This Debit card came as a Middle-Class Tax Refund of $1050.00. When I went online to transfer the money to my bank, my balance was zero and the card had been used in Nordstrom in Cerritos, CA several times.
I called Customer Service on the back of the card and they said they could not do anything to put the money back in the card and that I wasn't the only one scammed.
What a disgrace this is coming from an association with the Franchise Tax Board of California
The customer service with MetaBank Money Network is a complete scam / joke. Obviously they set it up to be terrible on purpose. The IRS is complete joke to begin with so it doesn't surprise me they went through the trouble of setting up a crappy bank to process stimulus checks, only for the customer service to be worst than comcast.
The first question they are trained to ask is for your SS number too, like literally not to even say hello. They do this to trigger people and make it a terrible situation for the "customer" and the person in India who has one of those s**+**y jobs working in a call center. Most of them pull scams on the side so the IRS is fully aware that peoples' identities are going to get stolen by calling into these foreign call centers.
