I bought a car a month ago, the dealer has my car and will not return my calls or give me an answer on when they are going to “buy it back”. I now have no car, they will not give me a loaner vehicle or allowance for a rental. I have no way to get to work or home, and they expect me to make the 1st payment on this vehicle that could kill me if I was to drive it.

I purchased a used 2010 Mercury Mariner from Montclair Motorcar, 665 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, NJ also at 225 Bloomfield Ave, Verona, NJ. I was told that they don't do sales on Saturday but would make an exception for me. What car dealer doesn't do business on a Saturday right??!!

Well anyway, I test drove the car and after a lot of money talk about 2-3 weeks, I went back on that Saturday to purchase the vehicle. when I 1st arrived, the vehicle was not in front, I ask where it was I want to look & drive is again. I was informed that it was being cleaned for me. I went inside to the finance department and went in & out of his office 3-4 times due to the paperwork and prices not being correct. I also purchased a warranty, what i was told " BUMPER to BUMPER" meaning "everything in-between the bumpers" will be covered - A direct quote. I come to find out when I receive the paperwork from the warranty place that " Bumper to Bumper" does NOT exist. The warranty does NOT cover everything from bumper to bumper. In fact, the warranty does not cover anything that is wrong with the car.

Back to my story, when I was at the dealer, the day of purchase, by the time all the paperwork was sorted out it was late. I went out and got into the car and immediately notice the air condition was not working and call the salesman over, he told me “you have to drive it for the ac to kick in” Yes, I know that is NOT true but I left it alone and sat there and it did seem like it was getting colder so I pulled away. As soon as I got out of the lot, there was a very loud banging sound coming from the front end and I noticed a chip in the windshield. I called at once and told the salesperson Brandon about it and he said that they were closing soon and to bring it in on Monday. I drove some more, and the sound got louder. All said and done, they will NOT take this truck back and when I drove it, there wasn’t any of these things wrong.

These are the problem I figured out within 40 mins of having this truck, how the mechanics missed them is beyond me

The vehicle makes a loud sound whenever going over uneven roads or small bumps,

MY Mechanic – Broken Bad Sway Bars, Links & Bushings. He said they have a LOT of play in them

The Air conditioning Does NOT work

my mechanic said there is a leak and/or hole in it & the a/c needs to be recharged & vacuumed

The Driver’s seat feels like it’s broken, like it’s not up high enough, feels flat to the ground

NOT what it felt like when I test drove it. Like it lost the spring in it. I can’t drive it like that, I will get killed needs to be replaced

USB Plug needs to be Updated It can’t even charge my I-Phone 6

SYNC does not work, I can’t Sync to it

There is a chip in the windshield - Need new windshield

There oil leaking from I believe several places it is all down the engine & has been there for a long time

Leaking oil from the valve covers too - I do know that the mechanic there Forgot to replace

The Brakes also need to be looked at

I called the warranty company and told them I did not trust the mechanics at Montclair Motor Car, the dealer ship, I did not trust them at Montclair Motorcar since they obviously missed all of this in the 1st place. I asked the Warranty company could they recommend one for me. They did and it was towed to the place in Lodi NJ. They confirmed that everything I had listed is defiantly broken and needed to be fixed. I also come to learn that the warranty did NOT cover anything listed.
