I purchased new townhome from builder thru Monty Malhi (agent) in 2015. The purchase price was $429,990. This property was delayed many times by the builder. The final closing was set on March 7th 2017. Monty has approach me several times during this time frame enquiring this property. Monty called me again in January 2017 about selling this property. I was unable to get my mortgage for some reasons and asked Monty if he can sell this before closing. He said there should not be any problem. He can sell this and I will make some money. I trusted him completely. Time was running out and he did not find any buyer as per Monty.. He found one buyer in Feb 2017 but the deal did not go thru because of finance as per Monty.
I asked him to find any other buyer. I know the market is very hot and I do not understand why he cannot find any buyer.. All this time he kept on saying that he is unable to find buyer. On Feb 7, Monty told me that he will buy this house at lower price because I do not have any other option otherwise I will lose my deposit.
I was shocked and had no choice but to sign the agreement. He tricked and cheated on me. He took advantage of my situation.
He said that he will pay me $500,000 CASH for this house. Although the market value is over $675,000. He wanted to make all this money.
The closing is now completed. I feel this is a fraud and he was not sincere from day one with me. He does not care his clients.
I strongly believe that this type of agents are responsible for this housing crises. I am sure he has done this with many other innocent peoples.
