Mobile Sam's Computer Repair Reviews

Became in contact with Sam via online tech placement website. I clearly told him he would be dealing with an older gentleman who had recently had tow strokes and so be patient. Sam arrives, and before we can get to the door and let him in,...he texts , not calls, and to let us know " he left because he couldnt find parking",....REALLY?

What kind of a pro,..or unproffsional is this?

To make it worse, when we immeditaly start calling him and texting him after recieving his shocking message , he never answers and still after more then an hour he still is ignoring us.

If he had only answered his phone after his message about leaving beacuse he couldnt find parking, he would have been told that there is an empty parking space right behind our house,......but he never ever picked up again.

Looking into his company, i have found many other unhappy customers, here are a few :

1)Scheduled an appointment with Sam a few weeks ago to find out what was going on with our desktop PC. We had it for a few years, bought brand new, but only got a few months of use out of it before it wouldn't even power on...Sam came out as scheduled, took a look and cleaned up the system. He stated that it booted up for him just fine. I was shocked because it hadn't turned on for us in years...Said to let the clean up finish and we'd be good to go, if we weren't he would come back out. Well we still arent able to use the PC. I mean it does turn on now, but other than that its a paper weight...I called him last week to report the problem and he scheduled another appt for that Wednesday, but pulled a no call no show. I tried again just today 5/11/16 and he said he didn't write the appt down and he'd be here tonight at 7pm. Another No Call No Show!!! Now he won't even answer the phone. Will not try again and have called everyone that I did recommend to tell them NOT to do business with him. There is nothing I hate more than not sticking to your word. Yes his service is affordable, but I'd rather spend more knowing its going to be done right and on schedule!!!

did not get what I asked for, I just got spyware removed for forty dollars. It would have been extra for me to get my hardware increased, which is what I originally asked for.

Oct 30, 2015Verified 3)Rex C. NO Call - NO Show. Would NOT recommend. Would give ZERO stars if that was possible. 4)Aaron T.

I've used Mobile Sam's for several computer-related calls now, but have been treated with such a variance in quality that I'm honestly not sure I'll ever use him again. Why use his services in the first place? The best thing is, as the "Mobile" in his business name alludes to, he comes to you. He also only charges $30 to come to you, which is both his diagnostic fee, and his labor fee--on top of that, all you have to pay are for the parts, which he just charges straight up. So it's definitely affordable, especially for an at-home service. The first time I used him, I just wanted him to clean out the inside of my computer. I ruined a previous computer from misusing the canned air, and didn't want to run the risk of doing that again. He performed the work in a timely manner, but was two hours late, and I had to call him to ask why. That's one thing I can't stand as a consumer, having to dig for details myself. Going to be late? No problem, just call and let ME know. Really, it's the least you can do. Another time my power supply died, of course on a Sunday when every other shop is closed. I called him at 10:15 and again at 12:15 and got no response.

Finally at 2:30 he calls me back, saying he's busy that day. But ten minutes after I tell him I'll just look elsewhere, he magically has a cancellation and can be right there. Not a fan of those games. But again, once he came out, he did the work quickly and was gone. This latest visit, however, left a bad taste in my mouth. I called him up to replace the power supply he originally installed. It was a cheap one, and was already threatening to die, so I just explained I wanted a better one. He came out at the scheduled time and went to replace it. An hour went by and I heard nothing from him, so I asked if everything was okay. He said no, it appeared the power supply wasn't working. A few minutes later, he came up and said the PS was working, but that he had accidentally damaged a processor and would need to order a compatible replacement and that could take two days. He also explained that since it was his fault, there would be no charge for replacing the processor, OR the power supply.

Two days later, he gets the processor and comes out to replace it. He does, but still isn't getting any video. Finally, he deduces it's a stick of faulty RAM, which fixes the issue. But since it wasn't the processor, I had to pay the full $70 service charge, even when he admitted "If I would've checked the RAM the other day, it would have been fixed then." That just seems like such a rookie mistake for a service tech, and it kinda pissed me off, since I had to go without my main computer for two days for what amounted to no reason, and pay a full charge (after being assured I wouldn't have to) for what amounted to his mistake. I did get to keep the new processor, but would have been fine without it, since the original was working fine after all. He also told me my motherboard was basically overheating, which was a problem I never had before he messed with my system. As it turns out, I'm pretty sure it's just a faulty sensor, but the sensor was fine before this whole debacle, so I'm getting the feeling it's something else he toggled with that didn't need toggled with. Long story short, I think I'll be sucking it up and lugging my computer to go elsewhere the next time I have a problem. At some point, the need for convenience is outweighed by the need for reliable service, and I think we've finally hit that point.
