and treat you with respect. I would also like to point out that the other hotels are found to be lacking when it comes to society's undesirables. Again, to each his own but when I spend a night in a motel, I'd prefer not to be asked to purchase controlled substances.

A very unpleasant stay at Motel 6 in Gilroy California. First the room was not clean and looked like it was not being maintained. There was no wifi period even though I paid extra for wifi. Since I could not get on the internet to find a restaurant that delivered, I went to the front desk to borrow a phone book. They claimed they had none. Then I said well do you know a restaurant close by that delivers to your motel? again a ruder response. I said my car is broke down and its 105 degrees outside and I cannot walk because of a heart problem. Can you please help me find a restaurant so I can order some food to my room. I had not had anything to eat all day because I was dealing with my car and towing. I had to walk several blocks just to get to the motel 6. I was exhausted, dehydrated and hungry. The night manager came and said I was harrassing his staff and that I should leave the motel. I said what? are you kidding, im just asking for help.

I have used Motel 6 for years in several states. I will never use it again. And to think that I paid them

$105 for that room.

Other reviewers elsewhere wrote “Horrible people operate this place. Have extremely poor etiquette.” I can confirm this! I was not aware of the large number of one star reviews when I telephoned to reserve a room advising the clerk I’d be arriving no earlier than 3:30 A.M. It wasn’t until I asked about checkout did this very poorly spoken crude sounding individual started with his game playing. He told me I would have to have the room vacated by 11 A.M. I would have been lucky to have gotten 6 hours sleep. It was one of those nights where Motels were readily available and not a reason in the world to want to chase a paying customer out of the room less than 7 hours after renting it. This “disgraceful” individual, again who I could barely understand said “everyone does that”! Really? Everyone is that bad of a business person that they would try to herd someone out of the room and create an unhappy customer? Instead, he lost the revenue on the room; which he could have rented again the same day/night to another person even if he had let me stay until 2 P.M. I’m reporting him to Motel Six. And I am going to write several more bad reviews elsewhere. To top things off, I never did get to mention I had an AARP membership which had he inquired would have permitted a 2 P.M. check-out. But no, not this guy. Maybe they do things like that where he comes from but not here. All was not lost. After having read the other reviews I think this disgrace posing as a clerk did me a favor if the cockroaches and bed bugs that others claim have not been exterminated. Stay Away! You have been warned.
